Title: Define Love<333
Description: Whats your definition?

goddess_in_pink07 - June 5, 2006 03:20 AM (GMT)
OK, HOPEFULLY, this hasn't already been posted. (looked through all the pages, and didm't see a topic like this..)
But, whats your definition of LOVE. Yes, such a lovley word with so many meanings.

But, my idea of love is... when you first truely experience it, it stays with you. You never forget the first person you truely, deeply loved. Even if you've moved on, married, and so on so forth, you'll always remember that person.
True love is a permanent scare that you can't remove. Love... is eternal. True love never dies. It never fades.

Love makes you do crazy things indeed... like in my parents case.
Love can give you great joy beyond anything, or it can cause you deep pain.

M k, i wasn't sure if this topic would go, so thought this would be the best place. But if it isn't, could a mod of admin move it? :)

Please leave comments! Goddess appreciates it! :gift:

[This is all my opinion. So ha.]

The word "love" is too easily thrown around. There is no such thing as "love at first sight" it's "lust at first sight". How can you fall in love with someone you've only seen physically? Also, love is not just romantic. It can be many things and apply to many things.

To define love is to define what is "good" or what is "evil". I don't think it's as simple as saying, "Love is--blah, blah, blah."

I don't think love is eternal--love cannot defeat death, simple enough. It can remain after death, but it does not surpass death. Love is not omnipotent--it can be love at first and turn to something else later on. It doesn't mean that it wasn't love. Love is a binding feeling--when you truly care for a person's well-being and happiness. You can love someone deeply and truly one day and by token of events and/or time passing, that love can fade.

I can love my friends truly. I can love my family deeply. And I think this is much closer to the meaning of love than loving a cute boyfriend will ever be.

Love is eternal. ^_^ [my opinion. Bleh. xD]
What would it be if you only had this life on earth?
Not a very good existence, if you ask me. ;)
So, I believe that love is eternal. :)

*is a horrible descriptor *

Hmmm I'd have to agree with you there MT. Its more of 'lust' at first sight because people are normally going by looks....but when you're me, it really is love at first sight because, the guy I saw was wearing a big goofy costume, with a mask and a funny jester hat. Can't really go by looks there. I just felt this funny goofy-ness come off of him, and thats why it was love at first sight for me....

....but then again, I'd prefer to think of him as a crush, I don't believe I'm in love {yet}, I just really like him.

To me, theres lots of love...friends, family, and lover-love. But other than that, the word is tossed around carlessly.

Friends and Family Love- People who are there for you, and people who actually understand who you are and how you act, they love you and you love them because you keep each other happy.

Lover-love- When you believe you found that "someone just for you", you're hearts/thoughts are connected...somebody who is more than just family/friend...you just feel unbelievable happy around them, you get giddy every time you think about them.....you just feel like you belong. Its really hard to define love.

Love can also bring pain. Its not just from 'lovers' where you get the pain from, many times people feel pain from friends and family.

Usually its because of betrayl that makes love painful. This person you though you trusted, crushes your feelings. Family--sometimes abuse or hurtful words. Friends--being used as a scapegoat, for your money, car, or just being used period. Lovers---they could be cheating on you or whatever.

Yes love can bring pain, but the pain usually makes you stronger to pull through new troubles. In the end...love is worth any pain you have to go through.

So yeah....

...That wasn't a very good defintion...was it...-_-;

There's a topic about love right here. It's more to do with how love works, but I reckon that defining love comes into that topic. Feel free to carry on the discussion over there, guys. :)
