Sooo... Shiva can transform now into a motorcycle... And she has a sister! O_O (I don´t know if I like it...).
And am I the only one who is seeing even more resemblances between "Lightning" and Cloud (apart from their designs) now that she´s some type of an amnesic old high rank soldier? ^^U

Those are awesome. I'm actually warming up to the name "Lightning". At first I thought it reminded me of a corny code name, but it's kinda interesting now that we've learned that there is a little history or background behind it.

I love her look too. She still has a feminine appeal without looking like she's the typical damsel in distress or if she does a high kick, her skirt won't end up like a belt. Plus, it's easy to take her seriously as the female lead, simply because she actually looks the part.

Oh and the Shiva = Motorcycle... :huh: I wonder what the other summons may end up trasforming as... *imagines Ifrit as a SUV* >xD

I was talking to my little brother while watching the FFXIII trailer, and I say "Hmmm....She looks like a female Cloud." And he says "Hey, their names are alike, too! Cloud and Lightning!" And I'm like...xDD Wow. That took me a while to figure out. :mellow:

They seem to be having more and more in common as we go along, too.....xD

I caught that connection as well. Cloud and Lightning. While I absolutely love her character design, the name Lightning just kinda seems...I unno...un-original to me...it makes me kinda sad to think that since FFVII has had such a big impact on the FF franchise, that all the games are going to have multiple expansions, characters, and names that remind me of FFVII.

I dont like the direction Nomura is taking the FF world. It thought all FF were supposed to be just that: Final. *cries*

Personally, she doesn't appeal to me as much...but I'm willing to accept new stuff from SE as well, since we've already seen so much of the white mage type heroines. I really did love Terra just as much as Aerith, Rinoa, Garnet, and FFX Yuna.

There's no doubt that, like FFXII, the main female will take the spotlight in this game.

Final Fantasy XIII will see the return of the ATB system, with little to no delay between when the command is given and the action occurs. The game will also see a departure from the summons' typical roles. Summons will have the ability to change forms in battle, for instance Shiva can transform into a motorcycle that the heroine can ride through the battlefield. Summons will no longer be limited to just one element. In addition, the crystals will give the characters the ability to create certain things, though no specifics on this system were given.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will feature a more action oriented battle system as previously reported. Characters in the game will feature weapons differing from that of the main character's, and he himself will have the ability to teleport directly to where his weapon was thrown, although there are limits to this ability. The story takes place in an isolated kingdom that features a modern setting as well as swords and magic. Nomura mentioned that this will not be the usual tale of good versus evil. The aforementioned crystal is the last of its kind and the game will center on the last battle for this crystal, the end of which will usher in a new era.

Much less was said regarding the cell phone based Final Fantasy XIII Agito. However, it was stated that it will be developed in full 3D and its protagonist has been charged with the task of protecting the crystal.

While no exact release date has been set for any of the titles, it was mentioned that Final Fantasy XIII Agito should be available in late 2007. Further depth into these titles will likely be released throughout the year as development continues.

I'd kill something if they are supposed to be a couple. But I can ALREADY see fangirls go nuts for them. The rabids usually start off this way: seeing two people of the opposite sex in the same scan and concluding that they look good together. Lightning is screwed already. :cry:
