Title: A Wallpaper
Description: first attempt

Hades' Daughter - November 22, 2006 06:09 AM (GMT)
I finally convinced myself to attempt a wallpaper ^^;
Sadly, this one isn't Cleris related though. It took me some time to make since I still have no idea how to properly use textures or how to properly blend them. >_<

Journey's End

Anyhow, please feel free to leave me some comments and any tips or ideas that might help me improve. I'll try to add more wallpapers to this thread as I make them.

EDIT:
Hee...after your tips and advices, here's the finished product - http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/9672/wa...rsmallerwz5.png

Ahhh, I've always liked that stock.

It's not a bad concept, but a few pointers, as you asked for them. :3

* The text, although I really like the font choice, is nearly impossible to see as it is black text-on-nearly-black-texturing. As well, the placing is rather odd. Maybe find a different place for it [such as to the side of the characters or in the grass?]

* You added the moon in the corner, correct? If that was an original part of the texture, than I guess you can ignore these comments, but the thick yellow-white edge around the moon above the light from the texture is really noticable. Perhaps erase on a low opacity eraser (I use 10%)?

* I like the blending of the characters, as it is very subtle in its darkness. Nice job! :]

* The grass is rather bright for such a dark scene. Maybe a few shades darker? It's just personal preference of my own however. XD;

Ah! It's very good for your first attempt H_D :huggle: I like the moon added in the corner, it looks very pretty. :gift: But, the text is kinda hard to read. ^^'

Wow, this is a very beautiful wallie! My only gripe is the text is hard to read, colorwise. If it were maybe white, or in a different place, that would be better. I still love the overall thing though! :wub: I hope to see more from you!

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to graphic related terminology. So what do you mean by "stock", MT?

You're right...maybe I should have made the text silver instead. I actually had it to the side to start with, then switched it 'cos the black was more difficult to see where I had it originally.
*is going to make the text silver, then move it to the side* :)

Right, I added the moon in...and I guess I could have blended it in better.

Now that you mention it, the grass does look rather bright and out of place compared to everything else around it. :ermm:
Thanks for the tips ^^

Freya&Alantie:
Thanks for leaving comments, guys. It seems like the text coloring and placement is my biggest problem, so I'll work on that.

HD, it looks stunning. I love the render. (I was actually going to make the render into a signature XD) You did a great job putting a picture with a landscape. Its actually quite hard. I think the moon render was gorgeous, and I see nothing wrong.

The only think I'd suggest (Which MT just said) is that maybe blend the grass in a little more.... like, add some lighting effects so it matches with the moon and everything.

*huggles* Super fabulous! :huggle:
