i wonder, what if the two were from nibelheim ( for example), so they knew each other when they were kids?? like tifa and cloud....

do you think aeris would be a popular girl? and if she was, she would react like tifa? ignoring cloud..or she would be her friend, talking with him?


in the other hand, what if aeris was like cloud? i mean, witout friends...a lonely girl..they would have been fiends, right?

It wouldn't have been the same in the first place, I liked they way they met.

If Aerith would still have been a Cetra, Turks still would have been after her, and maybe because of her abilities, she wouldn't have had many friends, so I doubt she would have been popular, but the whole way around. Maybe, in that way, she and Cloud would have been best friends, since both would have been loners.

By that, Cloud would have seen that Shinra is not trustworthy and he might never have had joined SOLDIER, so we wouldn't have had any story, and everyone would have died when Sephiroth went berserk, since Cloud wouldn't have been there to stop him. And, obviously, The Planet, would have become Sephiroth's vessel to travel the darkness of the universe, as he said he wanted to.

If Aeris was put in Tifa's place, i don't think she would be popular at school, but she WOULDN'T NOT ignore Cloud. They would of been lovers! :wub: Aeris could of been there to help Cloud from the start. :) :cleris:

I think that if Aerith was put in Tifa's place she probably wouldn't be that popular and she would be friends with Cloud, and then lovers.

I don't think Aerith would be popular at all.. I think she'd be left out from the other kids because of how she speaks of the planet.. when she was a child she was considered 'weird'.

I don't think other kids would hang around her.. besides for another left out kid, which is Cloud. They'd be two wierdos in town, and they wouldn't mind because they have eachother.

In my opinion, I don't think Aeris would even meet Cloud if she WAS born in Nibleheim. Aeris, because of the Turks, would probably live in a secluded part of Nibleheim. She would've been just as alone, and probably only meet Cloud if she ran away...

...Yeah. I don't know if she'd be popluar...'cause speaking to the planet, to some people is weird. Its seems normal to me though....^^;

Like I said, she'd most likely never have the chance to meet Cloud (maybe she'd see him once or twice, or something...)

Besides, I like how they meet when she was selling flowers....Fate is what I'd like to call it! ^_^

I agree with everyone else here that the likelihood of Aerith being popular as a child is extremely low. She's never had a ton of friends ready to act on every word she says, and even if the circumstances were different in her childhood, I doubt she would be the type who would seek out the whole town's attention. You'll notice that her only friends in the game were naturally drawn to her rather than Aerith seeking them out herself. She's a little shy in that light--she's sweet and gentle when approached, but only latches onto a few people in terms of close relationships (she says that there were only a few people who "really knew [her]" in the game).

However, Cloud is a different story. He was the one seeking friends as a child. He wanted to earn Tifa's friendship (and maybe the friendship of the other kids, as well), but none of them were particularly drawn to him because of his abnormal tendencies. The same basic situation was going on in Aerith's case, but she never really sought people's friendships in the way Cloud did. Aerith, in my eyes, seems more like the kind of girl who would be friendly to everybody and never really look for specific friendships unless the case was something special (i.e. Cloud), while Cloud seems like the kind of guy who would aggressively seek friendship and nothing else. So I have a hard time believing they would be friends because of those social differences.

But FFVII made sure their little differences and odd habits brought them together regardless of the boundaries the world threw at them, rather than the two of them being constantly near one another and straying slowly apart. IMO, the structure of their relationship and the obvious planning behind its development is ingenious. ^_^

I'm so glad that didn't happen. I would imagine that Tifa would've died instead of Aries. Then I would be really upset with Square.

Aeris is a likeable person so i think that if Aeris and Cloud was born in the same town, Cloud wouldn't have been a loner and wouldn't had to prove anything to get notice. :D

It was Aerith who lived in the same town as Cloud it just wouldn't be the same, but that was the original idea I believe. I think Aerith would of certainly been popluar but she doesn't seem like the type of person to ignore anyone, so she probably would of made friends with Cloud.

Actually...I once heard somewhere on this forum (I think there was a subject about it) that Seph and Aerith were supposed to be siblings, and lived in the same town as Cloud. Seph and Cloud were best friends, and Aerith and Cloud were childhood friends. I believe that was originally the concept...If someone could point us in the right direction...because I'm really beginning to wonder.

Either way, I think they still would have sought eachother out one way or another. You figure they have to go to school together, right? I know they have school, because Barret doesnt want to pay Cloud Marlene's "schooling money".
