Title: The Meaning Of The Wolf?

There is a wolf that appears a few times throught the movie. He appeared twice when Cloud was passed out in the Church scene after the dropplet represented Aerith's presences and yet again when Cloud was almost dead and Aerith send him back to the world of the living.

He appeared also after Kajah made that speech infecting the children with the water.

What is his purpose? At first I thought he was Rufus'es pet dog but that dog was huge and not a wolf. Heck Rufu'es dog wasnt even a dog I dont think

Goodness, not another wolf thread... please look if it's already been discussed before starting another thread.

But anyways, just to clear things up. The wolf is a symbol of Cloud's guilt. Nomura's cleared that up in an interview.

Yep, yin-chan has it right. Notice the wolf disappears from the Forgotten City after Cloud speaks with Aerith. It shows that Cloud's guilt is starting to be alleviated. At the end, the wolf disappears altogether.
