First off, sorry if this is in the wrong place...I couldn't find a good place for it so I placed it here.

Second off....I am not trying to get into a war, just stating my thoughts.

Third off....here we go!

Okies. I like Cloud and Aerith Cloud and Tifa, Cloud and Reno, and some others, but I personally think Cloud loves neither girls. I think that even if Aerith lived Cloud would continue being her friend. In AC she is just a burned consiounce(sp?) and he watched her die, and thought he could help,

most people feel like that when they see someone die. Like my great grandpa died and I was in Oregon at a wedding but I can't help but wonder what if I stayed longer and went to my great grandparents house for dinner? So Cloudd probably has that burning what if...

so in AC he thinks what if I saved her, and he figures that he is to blame. by the end he was "forgiven" that is why to me, Aerith Says, "By who?" when he asks to be forgiven, she knows the true answer but she wants cloud to think about it...he didn't do anything. She aslo says on his phone, "I never blamed you not once you came for me thats all that matters." I interpret this as Aerith telling him, a friend is always there, never blame your friends, all you have to do is get my back, and be there in my time of need.

By the end Cloud has been "forgiven" or he realized that he didn't need to be blamed, he did the best he could. So aerith walks into the light. Aerith finally dies. Cloud can let her go.

If you notice here, Zack aslo leaves. and earlier Cloud said, "I chose to live out both our lives." So Cloud also never forgave himself for Zacks death eaither, which means he blamed himself. Which flows into Cloud asking Vincent, "Can sin ever be forgiven?" Cloud blames the deaths on himself and counts it as sin now, probably since two people died and he thought he could stop them. So when Zack leaves Cloud also has forgiven himself on that. Zack is able to die now because he is no longer burned in Clouds conciounce.

Now with Tifa...we know Cloud lived with her, I see it as a friend. They have been frineds for awhile now so they lived together and helped raise Marlene and Denzel. Tifa says, "I guess that only works on real familys" So she counted Cloud as being a family with him. Cloud did also becuase he tells Tifa, "I am not fit to help anyone not my family my friends no one." He puts family first. Right there you think, Denzel! and Aerith! He pictures Aerith as family, and Tifa. He see's his friends as Family, because of all they have been through. Friends fall to Rufus and Reno....the turks because in the begining Reno calls Cloud...and he seems friendly with Tifa, so it seems like over the two years the turks and the FFVII gang have made up. Zack also died, Cloud could be reffering to "friends" as him.

When Cloud leaves and Marlene and Tifa walk into Aeriths church Marlene says, "Does cloud live here?" Tifa responds, "I think he does." So Cloud has left, because he felt bad for Aerith's death. Aerith owns a church....church's are linked to the spiritual, and Aeirth is now a spirit in the lifestream. Cloud wass hoping to get forgivness. He belived Geostigma was his punishment for the deaths, he belived were his fault, that is why he doesn't care that there is no cure, and Tifa utters, " Yeah but denzel is fighing it too!" so as you see Cloud feels like he must be punished and that is why no cure has come, and he won't look or fight for his life. Which brings Sin in it...he thinks he has sinned.

To me Cloud loves Neither girl. But that is my interpretation of the story. Other people think diffrent, but like they say, "to each their own" right?


anywho those are just my points, feel free to prove me wrong or give me some spots I missed. :D

Everyone has different interpretations of the game...and that's fine. No one's going to force you to believe Cloud loves Aerith. However, I hope you understand that this is a Cleris forums. We actually have rules here against anti-Cleris and CloudXTifa posts. If you feel the need to make neutral posts, the Northern Crater is probably a better place for you to do so. There's a link for it at the bottom. We prefer not to hold LT debates here. Hope you understand.
