Title: Ebal Virus

Kuki Prower - November 6, 2006 09:05 PM (GMT)
While googling images today, after trying to get the proper image size, but pc was infected with a virus  After having scanned my computer and using Spybot: Search and Destroy, this thing hasn't left, though it doesn't appear to be causing harm to my pc as the internet is running normally and I am receiving no advertising pop-ups. But I still don't want some virus in my pc that might end up causing havoc and chaos and downright pissing me off. So, can any of you give me some information?

I've found the name of it, its called W32.Myzor.FK@yf, any of you guys encountered this thing?

...I think my computer has two files that are infected with some kind of virus as well. It doesn't look to me like they're causing much harm at the moment, but like Kuki said, I don't want them on my computer T.T

I found out 'cos I scanned my computer with Norton. I tried to get rid of them, but the program told me it failed to remove the files. Any ideas, anyone? MistaCloudStrife?

...I was afraid of that. *is so computer illiterate, it's not even funny*
What I should be looking for are just the names of the files...right...? >_<

Yep, the name of the file that your Norton detects as a virus should be enough. :3

That's the problem.

Get rid of that piece of trash. Download Avast. It's free, and 10x better than Norton.

It seems both files are infected with the W32.Wullik@mm worm. Is there a simple way to get rid of them, something that's easy enough for someone like me to try?

Really? That's a shame.
We paid good money for Norton, I'm pretty sure T.T

Thanks for the advice on Avast.
*will look into it*

Step by step procedures to remove it.

Doesn't look too complicated, but I'd rather have my cousin do it since he knows everything about pcs. I'd probably screw it up

Thanks Mista :huggle:

That's sad to know, but let me give you a tip. Before buying software, read previews on magazines or the Internet about it. It can save you money.

Info on W32.Wullik@mm here. It's from Symantec, but info nonetheless.

You can download Avast, here. (It's today's release ;) )
