Title: Cloaer / Cleris/ Clouris / Clorith
Description: Which name is the official one?
UsagiMamoru - January 13, 2005 11:43 PM (GMT)
This has been debated for a long time, but I always wondered if their was an official term. I've been a Cloud x Aeris fan for many years and I noticed that their were many different titles for fans and the couple term. However, there's always different terms on different sites. Does anyone know if there's an official term? Or, which version do you like to use? I remember a few years ago the main term was Cleris, but now there's a lot of different versions. I like all the versions. Wow, it's been so many years since I first beat FFVII. I remember my first time through it. FFVII brings back a lot of memories. Ahh... I'm off topic. Sorry if this topic may seems out of place, I just wanted to know if their was an official one, since the term is different on many sites.

I think it all depends on what you feel which term is right for Cloud and Aeris. There is no official term i think, well thats only what i think.
Anastar - January 14, 2005 01:09 AM (GMT)
The term is just fanmade, so there is no official version. There's many different versions of it because it's made by putting Cloud and Aerith's names together into one word, and people do that in different ways. Just use the version you like best.
Very honestly, I prefer saying CloudxAerith coz I don't like using the one word term for it. If I use one, though, I usually say Cleris just coz that's the one I see used most often. I think Clorith is prettier, though.
Cloud Gainsborough - January 14, 2005 04:04 AM (GMT)
And, very honestly, i prefer Clerith. Anastar is right, there is no official term.
Andina - January 14, 2005 04:26 AM (GMT)
As everyone else is being oh so honest then so will I. ^_^
Clorith is my favourite by far as it was the first one I heard and so I fell in love with it and have been using it ever since. :P
Eternity-Knight - January 14, 2005 05:14 AM (GMT)
I'd have to say that I don't think there is an offical name. It is just something fans made up. It just depends on your preference. I tend to use Cleris most of the time.
UsagiMamoru - January 16, 2005 03:30 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I know it's a fan made term, I remember way back during the fan wars people would refer to each side in each term. I remember the fan wars... Thankfully those passed. I had just wondered if their was any official term. I'm so glad that the fan wars have passed and now everyone gets along better.

The fan wars are definitely still going. There's Love Triangle debates in most any FF forum you go to, and the fights still get quite vicious. There's many people here who have been involved in the fights just recently.
Clorith - January 16, 2005 04:39 PM (GMT)
I say Cleris cos it rolls off your tongue better. ^_^
But I think the most "official" version is CloAer, since it doesn't change depending on how you spell Aerith/Aeris's name. :)
Sefie - January 16, 2005 04:56 PM (GMT)
I like Cleris, it's just plain purdy :D
Ashe - January 17, 2005 01:11 AM (GMT)
I'm a CloRith myself XD Mainly because I was told Aeris was a typo in translation and she was actually s'pose to be called Aerith (as in KH). Whether that statement is true or not I do not know.

 i use clorith alot- probably the only one i used b4 i found out there were otherS :P
Real_Emotion - January 19, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
I use Cloris or Cleris most of the time, but sometimes I use Clorith.
Marionette - January 20, 2005 01:42 AM (GMT)
I don't like using any of those I try to avoid it for some reason.
*shrugs*

Why's that? :o
aerithstrife - January 21, 2005 12:06 AM (GMT)
 I never knew those type of names existed. So, I'm just use to typing out Cloud and Aeris name as a whole. But sometimes I used those terms.
Materia Thief - January 21, 2005 12:29 AM (GMT)
I usually type it out as well, but when I don't, I use Cloaer or Cleris.
Shadow Spirit - January 21, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
I usually say "Cleris" for sonority purposes, but as long we can understand that those names revolve around Cloud and Aerith, what's the problem?
Either way, CloAer would contain more of their names without having to debate about her name (Aerith or Aeris.... but in japanese, it was Earisu  ).
Edit: by the way, does this forum support different alphabets? When I tried to type in Japanese, all I got was the haxadecimal form of the letters...

SS - I just looked at the Admin CP, and I see no option for languages other than English to be supported. I would guess that's because FreeInvision doesn't support other languages.
But you could always write Japanese in a text document and then post a link to it, or you could write it in a sig.

Not sure I guess it seems like we're talking about one person and I see them as individuals. I know, stupid reason but I just don't like using them.

It works for me.
クラウドxエアリス、クラエア。

LOL! I think what Wilhelm just wrote is about all the non-kanji I know.
Hmm... But when I save Japanese fanart, some of them spell it CloAer too. Eg "cloaer.jpg"

Yep... the forum doesn't like my japanese keyboard O_o

I guess that would be more than enough to be able to view those shrines on the net :P At least, you know lots of kanji. I can't memorize many of them properly O_o
Edit: here's what I tried to type:
wilhelm - January 21, 2005 06:21 PM (GMT)
I can still read what you typed without any problems ^^;
Yukari - January 21, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
Hmm, it comes up all weird characters on my computer too, Shad. But what Wilhelm typed shows up okay.
I prefer to keep their names seperate, because I don't really like squashing the names together when talking about a pairing. I usually just use Cloud x Aerith or Cloud x Tifa rather than CloAer or CloTi, or if I'm being lazy; CxA, CxT, CxZ...
