I recommend the Vampire Chronicles novels by Anne Rice. Excellent series. Book one was Interview With the Vampire. The movie was based on that.
Also the Vampire Hunter D anime movies are good. They're also based on the novels. The VHD novels are my favorite ever. D is the secks.
But this has nothing to do with debates so MOVEDYUS.

As CG recommended, The Vampire Chronicles. (After Anne decided she didn't need an editor, things went downhill a bit though.)
Also, the anime series Hellsing is awesomeness, as is Vampire Princess Miyu. I'd recommend Buffy and Angel, but I'm sure you're aware of them!
For films, you might wanna check out From Dusk Til Dawn, Queen of the Damned (Stuart Townsend is sex) and the Blade trilogy. Blood: The Last Vampire was okay, but it was kind of short, I thought.
Seii Monogatari - January 12, 2007 04:17 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I really liked the first three volumes in the Vampire Chronicles, although I kind of lost interest after that. I remember borrowing a book called Lilith's Dream from a friend in middle school, I think it was part of a series too, it was pretty good...

You should read "Silver Kiss" by Annette Curtis Klause
Angelalex242 - January 12, 2007 05:21 AM (GMT)
I'd like to add in both P.N. Elrod's works...
Especially the Jonathan Barret series. There's 4 of those...
Red Death
Death and the Maiden
Death Masque
Dance of Death

ZOMG ANOTHER DIEHARD VAMPIRE FAN LIKE ME. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
Yeah, like everyone else said, Anne Rice's vampire chronicles are very good, especially The Vampire Lestat. That's my favorite one.
I'm glad I found this thread, haha...
Books I recommend:
The Vampire Armand Book 6 of the Vampire Chronicles
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (OMG I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN, IT'S LIKE 1000 PAGES BUT IT'S SO GOOD)
Live Girls by Ray Carton
Vlad Dracula: The Dragon Prince by Michael Augustyn
Undead and Unwed
Undead and Unreturnable
Undead and Unappreciated
Undead and Unreturnable
Undead and Unpopular
Dead and Loving It
All aforementioned are by Mary Janice Davidson. I only read the first three though, but they're still VERY funny - a very modernized story about a young woman who became a vampire.
Movies:
The Lost Boys
Cronos
Blade Trilogy (I'm a big marvel fan, so....I loved all 3)
Underworld and Underworld II
Andy Warhol's Dracula (really funny)
Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman...need I say more?)
Blood and Donuts
Nosferatu (A classic 1920's thriller, if you're into old films)
From Dusk Till Dawn
Shadow of the Vampire
Anime
Vampire Princess Miyu (My absolute favorite)
Nightwalker
Descendants of Darkness
Hellsing
Darkstalkers
:lmao: .....Aurora ish not obsessed... in denial
MistaCloudStrife - January 12, 2007 09:12 AM (GMT)

But i have watched/read a few vampire animes/mangas. I guess I can just list the ones I've seen.
-Vampire Hunter D
-Vampire Hunter D- Bloodlust
-Nightwalker: Midnight Detective
-Blood: The Last Vampire
-Blood+
-Hellsing
-Hellsing New OVAs
-Vampire Princess Miyu
-Tsukuyomi Moon Phase
-Trinity Blood
-Black Blood Brothers
-Shingetsutan Tsukihime (Contains Vampires, but doesn't revolve around them)
I'm sure I missed a few I've seen, but these are the ones that I clearly remember...
Angelalex242 - January 12, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
I suppose, should you be interested in TV shows as well...
Never forget Buffy, and its spinoff, Angel.
Yukari - January 12, 2007 07:24 PM (GMT)
