(if there's already a thread about the topic, feel free to trash ^^)
This 14-episode anime is completely dramatic and very realistic (by means of causes and effects). The storyline really is a tearjerker, and totally worth watching. The first time I watched the first episode made me reminisce of my high school days, and my present college life, even, what will happen to me in the future. So, anyone watched yet? Mitsuki or Haruka?
I watched the series awhile ago. It was alright, but there's been a lot better series and casts. Series that were more emotional were Fushigi Yuugi, Fushigi Yugi, Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, Ayashi no Ceres, Bokura ga Ita, Marmalade Boy, Paradise Kiss, Peach Girl. Series like Stellvia, Pichi Pichi Pitch Mermaid Melody, Happy Hustle High, Kodocha, Absolute Boyfriend were also cute and likable series. Sailor Moon and Fushigi Yuugi were so touching and emotional.
Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien was good, I really enjoyed it, but there were a of series with more likable characters. Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien just had a frustrating cast, the hero deserved better than either of his choices.
Fan of Yuu Watase's work then... I've never really gotten emotional during any of those adventure romance series. (Fushigi Yuugi, Sailor Moon, Ayashi no Ceres etc)
Actually Kimi Nozo would probably be the only Romance anime that got me really emotional. Make that only anime in general that got me realy emotional. I guess because it was meant to be sad, it was made to be more realistic than your run of the mill anime.
It doesn't have the perfect boyfriend/girlfriend (Zettai Kareshi) or have a complete self sacrificing boyfriend/girlfriend.(Fushigi Yuugi/Sailor Moon/Ayashi no Ceres) It's as real an anime as you can get.
You emerse yourself into the anime and put yourself in the characters shoes. You start to fall in love with certain characters, hate characters characters, get annoying with characters just like you would in real life. The same characters can make you happy and break your heart just like in real life. Because of all that I loved this series.
Back when I first watched it it wasn't like any other anime I've ever seen. I thought it was very unique and a breath of fresh air compared to your everyday anime series.
Paradise Kiss did the same thing, BUT it didn't have the same feel... Kimi Nozo was more of an emotional rollercaoster.
Loved it. And I guess that's all I have to say.
