Title: Sun Sneezing!
Kusari Yarou - December 9, 2006 09:58 AM (GMT)
I just discovered that I'm the only one in my group of friends who is a sun-sneezer.
When I told 'em about it, they looked at me like I was nuts, and I thought [/I]they were nuts for not doing it. I've been doing it for years; everytime I feel a sneeze coming on, I look at bright light/the sun to help movie it along, and there's a 90 % chance of "A-a-a-CHOO!" coming next.
My siblings do it too, all six of them, and so do my parents; but hardly anyone else I know. So I looked it up and learned it was called the "photic sneeze reflex" and only about 20% of people have it. There's also a theory that it's hereditary(yup, I'm betting on that).
So I’m wondering if anybody else here is one too!

Huh. When I try that, it makes me stop wanting to sneeze. I guess I got it in reverse. :P

Hey, I do that too! So does my friend. That's funny, I figured everybody could do it cuz I thought that it was just the bright light irritating your eyes, so it irritated your nose enough to make you sneeze.

 I just noticed that I tend to do that on sunny days... Hmm, I guess I have it also!

Ah.... the sneeze where you look up, squint your eyes, and look as if you're having trouble breathing? I don't do it much but it happens sometimes. If not that, I just sneeze out of nowhere with barely just enough time to swiftly move my hand in front of my mouth.
