Cloud all the way! He's such an interesting character. Sephiroth is overrated in my opinion.

I started off being a Sephiroth fangirl in the beginning because... well, LOOK at him. He's DESIGNED with all the fangirl-nabbing qualities in mind-- cool, master swordsman, bishounen yaddayadda-- kinda like KH's Riku in that sense. The mystery of his childhood, of course, intrigued you to dig out fanfics about him; and you know you just can't resist the idea that his childhood was a horribly tragic one at the hands of teh ebil Hojo.

Then somewhere along the way, I started noticing Cloud more. It was very gradual; suddenly I realised I was actually thinking about Cloud's character. I think it might've started with The Strife Manifesto-- yeah, it was ridden with mistakes, but it alerts the reader that there's more to Cloud's past than being some dork who carries oversized swords around. His appearance in KH1 displayed his inner angst for the world to see, ruining all the fanfics out there that had him as the idiot of the group. And finally, reading more on Aerith's character led me to reading about Cloud too.

Heck, I'd credit the LTD with introducing Cloud's psyche to me, since it's where it gets dissected the most. :lol:

These two characters were tied initially, I would choose Cloud now simply because I've gotten tired of Sephiroth. He started off as an interesting character in the game, but has since been reduced to merely Cloud's darkness in KH, AC and KH2. When you look back at FFVII, Sephiroth WASN'T Cloud-obsessed to nearly the same degree. Now it's the only thing SE defines him with. <_<

Hands down to both, but to be honest, I go for Cloud, even though Sephiroth's hair is teh coolest thing in the world evah XD Well, Sephiroth killed Cloud's love :aeris: and it hurts you know, and being so evil and sinister, bad guys rule over me XD. BUt killing the greatest female character of the history of anime and video games drops the silver haired dude down. Poor Cloud... :cloud:

I have a thing for the bad guys, they're just so much cooler than the good guys. Even in movies, actors always want to play the bad guys because they are much better characters. I think Cloud is pretty moody, and at sometimes he can be pretty boring (especially the Mideel scene with Tifa) but Sephiroth always creates such an atmosphere when he appears, same thing happens in AC when he appears from Kadaj. And he has an awesome theme.

I'm with you. Apart from being all cool and everything, Sephiroth just makes me sympathize with him... I don't care that Nomura is trying to make him the epitome of all evil (not to mention making him look ugly in AC <_< ), but I'll always believe in a Sephiroth who had some good in him.

Cloud, he has more of a deeper backstory and besides since Sephiroth is used more as a marking ploy, and is more obssevie over Cloud. <_<

Yeah, if I just focus on Sephiroth in FFVII, he's wonderfully intriguing.

The Sephiroth in KH and AC bored me. I can fathom including him in KH/KH2 just as an extra boss, for the fun of fighting against The Great Sephiroth; but when they then tried to give him some actual role, SE completely forgot his depth and flattened him into some Cloud-obsessed pancake. Same thing in AC. -_-

CC will be their only chance to really do anything GOOD with Sephiroth anymore. (Oh, what am I saying? An end to the Compilation? Such blind optimism I have. :rolleyes: )

Well, I suppose Sephiroth would winn0rz just from having an entire choir supporting him... as opposed to Cloud who doesn't even have a piddly MIDI to his name. :lol:

I'm a Cloud fan (not as rabid as Kaldea, of course), but his story and love life has always intrigued me. :razz:

I'm going with Cloud here, as I like looking into character's psyche and he's one of the most interesting so far. From the the beginning to the end, Cloud's character interest me, as well as his reactions to many things.

Plus, I thought his case of multiple personality disorder is like having an Inner Cloud. :lol:

My friend Michelle would murder me, but I feel as if Sephiroth is, as been stated, rather overrated. I mean, w00t. He killed Aerith; is pretty much the scapegoat for everyone's moans and groans, and gets all-in-all annoying after a while, what with his "mother this, mother that...." I mean, he doesn't even give any credit to his REAL mother, who went through the freakin' trouble of birthing a neurotically deranged psychopath. And geez, he even made me use a run-on sentence.

That guy's powerful stuff.

On the other hand, I like Cloud; because he's not perfect. He's sweet, shmexy, and blonde. Gotta love the blondes. I'd take Cloud over THUPAR BITHONEN THEPHIROTH any day.

But still, just so Sephy feels luff, I have a cookie for him. ^_^

Bleagh. I hate Sephiroth from the buttom of my heart.

He's annoying. Crazy. Overrated, sorry excuse for an antagonist bent for world annhiliation. He's been defeated not by one, but TWO spikey haired characters younger than he is many MANY times I wish it was a joke.
