I doubt anyone's seen this 'cause it wasn't like a feature film, but if anyone has, I'd like to discuss it. :) I just saw it today, and thought it was fantastic. In case you don't know what this movie is, it's a fictional documentary about the assassination of President Bush supposedly having taken place in October of 2007.
In case you think I liked this movie because it was about the death of horrible politician, no, that's not why I liked it. On a personal note, I could NEVER celebrate the death of anyone, no matter how much I dislike them. I couldn't find joy in the suffering of Bush's family and close friends.
I loved this movie because it was so controversial and thought-provoking. One part that particularly struck close to home for me was in the beginning. A huge rally of protestors organize three blocks away from where Bush is giving a speech in Chicago, and are so filled with anger and hate that they end up becoming rather violent. It really hit me because I know what it's like to get that passionate at Anti-Bush rallies (some of the groups in the fictional protest were groups I have protested with in real life). I'm still trying to figure out what that scene was telling me, but I really felt it on a personal level. I found myself in tears at several parts.
If you've seen this movie, I really want to know what you think. Or even if you haven't seen it, but you have certain thoughts just about the story, I really want to know what people have to say.
Oh yeah. I remember talk about that a while ago. I thought they weren't going to play it in it in US at all? And you're from New York, yeah? Hm weird. I would definitely like to see it. I don't like Bush, so that's a main reason to see it, ha. But it does look good.
As far as I know, you're right. It's not playing in the US at all, and may not even be released here. Since I thought that the trailer looked great, I heard it was fantastic, and the clips off of youtube were captivating (and I can't stand Bush as well hehe), I did a bad thing. I downloaded it off of Limewire.
Anyway, I would recommend it. I was pleasantly surprised. VERY surprised.
