Well.. I have a question for you all.
I've been thinking about this a lot recently. Now that Aerith is gone, and can't be with Cloud in the traditional way (get married, have kids, grow old together.. which would be so cute!! :cleris: ) what does she want to see happening to Cloud?
Does she want him to live the rest of his life thinking about her or does she want him to move on?
All of this started when I was spying on Cloti sites :P and I heard the theory that she wants him to be with Tifa, because of that "she pushed her to his heart" thing in MTP.
What do you think?

In the simplest sense I can put it... I think she wants him to do whatever he needs to do to live well and be happy. I think she's very accepting of the fact that she can't do the whole 1950's TV American family scene, but she is still very much persistent in remaining with him whenever he feels she is needed. Still, as Nomura made obvious in Distance and the overall plotline of AC, she's a part of him, in a more literal way than the typical phrase implies. So I think she knows better than anyone else what is going to make him happy. Whether that's being with Tifa, staying with her, or just embracing the love of everyone who cares for him, she is going to support him through it all, even from somewhere as far-out as the next life.

But in my opinion, above all else, Aerith wants to keep Cloud comfortable, and let him find his way through life happily. She wants him to figure it out for himself, but if her presence helps, she'll be there. I think she's content with him making his own decisions about what he wants to do with his life. And who do we see him driving off to be with during "Calling"...? :whistle:

It's simple enough. She wants to be with him. To be in his soul, his consciousness...she wants to be loved, as any human (or half human) would be. And being half human makes Death only...something of an inconvenience.

Then again, the poor girl deserves a bit of happiness...even if it is of the ethereal, soulbinding sort.

Since both Aerith and Tifa love Cloud, I would think that they want him to be happy. However that may be, both girls just seem to want Cloud to be at peace with his past and which torments him. So I don't think the question is what does Aerith want, but rather what does Cloud want? Because that really answers the first question (although I'm sure Aerith would hope he wanted her :aeris: ).

I think that right there says a lot cause if you think about it Aeriths best intrests have always been in the question of "What does Cloud want?" and it seems that she'll want and like anything he chooses. Although she has certian Ideas for him I'm sure she wants nothing more than to see Cloud's smile more and see him living content with no guilt :cleris: But thats my opinion.... :unsure:

guy, you are all right! i think if Cloud wants that, Aerith wants that, if Cloud wants this, Aerith still wants this. But Aerith as an individual, she wants Cloud to be happy, but this thought really keeps bothering me: What if Cloud wants Aerith? (obvious for me lol) I really wonder how Aerith will grant that...

It's already been presented in AC: Aerith is still by Cloud's side 'cos her consciousness lives on in him.

I agree with you guys though. I think both girls would be happy with Cloud being happy. If he wants to get with Tifa, Aerith would be willing to let him go. If Aerith is the one in Cloud's heart, Tifa would understand and she'd let him go. Personally, I believe FFVII's ending already showed this.

I think Aerith wants what's best for Cloud.

Well, i'm agreeing with everyone here. Aeris wants Cloud to remember her, but not feel guilty. She still wants to remain important to Cloud, but she doesn't want to stop Cloud from living a happy life.

I too think I agree with what everyone is saying. Aerith wants Cloud to be happy, wants what's best for him. She doesn't want him to forget her, but she doesn't want him to let sorrow and grief over her loss to keep him from living out the last of his days. And if -what am I saying if for? We all know he does! :P - he wants to be with her still when he dies, then they will be together ^_^
