Title: What If Cloud Died With Aeris
Description: Just a crazy thought
BusterBlader - July 6, 2006 03:51 PM (GMT)
I just had thought, you might think it's stupid. I was wondering what FF7 would be like had Cloud either wrapped his arms around Aeris let Sephiroth kill him or he took his own life because he failed prevent Aeris death. I think that without Cloud AVALANCHE would've failed to stop Shinra even with Nanaki's vast knowledge on the Planet. :ermm:

Well that would be sad...for the game to end after one disc. Everyone's purpose would be nullified if Cloud had died with Aerith, not to mention the fact that no one would be in the way to stop Sephiroth from blocking Holy. Tifa's purpose would cease to be, because she held the key to Cloud's locked memories...and that's pretty much it for her. Sure, she'd have fighting for the old AVALANCHE members to keep her going (maybe). But if Cloud died, dont you think she'd be just like Cloud is in AC?
But hell! Maybe if he DID die, Barrett could step into the spotlight and so many people wouldn't forget about him so much! BARRIFA! (XD)

That'd make me cry, honestly. But I don't think Aerith would let Cloud die, she keeps on sending him back, and curing him. She wants him to live.. for some reason. Maybe because she wants him to realise that she lives inside him.
LadyNelZelpher - July 6, 2006 06:35 PM (GMT)
Aerith died with a smile on her face because (i think) she knew that they could save the world.
Cloud knew this, and he had to go on, and revenge her death.
Sadhana - July 6, 2006 06:50 PM (GMT)
Wow... if both of them died, I would've just fallen to pieces at that scene. I think it's best off with Aerith being the only one that died. Cloud wasn't a lovey dovey kinda guy despite how much we wish he had been... maybe if that were so, we would've gotten a cute kiss FMV. But the fact remains that he wasn't Mr. Romance. It would've been a shame to his character to see him die like that IMO.
Clerith-son - July 6, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
If that would have happened, then that wouldn't have been Cloud and that wouldn't have been FFVII.
Resha - July 6, 2006 08:19 PM (GMT)
if Cloud died, the game pretty much...ends. And if he died, we weren't able to see I'm Not Mr. Personality here break down before Aerith, his continous recallings of the flower girl, and we weren't able to have soo MUCH CxA pies to throw! I think SE killing Aerith has been awful for us, but on the bright side, we can tell who Cloud loves more. ^^
Karura - July 6, 2006 08:47 PM (GMT)
I think they would die in the final :cleris: so we could have more Cloris o.o But if he died in the first CD...then THE END :(.
Tenshi_Aerith - July 7, 2006 01:02 AM (GMT)
If he died with her I think Aerith's hard work would have never been appreciated and Sephiroth would have won in the end...The story would also be kinda flat after that and like most people said would probly end just there. Although I think Aerith would be saddened by it also because of the fact she was also trying to protect Cloud when praying for Holy if you think about it.
NeoCloud - July 7, 2006 04:23 AM (GMT)
If Cloud was going to die with Aerith I think he wouldtake Sephiroth with him,It would probly still be the end of the game but at least the game would have a little happier ending. Then cloud could be with Aerith and Sephiroth would be defeated.

:lmao: Oh Cloud, why didn't you die!! Curse ye for breaking my poor fangirl heart! :lmao:
In all seriousness...if Cloud dies you get the game over screen. Unless Barret develops super powers and takes on his legacy. Anyways, Cloud wouldn't be content with dying just like that, even if Aerith died along with him. Aerith's wish was to save the planet, and she died for that wish. I'm sure Cloud would have wanted, more than anything, to grant her that wish - which is why now we have FF7 and AC and god knows what other Cloudy-themed game.

Should Cloud die during the game, and not the KO dead that you can use a Phoenix Down to revive...
Well, Game Over, the Planet as we know it is doom unless they shift the main guy position over to Barret for all ya fans and Barrifas here.

I don't think it really matters. Aerith is still with Cloud, even if not physically. That's what SE was trying to get across with 'Life' as FFVII's theme. Does it really matter that their physical bodies can't be together? Not really, according to SE... :P

You took the words out of my mouth. *glomps*
"Even so, I have to fight. To settle my past. To be myself. And, above all— to free her
frozen smile." - Dismantled: Northern Crater, [Cloud: To the final battle]

Cloud dying would have left me confused and then sad. But I guess it could have been done, but only if Cloud wasn't be the true main character. For the second part of the game someone else (a new character?) could take over that position and the world still could have been saved.
Well, of course, fans would feel cheated of their Cloud. :P And also, the wonderful truth behind Cloud's mental instability wouldn't be revealed, hence the reason why that scenario couldn't work. Besides, I doubt that Cloud would've let Sephiroth kill him off like that. When Aeris died, he just wanted to kill Sephiroth more to avenge her.

If Cloud died with Aeris then wouldnt they both be happy together?

I was thinking that too. And if Cloud died then he'll join Aeris in the lifestream and they'll do what they want. And that can be left up to us Cleris fans to decide. :shift:
If Cloud died with Aeris in the middle of the story?
Umm....Well...That would be bad because the whole story would change because it was based aroung Cloud anyway. Then it would be hard to decide if the story should be continued or should someone take his place. (Especially at the end of the first disc)
I dont think anyone can take Cloud's place .

Lmao. Grand. xD <333
I would have thrown something, or bawled a river, whichever happens first. I started to cry when Aerith died, Cloud too!?
I have anger issues sometimes when it comes to video games, but that's one thing loveable about me. ;3
I cry like a baby at sad yet happy endings, so I dunno if i'd like it as much.
Finding Neverland (I loved the movie though. :3) proved it for me. <_<;
Flower_Girl - August 2, 2006 01:11 AM (GMT)
Don't even mention Finding Neverland...I can feel the freakin tears NOW!
But yeah, what it Aeris's death had been delayed until the very end of disc 3. And her and Cloud had time to acknowledge their love for each other and stuf. And then Cloud dies with Aeris, and they lead the Lifestream up to save the planet together. Very interesting thought!
BusterBlader - August 31, 2006 02:55 PM (GMT)
I think Nanaki (aka Red XII) would step up instead of Barret, because Barret just wants to destory Shinra for the death of his wife and because they're sucking up Mako energy. Nanaki's vast knowledge on the Planet shows that he would be capable of finding a way to stop Sephiroth. I like Flower_Girl's idea of Aeris and Cloud dying at the end of the game and getting a chance to finally expressing their love for each other before the final face-off against Sephiroth. I think that they probably would die when Cloud supposily unleashes Omnislash.
Here's my idea for that scenerio:
Sephiroth stares at Aeris and lunges toward her, but Cloud tries to block it and they both get stabbed. Aeris fall to the ground, but Cloud is on one knee and with one final attack, he unleashes Omnislash and falls dead next to Aeris.

Cloud dying with Aeris? It would be nice... I mean, if they both died together, they could be together. :) But, on the other hand... I like Cloud. He's the main character, that well.... isn't suppose to die. I mean, if you think about it.... Cloud can't really die unless Aeris allows it. She's constantly protecting him. :cleris:
And, if Cloud died, I'm sure Tifa might get too depressed to carry on living.... I mean, she had a breakdown when Cloud was in a vegatable state. Just imagine how miserable she'd be if he... died. :(

Um I think that its kinda funny if they died together.. not only is it kinda hard to think. But if that did happen no jokes I think i would cry//
Esuna=syd - October 1, 2006 11:32 PM (GMT)
Actutally after the reunion I thought that Cloud did die in the life stream.
