Title: Photo Of Tifa, Zack And Sephiroth
Description: Squaresoft's oversight?

Did it ever bother anyone that while, for most of Disc 1 and 2, we're in this big mess about Cloud's identity crisis-- yet sitting on Tifa's desk right there in her room was a photograph of Zack, Tifa and Sephiroth just before they left for Mt. Nibel?

I don't think it's possible to access that photo within the game itself. I remember seeing it while poking around in the extra FFVII disc (the one from which you can read Zack's letter to his parents).

Kinda brings out wonderings if the photo really had been there when AVALANCHE reached Nibelheim in the game, and if Cloud had just paid more attention to Tifa's desk, and HOMG those Shinra were bloody accurate when they reconstructed the village, weren't they?

Although maybe Squaresoft just didn't have a better place to store the photo in the extras disc.

And silly musings about menial things like these are what you get from me when I'm breathing in fumes of steam while steam-ironing.

I never noticed that. I will have to go back sometime and try to look at it sometime. Now besides the fact that Cloud didn't notice, with the events that ended up taking place why would she have that on her desk in the first place?
Good question and observation Lynn.

Thanks, aerisbolt. ^^

The more I think about it when I should be working on uni assignments, the more I think Squaresoft stashed it there out of convenience in the Extras Disc.

To clarify, the Extras Disc has this section where you can visit almost all the areas in the game, and click on certain parts of the area/room to view what's there. I say "almost" because there are two places you can't visit: the Northern Crater and the Forgotten City.

Since the photo was shown in the game in the Northern Crater, and since that place is inaccessible in the Extras Disc, maybe Square just dumped the photo on Tifa's desk so that we'll have some way to see it.

Or maybe she's reaaaaally hung up on Zack.

Extra disc? I have never heard of FFVII having an extra disc before! Where did you get this Lynn?

I believe the Extras Disc was released alongside the re-release of FFVII International (the ones with new AC-style pics of Cloud, Aerith and Sephiroth on each disc, and AVALANCHE on the 4th Disc--that's the Extras Disc). Technically, it's not "new" since I believe it was released before (as was FFVII International).

On the disc, you get descriptions and pictures of every item in the game--including a picture of Zack's letter to his parents (which, when translated, is where people found out that he only included news of Aerith in a P.S.). Some other stuff included are artwork, what looks like early designs for certain areas in the game, etc.

There's also a section where, as I described earlier, you can revisit almost every area accessible in the actual game.

As for how I got it... Ah, we all have our ways.

I've posted some screenshots from the Extras Disc before. It's in the FFVII forum. I'll link it from here if I find the thread.

You never know...especially since he was very much like the hero she'd always wanted to come rescue her. :giggle:

I'm pretty sure CC will touch on the Nibelheim incident. If so, just maybe we'll get to see more of Zack and Tifa's interactions ^^
