Title: 6-6-06

Maiden - May 12, 2006 11:36 PM (GMT)
People say this could be the end of things  or just bad stuff will happen I was watching the news and I was kinda scared about it since i have a sixth sence in a way and I've had dreams getting burned up by fire cause of the earth and I was my age too..on the news they were quoteing stuff from the bible about 666 how bad stuff will happen I hate when bad stuff will happen. :fear: There were women on there that were pregnate and they were like scared about it cause of The Omen movie coming out an all about Saten son's I'm not that scared it's just if the world does end that day I don't want to burn cause it say in the bible that "The Earth and it's elements in it will melt with heat" :worry:

...So what do you all think?

Sorry if this needs to be closed or moved ^_^

Yukari - May 13, 2006 12:47 AM (GMT)
I really don't think there's anything to worry about, it'll just be like any other day. It sounds a lot like people on the news are scaremongering and whipping people up into a frenzy for no good reason. Also, it's worth remembering that Nostradamus predicted the world would end in November 2000, and we're all still here. ;) I do think it's possible to have prophetic dreams, but some dreams are just that - dreams. Try not to worry, reibenichou. Everything'll be fine.

Seeker - May 13, 2006 03:18 AM (GMT)
It's less than a month away. We don't have to wait very long to see.

I'm not worried at all though. I don't think there's really any reason to be scared or anything.

yin-chan - May 13, 2006 03:37 AM (GMT)
Agree. ^_^ I don't see anything to panic about. Nostradamus has been fairly off-base on his end of the world theory, but here we are still at our computer screens being absorbed by the pink! So don't worry.

Haha, if you really can't get your mind off it, just go live your life and do everything you would do before the world ends, so by the time 6-6-06 comes around and it turns out to be true, you won't have any regrets!

Hyper-Ballad - May 13, 2006 03:45 AM (GMT)
Wasn't everyone saying the exact same thing about the Millennium?

Your dreams could just be a result of anxiety - about the possibility of the world ending, or other concerns or problems in your life - that's all. If you're feeling anxious in this way, then these feelings could be manifesting themselves as the nightmares you're having.

Does any of that seem possible to you?

As for fear of the world ending, if it really is all going to end in a few weeks, then it's already inevitable and unalterable, and there's really no point to worrying about it, is there?

But damn, it makes it so tempting for me to not write my essays now...and I will be so pissed if it turns out I slaved away writing, researching and revising only for it all to be rendered pointless less than three weeks later. Could God really be so cruel?

BlackWind - May 13, 2006 05:36 AM (GMT)
Hmm...I don't think anything is going to happen. There isn't any reason to believe something will. In the Bible it says something like(Sorry I don't know exact quote, I've never been to good with that stuff) "Armagedon will be on a day and hour no one will expect." So this 6-6-06 day is sorta expected no? And realize..Its 6-06-06 really. So thats 60606 not 666. XD

As for the movies about that Satans child thing, that movie looks so freaky and all, but I think its also just playing with our fears. I mean, look what its about and what day it comes out on. Its obviously just trying to freak people out.

No worries!

Nevi - May 13, 2006 05:51 AM (GMT)
I bet this is just going to end up like Y2K, everyone freaks out and nothing happens.
I remember the most eventful thing on Y2K was that the ball dropped in new york like every year. So the most eventful thing on 6-6-06 will probably finding milk on sale or something.

Maiden - May 13, 2006 11:05 AM (GMT)
Well i'm not scared now it's just when I was watching the News and what they were saying but what really made me scared about it was my mom saying "Oh thats the day the world will end isn't it?" and i'm like "uhhhh?" :ermm:

Angelalex242 - May 13, 2006 11:32 AM (GMT)
Even if you were right, the Apocalypse as it's written in revelations would probably take longer then one 24 hour period to do.

So if it's the end of the world as we know it, don't worry, you'll feel fine.

Scott - May 13, 2006 11:37 AM (GMT)
The calendar is human created, so we know it's 6/6/06 but nature doesn't :P

And this happens practically every year, especially in news papers. Last year it was "The world will end at 5:55am on the 5th of May 2005". And the year before that it was 4:44 am on the 4th of April etc.

Nevi is right too, thh Millenium sparked a big chaos for practically no reason...except the opening of the millenium dome, that was pretty tragic.

And Slayer are said to be releasing something on that day, be it a new CD or DVD or something along those lines. So if the world ends that day, we (or at least, *I*) won't get to hear it!

:lmao:

goddess_in_pink07 - May 13, 2006 07:14 PM (GMT)
Well, i dont think people know the exact day the world will end. Well, in MY religion,(Chrstianity), the world will come to an end, but know one knows exactly when.

Kassa_Pyro - May 13, 2006 07:19 PM (GMT)
OK, this really only applies to people in USA, but think about this...

On 6-5-06, just see if anything is going bad in Ausralia, cause it would have been 6-6-06 already there. ^_^

I will not leave the house on 6-6-06!....-suddenly realizes- Oh crap, thats the last day of school :P

BlackWind - May 13, 2006 09:40 PM (GMT)
o.o Thats your last day of school? Wow. Lucky. And what a weird day to end school on..

Maiden - May 14, 2006 03:40 PM (GMT)
6-6-06 is my end of the school day as well lets just hope it's not the end of the world too :lmao:

Kassa_Pyro - May 15, 2006 12:13 AM (GMT)
Well....if it was, at least we wouldn't have to go to school :)

Raist - May 15, 2006 04:19 AM (GMT)
ut damn, it makes it so tempting for me to not write my essays now...and I will be so pissed if it turns out I slaved away writing, researching and revising only for it all to be rendered pointless less than three weeks later. Could God really be so cruel? laugh.gif

XD, Gold HB, gold.

Think of it this way. It's not 6/6/06 but 6/6/2006. See, all of these scaremongers are forgetting the 200. Idiots! Now if it were the sixth year...well then you might have something to worry about.

Scott - May 15, 2006 03:10 PM (GMT)

It's really 6/06/2006 so even more reason to think it's...useless.

Or okay, 06/6/2006 depending on what side of the Earth you're from

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens, hopefully it won't rain on death's day.

/sarcasm

Sefie - May 15, 2006 05:37 PM (GMT)
It's true that the end is approaching(check out Revelations and check off all the signs that've happend already), but as was said earlier, it will come at a day and time that no one knows. All we know is it's coming, we're not going to know the exact DATE. And there are some large signs that haven't happened yet, so I'm not fussed.

Also, the Satan's Son thing is pure crap. He was thrown from heaven and wasn't given a physical body, he can't HAVE children.

I believe people can have prophetic dreams(I have alot myself), but I think that yous are probably just caused by thinking about it too much. If you want to dream about something, just think about it alot.

I don't want to get into a large biblical debate here (although it's probably only a matter of time) but how can there be signs of the world ending? Now, these maybe pointed out in the Bible or something but I've never read it so I can't relate to anything :P

I'm always interested in this "world will end *insert date and reasons here*" stuff because it's sometime daft, but sometimes it's interesting. But I don't belive the 4 horseman of the Apocalypse thing...I just can't imagine 4 riders on horses ending the world.

Sure the world's gonna end if you believe in this Global Warming stuff, but I don't see that going anywhere.

Okay, I'm wandering off the topic, so what are these signs for the world ending?

UsagiMamoru - May 15, 2006 06:01 PM (GMT)
Last year, on August 6th, the world was supposed to end because of an attack that didn't happen. This year's 4/20 was supposed to be a school shooting at my school, but it didn't happen.

Sadhana - May 15, 2006 06:41 PM (GMT)
I'm not worried about 6/6/06 at all. Maybe because I'm not Christian. I'm actually pretty excited since that's when the remake of The Omen comes out, and I really want to see it. I think people are working themselves up over nothing. I never really understood why the number 666 is a sign of the devil, but I read somewhere that the number originated from old pagan religions with 36 gods and 1 divine god. Since 36 factorial (or 1+2+3...+36) equals 666, the last 37th god was identified with the number, and that's how it became significant in the bible. I could be wrong, but I remember reading that somewhere.

And why would the end of the year happen in 2006? It didn't happen on June 6, 1906.

That WAS the month that Bush was elected, and that might as well have been the end of the world. Sorry, bad political joke. I couldn't resist XD

Scott - May 15, 2006 07:11 PM (GMT)
I always figured that 6 was an imperfect number, 7 being the perfect one (God made the earth in 7 days etc). So 666 = imperfect. 777 = perfect.

666 isn't the number of the Devil, it's the number of the beast. Some people think they are 2 seperate beings, make of it what you will.

Why shouldn't the world end on...5/5/05. Those digits match, must be the end of the world!

I'm not gonna be laughing about this when I'm not here in a month's time ¬_¬

Angelalex242 - May 15, 2006 08:21 PM (GMT)
Well.

It is also written:

You know not the day nor the hour.

So every time some idiot mortal guesses when the end of the world's going to be, God automatically changes it.

So don't worry about it.

So...could we just keep saying "it's gonna be tomorrow" everyday, and since God would change it, life would never come to an end?

I don't think God would be so cruel to end the Earth, after all he did make it. I always imagined something natural would end the Earth like an asteroid impact or something, never though about "higher powers".

Sir DQ - May 16, 2006 06:30 AM (GMT)
Hey sefie, who are you to tell satan what he can and can't do, if he wants little cutie baby hellspawn then he'll have them. heh

Wasn't the number found to be a mistranslation anyway, and the number is actually '616', I couldn't care either way but I have heard that quite a few times

in a sense he's right... it all depends on beliefs though.... (psst who causes that asteroid to come out of nowhere D:)

It's written on the bible that god promised himself never to be rid of humans the way he did after flooding the world and leaving no survivors beside's Noah's ark and the ones in it.... and the world set on from there. If anything... humans will destroy themselves.

Now about the six thing.... 6 is like scott said, the "imperfect number" while in actuality 3 is the "perfect number" thus having 666=perfect imperfection

people like to take it to whole new levels though. XD

(LOL at the bush joke BTW XD)

Scott - May 16, 2006 03:07 PM (GMT)
The asteroid most likely wouldn't come out of nowhere, Nasa could know about it and just not tell us (aahhh all those times of watching Armaggedon finally pay off). But, meh I don't worry about those things, they most likely have the technology to stop it, it was just an example.

Afte reading this thread so much yesterday, I went about Wiki looking at everyone's theories and like Cetra_Aeirth says, it'll be most likely humans who destroy the earth. The most popular being nuclear war (I use the word "popular" in a broad sense, obviously). But there were lots of other unlikely ones like mass insanity. That'd be...interesting.

And thanks for correcting me on the 666 things, it's a while since I read about it :)

SimpleCry - May 17, 2006 05:51 AM (GMT)
Since someone (man I forgot who) Said no one can expect it when god ends the earth, what if he wants us to expect not to expect it and we die? lol, just kidding. But I am sorta religous, I belive in the end of the world....sorta. But it is hard for me to grip the fact, that god made the bible, and it is all true. Sooooooo yeah but this is about the endo of the world.

I do have some bad feelings latley, like something horrifying, or weird is gonna happen. LOL NO MORE MATH! I am so gung hoe for the end of the world. And think, we would finally know who Cloud loves. lol, just ask God. : :lmao:

But I guess it may not end, or it may......let's just wait and see.....OKAY EVERYONE STOP EXPECTING THE WORLD TOO END SO IT WILL AND I DON"T HAVE TO DO MATH! *gives flower to everyone* :gift: Pwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaasssssssse

It is written in the bible that "the Heavens will dissapper with a great clap and the earth and it's elements in it will melt with heat." so we are going to die by fire we were suppost to be by water but if you look at it Ice has already happen you know the Ice age and water has happened but not the fire yet

Scott - May 18, 2006 03:15 PM (GMT)
For one, who's to say this is actually gonna happen?

Two, if it is gonna happen, who's to say it'll be soon?

And three. Okay, an Ice Age for ice. That's acceptable since it is nature. What is fire about in nature? Volcano eruptions? Earthquakes? Science has proven that Volcanic eruptions couldn't kill all natural life (although the could take out a fair part of it).

I don't like getting too biblical here since I take everything from it with a pinch of salt. I can't imagine un-natural fire reigning (and raining :P) from the sky.

SilverLirin - May 18, 2006 04:07 PM (GMT)
That is scary, but I don't think it has any relevance. Humans made the calender, and there have been end-of-days predictions that have always turned out to be wrong.

I haven't heard about that movie, though.

EnglishRose - May 18, 2006 04:56 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't worry about it. God isn't cruel.

It's possible that God could come at anytime, and only He knows when the time is coming. No one on earth could know when God is coming. :)

UsagiMamoru - May 18, 2006 10:56 PM (GMT)
I thought the world was going to end on August 6. I really believed that. It was a huge story. Then a month ago their was a lot of evidence for the school shooting that was supposedly going to happen at my school. Everyone believed that, too.

Maiden - May 19, 2006 10:22 PM (GMT)
Just one question how is school shootings part of the world ending? :ermm:

UsagiMamoru - May 20, 2006 01:16 AM (GMT)
I was talking about different events that had similar theories.

lenne - May 20, 2006 06:11 AM (GMT)
Well...true those 3 numbers ARE the number of the beast...
BUT I dont think it'll be the end of the world...
(didnt they that it will happen once the bible ends or something?)

hey...Thats the date when the OMEN (movie) comes out right?!

COOL!!!!!!!!!

Scott - May 20, 2006 10:31 AM (GMT)
Yeah if the world ends that day, I'll never get to see that movie ¬_¬

And how can someone "predict" a school shooting? That's...next to impossible unless you're part of it. Prey nothing like that happens again though.

It's pretty difficult to predict anything, especially the end of the world. Just wait, the bookies will be taking bets.

Gemmer - May 20, 2006 06:38 PM (GMT)
I'd like to back up this "Humans made the calendar" notion. I'll have to check for some official article to confirm my sayings, but the birthdate of the Christ has been miscalculated by...6 years I think?...accordingly if it is only a matter of numbers, from a Christian POV (what happens to the other calendars, like the Buddhist one?) then 6-6-06 was actually 6-6-00, and we're still there ^_~.

...anyone wanting to see what the Bible Secret Code or Nostradamus has to say about it? *laughing gently*.

Imaginary__girl - May 21, 2006 05:04 AM (GMT)
Being a hypochondrac, I tend to take things a little too far. Like everytime I have a headache, I immedietly think:braintumor. No lie. So when this whole 666 thing came about, I was scared beyond belief. I would make myself sick to my stomach thinking about it. So my friend tried making me feel better and brought up an interesting point. Wasn't there already a "666" date? 6/6/66. I mean, that sounds a lot more plausible then 6/6/06. This date has all 6's. So if your like me, and are a serious hypochodrac, then take that into consideration.

Another thing. I go to private school, so of course this topic comes up in religion class. And like people said before. The world will end when we least expect it to. So since the world is expecting dooms day to hit on 6/6/06, nothing will probably happen. It'll probably happen on a day with the least significance. Like someone said earlier, that movie was probably made, and released on that day to make us freaked out. I mean think about it, why would someone spend all that time and money on making a movie, and then release it on the supposed day of the end of the world?...

Bloodbath - May 21, 2006 05:34 AM (GMT)
6-06-2006 is when I go back to school.

...
...
...

Anyway, I don't think the world will be ending anytime soon. When it does end, it ends, whether you think it will be a natural incident or through the power of God. I can't find a good reason to think about bad things (unless you can't avoid it). :)
