I was wondering...Could I play ISS on an American PS2? Because I would LOVE to get it, even if I can't read Japanese,(just gotta figure out "yes" and "no!" :lmao: ) But I don't know if it will screw up something...
I believe you'll have to modify your American PS2 before it's able to play Japanese game. I have no idea how to do that (that's usually something I take to the shop and leave to the shopkeepers :P), but I've always heard that you either have to do that or buy a Japanese PS2 to play the Japanese games.
I'm going to buy ISS when I have enough money, I've got a Japanese imported PS2 ^_^
A few ways to play imported or burned games...
You can get a mod chip and have someone install it for you. Getting a ModChip online is easy. Finding someone to put it in for you can be hard.
Or you can buy swap magic. You either have to buy a new top if you have a fat PS2(I did this so now my fatty PS2 has a flip top like the slim line versions.) Or you can just unscrew your PS2 CD face and buy a plastic key that you insert under your CD tray and pull to bring the tray out. And then you buy swap magic discs. The way they work is, you insert a swap magic disc and it reads that disc and makes it so you can play different regions games. But of course you need a way to open your PS2 without it knowing that it's open. Thus I listed two ways of doing that above.
Or you can buy a Japanese PS2...
I think the modchip is the best way to go overall... swap magic would be the best money-wise... and buying a Jap. PS2 would be if you have the money to spare and wouldn't mind having two PS2s.
