This is a translation of the japanese version of a scene in Dirge of Cerberus. It happens after the Midgar war battle thing and while I'm not there yet in the english game itself (which is why I can't transcribe the official english version), I just wanted to share this translation I found on my friends lj, cuz it's like SOOO Bariffa lyke WOAH. All credit goes to souya (I hope she doesn't mind me posting it :P)

Chapter 9 – An Empire in Ruins

*Vincent sees through a vent and saw an underground pathway. Shows off his moves and breaks the vent he’s standing on and slides down with it.*
*Runs through the underground, finally ended up in a big room and fights 2 black widows*
*Vincent shows off his moves again by pwning the 2 Black Widows with fire attack*

*Vincent wants to call Shelke, but she cannot be reached. (YAY THANK YOU NERO!)*
*Vincent receives a call from Cloud, Tifa and Barret*
Tifa: Ah, it’s connected!
Vincent: …Tifa?
Barret: What? It’s connected?! Uwaaaaaaah! Vincent! You still alive?!
*Vincent holds the phone away from his ear*
Tifa: He picked up the phone because he’s alive! Don’t shout next to my ears.
Barret: Dahahahahaha! Sorry.
Tifa: Sorry, I will switch over to Cloud.
Cloud: Vincent?
Vincent: Yea, Cloud, long time no see.
*Then both of them exchange information.*
Vincent: Cid’s airship is……?
Cloud: Yea, I can’t establish connection with them. Well, it’s those two people, so I think we don’t need to worry about them.
*A few metal striking sound is heard from the phone, so I assume Cloud is fighting while he’s talking on the phone LOL*
Vincent: Is it okay over there?
Cloud: No problem.
Tifa: Right! Leave here up to us.
Barret: Uuuuuoooooooooooo! No matter what we can do ittttt!!
*Vincent holds away his cellphone again*
Vincent: Heh, I understand……
Cloud: Therefore, just leave it up to----
*Vincent intercepted Cloud’s line*
Vincent: I’ll go on ahead.
Cloud: !? Wait, wait a moment. Tifa!
Tifa: Yes! Vincent, I will send you the map of the Shinra building right now. Deepground is below [you]. Anyway, take the elevator and keep on going down. Good luck!
Barret: I’ll entrust this to you! Vincent!
Tifa: Gah! What are you doing again!
Cloud: See you later. Don’t die.
*Vincent shuts off his cellphone and heads toward DG*

Is it me or do Tifa and Barret's relationship seem to click more than a Cloti relationship?

Heh heh yeah that is what i was thinking when i was watching that scene. =P

I keep imagining Barret clamouring all over the phone while Tifa's trying to speak into it. XD

Thanks for posting, Tifa and Barret's conversations always amuse me. *recalls their FFVII stairs exchange*

Er....Why did he yell Tifa's name when she's right beside him?

It kinda sounds like he's trying to get her to side with him, but I don't think that's what she's doing. :giggle:

It seems to me more of he's trying to keep Vincent on the phone long enough so that Tifa can send him the map. When the convo reaches that point, it appears that Vincent is ready to hang up and go...we all know how much of a talker Vincent really is. He didnt even bother to say goodbye, he just hung up.

Also, there's a possiblity that when they are establishing a connection, it's more than one phone. Tifa and Barret are obviously together, if he's screaming in Tifa's ear, but I doubt that Cloud would be able to fight, talk on the phone, and toss it back and forth to Tifa and Barret.

Here's the English version of the script.

Tifa: Hey, I got through!
Vincent: Tifa?
Barret: Wha? You got through!? Yo! Vincent! You still alive!?
Tifa: Of course he is, we're talking to him, aren't we? And do you really have to shout right next to my ear?
Barret: [laughs] Sorry 'bout that, Tifa!
Tifa: I apologize, Vincent. Here's Cloud.
Cloud: Vincent?
Vincent: Cloud. It's been a while.
[Camera does the fade-out/fade-in thing]
Vincent: Cid's airship?
Cloud: We lost contact about 15 minutes ago.
Cloud: I don't think we have to worry, though. Those two should be fine.
Vincent: Yeah. And what about you?
Cloud: What do you think?
Tifa: Right! You can count on us!
Barret: When I'm through, there won't be a single sucka standing!
Vincent: Right.
Cloud: And as for you...
[Vincent interjects]
Vincent: Don't worry. Leave Deepground to me.
Cloud: Can you hold on a second?
Cloud: Tifa.
Tifa: Got it!
Tifa: Vincent, I'm sending you a map of the Shinra Building.
[Vincent receives the map]
Tifa: Deepground is below the complex. Take an elevator as far down as you can.
Tifa: Good lu--
Barret: Give 'em hell, Vincent!
Tifa: Barret, I thought I told you to--
Cloud: Don't go getting yourself killed, now.
[They hang up; Vincent does the same, and moves on]

I am glad S-E portrayed Barret, Cloud, and Tifa together as they should be instead of leaving Barret out of everything.

I agree competely even if he is a bit of a stereotype. One thing that I really hated about AC is that Barret interaction with Cloud and Tifa was so miniscule. I realize that's the same situation with the other characters, but with those characters you can sort of understand. But Barret was there from the beginning of the game, and was introduced even before Tifa...Plus even his relationship with his daughter was only touched upon...You'd think that when Marlene was being cornered by Loz, she'd say Barret's name instead of Cloud's.

I realize time was a big factor of course , but the whole thing just gives more fodder to the fans (largely clotis) who see Cloud, Tifa, Marlene and Denzel as this happy little nuclear family, completely forgetting that Barret's apart of it to (as shown by CoT).

I found that to be a pretty stupid moment on SE's part. I realise Marlene's quite close to Cloud, but who's the first person a child turns to when in danger? >_>

But I was very happy when Marlene held Barret's hand instead of Tifa's at the end of AC, and was shown photographed with him too. Nothing against the Marlene-Tifa relationship, but it indicated to me that at least someone in SE remembered that Barret and Marlene are father and daughter.
