Anyway, I was watching AC English Version again yesterday, and I was struck by something Tifa says to Cloud. "What's it going to be? A memory or us?" To me at least, its almost as if Tifa is asking, me or Aerith? Probably the closest she'll ever come to asking Coud flat out. But whether or not this is what Tifa actually meant, I dunno. I just thought it was an interesting thing for her to say to him. Sooo, any thoughts? Comments anyone?

Thats also what my cousin said about that part. But I think Tifa is simply asking Cloud if he is going to start getting back up on his feet, or feel a burden of guilt about Aerith (and Zack for that matter) his entire life. Not saying of course that Tifa wants him to forget about Aerith, I think she just wants him to move past it. Thats what I got from it anyway, I've never been too good at interpreting things :lol:

Mmm... I never took that line as Tifa asking Cloud, "Is it me or Aerith?" I like to believe Tifa knows Aerith holds a special place within Cloud's heart and she wouldn't compromise with that. I felt Tifa was asking Cloud, "Are you gonna keep dilly dallying about past failures or are you gonna get your ass in gear and fight with us?!"

Tifa, of course, cares for Cloud, whether romantically or platonically. I think it crushed her, to see her friend giving up so easily. Which is why I don't really blame Tifa for giving him that lecture. ^_^

Yes, I can see what you all mean about that. Tifa wants Cloud to stop seeping himself in grief and move on. The whole Aerith or her thing was just sort of an odd feeling I got while watching the movie that I can't really explain :sweat:

Bear with me, because it's been awhile since I watched AC, but... after Tifa asked this, didn't Cloud immediately think, "But... I let you die...."?

*squints in thought* I think so. Its definately near that part. I remember first comes the part where Tifa chews him out "You think you got it so damn hard" then comes the Memory or us line, and I'm fairly certain that the I let you die part comes after. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's right.

Yeah, I thought so. ;) So, if Cloud says "But... I let you die...." right after Tifa asks "Is it a memory, or us?" then, logically, wouldn't that mean that she was meaning Aerith when she said a "memory"? Because Cloud immediately thought of Aerith after she said it, not Sephiroth. Maybe he meant his past failure as Aerith's bodyguard, but it just seems more likely that this memory is of Aerith rather than him failing to protect Aerith. There were no flashbacks to Aerith's death, just Cloud thinking of Aerith. :huh:
