Title: Itadaki Street

FF_Goddess - October 27, 2004 02:26 AM (GMT)
What do you guys think of Itadaki Street? This is the first game since FFVII to have Cloud, Aerith, AND Tifa in it. I know it is merely a board game. However, I do not like the fact that Cloud is shown in scans and wallpapers side-by-side with Tifa. <_< This MAY be due to the fact that Aerith's character was released later... Thoughts?

Aeris Lover - October 27, 2004 04:37 AM (GMT)
Just like you said, they may of paired Cloud with Tifa because the info on Aeris was released after, they would probably release some pics with Cloud and Aeris together soon(I hope.) Also I think that they wouldn't release anymore pictures of Aeris in Itadaki Street right away since they are kind of maintaining a mysterious image of her in AC.

Tifa Lockheart - October 27, 2004 08:00 AM (GMT)
Hmm... Well I guess so...
But they'd better not let the Cloti's hopes up for long... for all I can tell, it's easy to read the Cloti people's minds. They're going like this right now:

"OH MY GAWD!!! IT'S CLOTI!!!! I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! *sticks tongue out at us Clerith people* Nyah nyah!!! You lose!!!*"

...and then I cut their tongues. :P

GAWDS!!! I really am annoyed when I got the wallpaper with Cloud and Tifa on it...
I hope it's just one of their strategies for Cloud and Aerith's publicity for the following more facts to be released. :ph43r:

Sefie - October 28, 2004 04:06 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I've gotta agree. I'm sick of seeing Cloud standing with Tifa. He does look pretty annoyed in his pic though*sniggers*
However, they released a pic of Squall and Rinoa together, so you just KNOW all the CloTi's are saying "Look! A canon couple! Just like Cloud and Tifa! See!?" grr. Give us MORE AERIS!

Tifa Lockheart - October 28, 2004 02:14 PM (GMT)
*pulls own hair in extreme rage*

GAWDS!!!
You guys could just imagine how I reacted when I saw the darn wallpaper with Cloud and Tifa together.

Hopefully, just like what was posted earlier, it is just a marketing strategy or a strategy of publicity for the game so that it wouldn't spoil details from Advent Children. *sniff* :(

FF_Goddess - October 29, 2004 01:32 AM (GMT)
Well, it could be something harmless, like the wallpapers were made before the official images of Aerith were released. Or maybe Cloud is hanging around with Tifa at first and then ends up with Aerith? Maybe they don't want to spoil the plot of the game by showing Cloud with his intended love? Wait a sec... Does this game even HAVE a plot???

*Laughs* I did wonder when I read that! Maybe wallpapers WERE made first, but they would've planned in Aeris already, and the wallpapers were released AFTER the pics of Aeris.

Yukari - October 29, 2004 09:03 PM (GMT)
 I wouldn't get so worked up about a picture of them side by side, it doesn't mean they're doing the nasty or anything. Besides, if any CloTi tried to use this as 'evidence' then they'd be extremely hypocritical - they dismiss the idea of Cloud and Aerith together on the advert, the Coca Cola figures, and the fact that Cloud and Aerith figures are sold together, so one picture of Cloud and Tifa standing together in a virtual monopoly game is hardly anything worth getting worried over.

How cute is Aerith in Itadaki, though? :D

aerithstrife - October 30, 2004 12:08 AM (GMT)
Hmmm..exactly how I see it. Its a board game type, so the storyline may be out of proportion. Sorta remind me of that Fighting game with Cloud and Tifa in it. BAKA! It's a fighting game, no moral storyline attach, just like any other!! - Is what I want to yell at cloti fans.

FF_Goddess - October 30, 2004 01:57 AM (GMT)
Well, S-E JUST NOW added Aerith to the character list on the Itadaki Street website. So, maybe we will see some pics of Cloud with Aerith...

I saw that too, but they still dont have any wallpapers with Aeris in it >_<

Wow. I need to catch up on the news. What is Itadaki Street? *feels lost*

Aeris Lover - October 31, 2004 02:52 AM (GMT)
It's a little board game/RPG thingie that has a bunch of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters in it. (Hehe, i'm not good at description, here's the link: http://www.square-enix.co.jp/games/ps2/itastsp )

PinkRibbon - October 31, 2004 03:30 AM (GMT)
Thank you Aeris Lover! Although I cannot understand Japanese except for hi, bye and cat...Anyway, they're chibified! That's so cute :). And Aerith is added the character list too! *dances*. Is this kind of like Mario Party 4 or something? With the gameboard and all that?

Aeris Lover - October 31, 2004 03:38 AM (GMT)
Hehe, no problem! I was also wondering if its something similar to Mario Party too. If it is, then it can be multiplayer too!

wilhelm - October 31, 2004 04:11 AM (GMT)
It plays like a version of Monopoly. The board has a lot of stores on it, and you buy them. Like Monopoly, if you land on an opponent's store you have to pay them the amount on the square, and if your opponent lands on yours they do the same. The goal is to be the richest.

It also has some mini-games as well if you land on casino square, such as Itadaki Slots and Chocobo Racing.

Anastar - October 31, 2004 03:28 PM (GMT)
That's interesting, Wilhelm... so I guess there's no RPG action in the game?

Do you know if the characters can talk to one another, or are the characters just used to move around the game board?

wilhelm - October 31, 2004 06:40 PM (GMT)
If it plays like the older games (I've only had the chance to play a bit of IS 2), then there's not going to be many RPG elements in it. The most characters said in the other games were little comments (about getting a good roll of the dice or little things like that). Although I don't really remember any of the quotes from IS Special, I think Rikku has one about thunder if you're on the Thunder Plains map.

Anastar - November 1, 2004 02:24 AM (GMT)
That's good to hear, wilhelm... thank you! :D It sounds like we shouldn't be too worried about this game giving any evidence to the Cleris or Cloti camps, then.

I'd say to just enjoy the game, but I hear it's only being released in Japan... is that correct?

wilhelm - November 1, 2004 02:37 AM (GMT)
There was an English magazine that gave a vague English release date, I think. None of the other games were released outside Japan (although I think they almost released one of them under the name "Road to Riches" or something, but I don't know if they cancelled it or not). But now Enix have joined with Square, and this one features Final Fantasy characters, it might be enough for it to get an English release.
