Description: about cloud and aerith
Daga15 - October 11, 2006 11:52 AM (GMT)
Someone told me that in an enterview nomura ( i think, i dont remember) told that
" the reason of why cloud can see aeris is thet she lives in his heart"
or something like this. Please, could you tell me where is this topic of discussion? i cant find it and im very curious.
Yukari - October 11, 2006 03:43 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I think the quote was something along the lines of 'Cloud can see Aerith because her consciousness lives on inside him'. I think it was from the Reunion Files, but I'll have a look around for you. ^_^

I can't remember if that is an exact quote. It sounds like it would have come from either the Reunion Files (artbook for AC with comments from the staff) or from Distance (the making of AC).
Although I do know the Dirge of Cerberus booklet states something about Cloud always remembering Aerith (or something like that). Try looking through the recent threads in our DC section.
Sorry I'm not more help. ^^;

Her consciousness...her soul, you might say...lives on inside of Cloud. I have many, many theories on how exactly this works, if you want them all.

Actually, there are no theories necessary. Nomura stated himself that Aerith's consciousness lives inside of Cloud on the AC DVD. "The reason why Cloud can see Aerith is because her consciousness lives inside of him." (not exact, I dont think but very close.)
Also, the line in the booklet is "Aerith Gainsborough: A girl with the blood of the Ancients flowing through her veins, who Cloud would never forget."
Gee...for moving on with Tifa, Cloud sure as heck doesn't seem to be forgetting about a certain other person...and Nomura doesn't seem to want to let him either.

i would like to know the exact quoteeee! really he said that cloud would never forget aeris??? :D
MoonMix - October 13, 2006 01:20 AM (GMT)

And the cote of Cloud "who can't forget Aerith" is in the booklet of Dirge of Cerberus:
- Aerith Gainsborough, a girl with the blood of the Ancients running through her veins, who Cloud would never forget.

Yes, that's what I said. I knew that one was exact because I have the DC booklet right in front of me... <_<

Check out the gif MoonMix posted. It is from the interview with Nomura. He said that Cloud can see Aerith because her consciousness lives on inside him. Basically, he was saying that Aerith lives in Cloud's heart. Of course, he can't say it like that or it would be a huge blow to the CloTi fans that he seems to pity so much. <_< So, he phrased it a little differently. But, he's not fooling me. I remember the scans that came out from several different reliable magazines that all said the same thing, that Aerith was the one in Cloud's heart and that Tifa understood that. I also remember the direct quotes they were supplying: "Meeting her again, that is my dream." Soon after that, Nomura reported that he had had to change up some things in the movie to avoid contradicting certain players' (*cough*CLOTIS*cough*) interpretations. After that, all of those ClAeris quotes disappeared. But, to this day, I believe that, if Nomura hadn't been pressured to comply with the whole "leave it up to fan interpretation" nonsense, he would have made AC so obviously ClAeris that there would no longer be a LT. That would have been fantastic. :giggle:

MoonMix tnahk you for the gif of the interview !! that is what i was looking for!!
:P
Ally mcbeall, do you speak spanish!! :P finally, someone who undertand my language! :P si, creo que era la conciencia , no el corazon, pero es parecido me parece!
ff_goddess, you are right!! for me, is the same to say:
aeris lives in clouds heart, but nomura didnt wanted to hurt clotis feelings...
its true that they were modifications ( in english we say this way? )
for example, i remember a quote from tifa which said:
to die is not bad...is this what you think?
in spanish : morir no es malo, ¿ es eso lo que piensas?
but in the end, it disapeared....

Out of curiosity, I have been looking through the archives at ACF. I have only gotten through 2003 and 2004 so far, but have already found more than one place where it speaks of Aerith living in Cloud's heart.
From Dengeki PlayStation July 2004:
Tifa supported Cloud from the shadows. But it doesn't seem that they got together after the fighting. They are living apart, and Cloud doesn't communicate with her much. Aerith is still in Cloud's heart, and Tifa understands that.... It looks like that sort of relationship.
From an interview with Nomura July 2004:
It mentions the images (of a face or appearence) that even now live in Cloud's heart, with images of the bottom half of Aerith's face, the flower garden and the Forgotten Capital.
And I haven't even finished going through all the old articles yet. I also found something pretty interesting...
From Dengeki Playstation August 2004:
Character Chart...
[* suki: the word on the Aerith -> Cloud line, can be taken as 'love' when used for people, such as 'anata no koto ga suki desu' for 'I like/love you'.]
:cleris:
Ally McBeal - October 16, 2006 04:52 PM (GMT)
omg this information is very interesting..and very pro cleris..
did the clotis know all this information?? :o
FF_Goddess - October 16, 2006 05:30 PM (GMT)
Well, the stuff about Aerith being in Cloud's heart is pretty old, from 2004. But, I think it was left out when Nomura decided to make AC more subtle in regards to the LT. If they kept saying that Aerith was the one in Cloud's heart, there would be no LT anymore, right? And he would lose the support of the CloTi fans, which means he'd lose money, so....
Also, the stuff on the character chart only shows Aerith's feelings for Cloud. But, it helps when you still have people going on and on about Zeris (even when MotP disproved it comletely).
Ally McBeal - October 16, 2006 05:37 PM (GMT)
nomura should forget the money.. he's sacrificing many believes he had abut cleris(and i 'm sure he still believes in cleris)..only for don't hurt/lose fanbase?
Lynn - October 16, 2006 06:10 PM (GMT)
I don't know how exactly the planning of a video game occurs in a company, but I don't think we can really be sure that Nomura "sacrificed his belief" just to make money. For all we know, he was Cloti from the beginning, but sacrificed that in favour of Cleris merchandise and games; and didn't get a chance to do something until being put in charge of AC.
Or maybe he really IS Cleris and he's giving in to Clotis in the Compilation just for the money.
Or maybe he just doesn't care, and all that he's spouting is pre-written by the Evil Hand in the Shadows.
My point is, we won't ever really know the degree of support for one couple or another among the staff members. I'd take everything they say with a pinch of salt, since we don't know if that's how they truly feel which is just all the more reason for a Cleris battalion to parachute into SE headquarters, aim a blowhorn at Nomura's ear and demand his stance on the issue on pain of deathly loud noises.
| QUOTE (Ally McBeal) |
| did the clotis know all this information?? |
I'm sure they were quite aware, as all that info was published on ACF. But, you know how pairing shippers are...
Besides, they likely just dismissed it as unofficial stuff from speculating magazines who didn't know any better. It didn't matter if it was a Japanese magazine or an English one, they didn't care.
Ally McBeal - October 16, 2006 06:46 PM (GMT)
nomura was cloti? :o
where i can find this information?
Kaldea - October 16, 2006 07:18 PM (GMT)
No he wasn't... She just meant it could have happened and it wouldn't matter.
Lynn - October 16, 2006 08:33 PM (GMT)
( Ah, so this is how rumours start...?)
Ally McBeal, no, I don't know whether Nomura is Cloti or not. Nobody does. Just because he was involved in several games with Cloud and Aerith doesn't necessarily mean he is definitely Cleris. And just because Nojima wrote CoT and said some stuff about KH2 doesn't mean he's Cloti.
After all, Nomura and his staff still work under SE, and no one knows how the company runs this publicity stuff. Maybe they let the staff speak their minds. Or maybe they give the staff prepared responses. Who knows?
And CG's right--IMO, it doesn't matter what the staff thinks, it's what's been published in the actual product that matters.
After all, Nomura initially wanted Aya Brea in KH1, but was outvoted by his staff. So what the director wants isn't always included.
