It's all popularity either way. Which is probably why they didn't put Cloud in there. His popularity has skyrocketed since Advent Children, and was still very high even before that. >=)

Havent played a Zelda game where she had a big part of the story(except for the fact that she needed saving) so i voted for Aeris. >=)

Just because Aerith lost doesn't mean that there should be any Zelda-hating. I am a HUGE advocate for Zelda as a character because I feel that she doesn't get enough attention for her awesomeness.

I love love LURVE Aeris, but Zelda is the coolest princess in town!

Spoilers ahead.

- Despite being threatened numerous times, she refused to give up the locations of the remaining pieces of the Triforce, which resulted in her falling into a deep sleep due to the spell the wizard put on her, as he was infuriated that she wouldn't back down. That's right, she looked right at those bullying threating men and told them to piss off.
- In Ocarina of Time, she evades Ganondorf for seven years on her own, becomes a ninja, aids Link under the guise of said ninja, gives Link the light arrows, binds Ganon in the final fight, and helps Link get away from impending doom.
- Wind Waker, she helps Link save his sister and later on fights beside him using her light arrows.
- In the Minish Cap, she uses the light force powers to defend herself and in the end uses her light force powers to restore everyone to normal.
- Not to mention, she can totally kick ass in SSBM.

Too tired to think up more stuff now...but yeah. Remember, Zelda is always a different Zelda in every game. So really, she only ever gets kidnapped once every incarnation, and she's not even a main player in every single game (Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask) so it's not like you always have to save her. Although, I never minded saving the princess since that's kinda usually a/the goal of the game.

Now now, we have a Character Bashing section for stuff like this. ;)

Anyway, it's no surprise, as Zelda IS classic. I've never played a single game from the series (yes, depraved corner of the world I live in, I know), and even I've heard of her and Link.

Methinks the only characters who can really stand a chance in these battles from FFVII are Cloud and Sephiroth, anyway. :cloud:

Heh, maybe we should keep this topic open for the rest of the battle? I voted for Mega Man on the current poll and he's beating Sora! ^_^ Sorry, but I love Mega-Man a lot more than Sora, he's always been a very cool character to me, I like him a lot better than Astro-Boy.

Ugh, Cloud and Sephiroth <_< Both of them are probably gonna beat my little Sonic, but then again Sonic did beat Vincent so maybe there is hope! ^_^

Sora, as in from KH? Heheh, honestly, I'd probably end up voting for Megaman/Rockman and Sonic too. FF and KH are cool, awesome--but THOSE were the games I grew up with. Hours spent plugging away at Japanese versions of those games, and we still enjoyed them despite not understanding a word! :wub:

Cloud and Sephiroth have so much support at GameFaqs they retired the both of them. Tifa doesn't get support from the Aeris lovers, and Aeris doesn't get support from the Tifa loves, but Cloud and Sephiroth get support from all of the above.

Yay! xD Its true though, I always have a special attachement to the games I grew up with. Sonic the Hedgehog was my childhood hero and he still is today :lol: Infact, I'm redecorating my room with him!

Its the same with FF really, they can't beat Phantasy Star, which was the first RPG I actually played and got into. And also Suikoden ^_^ First game I got for my Playstation. So characters like Sonic, Tails, Arisa, Tir and so forth have a special place in my heart.

Of course, my dream would be for Sonic to win this, honestly I don't want Cloud or Sephiroth to win this because they seem like the ones who would most likely win this. Cloud and Sephiroth are overrated to me now, just too much stuff has been done with them and its basically the same thing happening over and over again.

And on that thing about Sora, I still haven't played KH2 yet...I can't be bothered really :hide:

I was looking at the other battles, and Solid Snake MUST win his next round. He's sexy, tough as nails, has an amazing voice actor, and just generally kicks ass. (And he beat Squall. Mwahaha.) Snake FTW! Even though I love his twin brother so much more.

Oh, and Zelda needs to pwn Yuna.
