Title: History Of Final Fantasy

Anti-R - November 11, 2006 02:46 AM (GMT)
From the FFXII special edition, a quick look on the evolving RPG series.

Figured I'd post it here as well.

Was it always pronounced "Baha-MOOT"? I always said "Baha-MUTT". @_@;

Although, I am giggling like a fangirl with all the Aeris. <3

Very interesting clips, thx!~ Especially the different "Cid" appearances ^^
Makes me feel like replaying the old FF games again :3

I pronounced it as Baha-mutt too :unsure: ..and gosh you actually have to pronounce ragnarok like ra-gor-rock? T_T I say rag-na-rock all the time.

That was great, Anti-R! :) Thanks for posting it since I don't have FFXII yet (blame my damn brother for stealing the PS2 when he moved upstate). It was really interesting to see how the series has evolved since the 1980s. FFVII really was a turning point, wasn't it? I would've liked it more if they had described the stories in greater detail, but this was still a good watch.

[Edit]: Yeah, I pronounced most of the stuff differently too. Bahamut was always Ba-Hah-Mutt and Tidus was always Tie-Dus instead of Tee-Dus.

Yay! Will go watch!

I've always pronounced Ifrit as Eye-friht, but I know I've been wrong for years. Did pronounce Seifer correct though!

Interesting tidbit that may or may not be in these*Hasn't watched yet*:
Final Fantasy was supposed to be Square's last game because the company was going down the tube, hence the title that's left alot of people confused. However, it was such a hit that they were able to keep going! :lol:

Edit: *GIGGLES when the narrator chuckles over the moogles*

..... wait a tic...they never mentioned Aeris!! Am I the ONLY one to notice that no one's EVER said Aeris' name in ANY game? In KH and KHII they never said her name, never in AC, not in this....no where!! I wonder why

Haha, I pronounce Balamb right xD
*Snorts* Chocobos in FFVIII were anything BUT convinent dude! You had to truck WAY out of your way to get to a forest, and then they were totally hard to catch!

Whoa, I always pronounced Vivi as Vee-vee, Vih-Vee sounds too feminine

*Finishes* Whee! Thanks for sharing Anti!

:lmao: Looks like Ive been pronouncing all those names correctly all this while! Ee-frit, Ba-ha-moot, Tee-dus.... :lol: *feels so proud of self*

I've been pronouncing Bahamut as BA-HA-MUTT instead of BA-HA-MOOT as well. Oh well. xD~

[Edit]: Yeah, I pronounced most of the stuff differently too. Bahamut was always Ba-Hah-Mutt and Tidus was always Tie-Dus instead of Tee-Dus.

It was "Tee-" in the original Japanese, but more importantly, it was also "Tee-" in the English KH1 (which REALLY threw me for a loop since I always pronounced it "Tie-dus"). I believe it's only in the English KH2 where they pronounced it "Tai-".

And I didn't notice the Bahamut pronunciation. You guys have good ears. :lol:

I can't be the only one who doesn't care how SE pronounces it, right? I'm sticking to my 'Tie-dus'es and 'Sey-fur's, kthx.

Not in games, but her name's been mentioned in interviews etc. by Nomura and Mena, I think. But yeah, I wonder why it's turned out like that--it can't just be an unlucky coincidence, right? XD;;;

But honestly, I was snickering too much at the AC part. No "Cloud and Tifa's story" in THAT narration, nope. :evil:

Baha-moot? Whut? o_O I've always pronounced it as Baha-mutt. Oh, what a killer blow on my gamer heart. "BahaMOOT" sounds like some exotic species of vegetable or something. Not some cool looking dragon. >_O

At least I got almost everything else right. XD ::will watch everything else::

I don't really listen to how they pronouced the names, SE has messed up a bunch of names so to me its "My way is correct!" xD

That is really nice though, I hope we get a special edition of FFXII. Making up for the so called "Limited Edtion" that we got with KH2. Even though I can't wait for FFXII, this has got me more hooked xD
