Aurora - October 9, 2006 03:17 AM (GMT)
An die musik - new! - piece I'm working on for vocal lessons...
***brand new, my rehearsal ^^***

http://web.mac.com/princess_elphaba/iWeb/S...AD1F45495F.html
**new!** An aria called "Amarilli mia bella."

http://web.mac.com/princess_elphaba/iWeb/S...4187EEC9C8.html

This song is called "For Good" from the musical Wicked. It's my voice. ^_^ I learned how to make it on GarageBand, currently my new toy... :D This is just a short demo, but I'll try to upload the entire song.

It's a M4A file. I'm not sure what media players are compatible for it, but I know it works on iTunes.

Please tell me what you think!

EDIT: Ack, the link's broken. I'm fixing it right now.
EDIT2: I had to upload it to a .mac blog for now. Does anyone know where I can upload m4a files?

I love your voice. :D

You should really sing some more songs, you're great.

Nina - October 9, 2006 07:49 AM (GMT)

Please do more! You're absolutely AMAZING! ;_; I swear! Such talent, girl!
~wants to live in an aurora of Aurora's voice~

daydreamer198 - October 9, 2006 07:56 AM (GMT)
Ooh, ooh! I know! I know!
Sing Breathe by Faith Hill!!!

Trisse - October 9, 2006 09:19 AM (GMT)
Wow. Great voice.

I just have this feeling like you were holding back with your vocal range (pitch wise, not that you were of ofcourse! :) ) and execution (dynamics) during the song. Throughout the song it sounded very soft and sweet, and if this was what you were trying to achieve whilst singing this song then this was awesome! I loved it. Very calm and serene indeed.

I love to sing aswell! woot woot for this thread :huggle:

i pRomiSe** - October 9, 2006 11:52 AM (GMT)
I can't hear it. :( And I have my speakers turned up all the way, so I know that's not the problem. Lol.

Aurora - October 9, 2006 06:26 PM (GMT)
 Thank you all for the nice comments.

Breathe by Faith Hill? Egads... I don't think I wanna sing that, lol...

Yup, I was holding back a little because I didn't want my brothers to hear me in the next room. When I re-record it (is that a word?? O.o;;) I'm going to be much louder.

i pRomiSe** - I dunno what you can do about that... I'm new at this kind of stuff. Sorry I can't help you...

I'll upload some of my opera songs soon. Haha. I wonder if people will think it's strange O.o;;

Trisse - October 9, 2006 06:43 PM (GMT)

I love your voice! And I really want to hear some of your opera songs. I've been around music all my live (my father's a producer/recording artist) so I know a good voice when I hear one.
Bravo! :huggle:

MistaCloudStrife - October 10, 2006 05:47 AM (GMT)
Voice reminds me of someone back in my old High School Chior class.

Anyway.. I can tell you're pretty confident in your voice, which is good. Your control in both your voice and the volume of your singing is very nice. I didn't notice any mistakes... well I also don't have a music sheet in front of me so I can't tell either way but from what I heard I didn't hear anything that didn't sound right.

Good job and keep it up.

Sorry for the poor quality... :( Can't be helped, I don't have good equipment.

Just a short demo. It's an Italian aria called "Amarilli mia bella." Tell me what you think!

Thanks for all the lovely comments

Nevi - October 11, 2006 03:18 AM (GMT)
The opera song is so good! You are very talented, I look forward to hearing some more stuff.
Do you write any songs?

Trisse - October 11, 2006 05:28 AM (GMT)

Amarilli, mia, bella
Non credi, o del mio cor dolce desio....

I looooovvvvvveeeeee  the way you sing it!! Uber Awesome!

Aurora - October 11, 2006 09:13 PM (GMT)
Aw, thank you so much. :huggle: I love hearing your comments, it helps boost my confidence.

I think I'll have another song by Thursday or so.

You should post some songs of yours Trisse! I would love to hear them. Do you have GarageBand?

As for writing songs, I try to write a little bit, but...they're mostly choir pieces -- psalms and prayers and stuff. I'd need four to six people to record them. I dunno, maybe one day I'll show them to one of my professors and see if I can get them recorded.

We should have a Cloud x Aerith Idol or something.... O.o;; I want to hear other people sing too.

And a CxA idol would totally pwn.

Aurora - October 11, 2006 09:34 PM (GMT)
YAY!!! Fellow mac user! :huggle:

I remember being in a forum called Veritas BB, and they had a VBB Idol which did really well. I couldn't do it though because back then my computer was ancient and I couldn't record anything. x_x

I do have another programme for recording! but being the Unco person i am, i dont know how to operate/run/use it. lol

Nevi - October 13, 2006 05:07 AM (GMT)
Yeah, GarageBand is Mac only.
Maybe I could talk to some of the admins/mods about the CxA idol thing. Sounds like tons of fun!

Aurora - October 13, 2006 05:35 AM (GMT)
Hmmm... *ish st00pid at puters* I dunno. Do you have a microphone Trisse? If you're not sure how to use your program, I'm sure there's an online tutorial somewhere.

CxA Idol would be really cool. I'd be nervous though XD even though nobody here really knows me...

Trisse - October 13, 2006 07:38 AM (GMT)
Yup i do have a mike and I know how to use the programme now (and its about time!!)

Nevi - October 18, 2006 12:25 AM (GMT)
I made a thread about CxA Idol on one of the Cetra Forums.
We'll see how it goes from there.

Aurora - October 20, 2006 04:39 AM (GMT)
Yay! New opera song. ^^

An die musik - a piece I'm working on for vocal lessons...

Forgive the poor un-CD-like quality. It was during one of my lessons...XD Tell me what you think...

What's the Cetra forum? O.o;;

I would definetely love to do CxA idol, I think a lot of members would be interested. I know there's lots of singers here. ^^ I think that would be really cool!

Trisse - October 23, 2006 02:46 AM (GMT)
Another Beautiful Opera song sung beautifully! You have great control and a powerfull set of lungs :D :D Love your voice  I would love to hear you sing some more contemporary songs.

Aurora - October 23, 2006 09:58 PM (GMT)
Thank you! :huggle: More contemporary songs? Like what?

Trisse - October 24, 2006 10:19 AM (GMT)
OOHHHHH *Thinks* well i am not much of a chooser but oh well you asked lol :P :P

Here ya go:

Christina Aguilera: Hurt. Like all her songs it's very difficult to sing because of her powerfull vocal chords! You have a great vocal range too, so i think this song would be easy although it will also be a challenge! If not then NEXT:
Evanescense: My Immortal - Another song which requires a powerfull vocal range...well sorta. She has a strong Alto voice and your 1st Soprano?!?! heheheh! i just love the song so i'll cut the carp *SING IT* :P

lol, it is up to you! choose what ever you feel is comfortable and suitable for your voice. Those are just suggestions! you needn't do it! Choose a fav singer of yours and sing one of their songs! You'll sound good in whatever song you sing.
