1. Why did they take out the director commentaries??

What kind of director's commentries? :unsure:
They have commentries from people involved in the movie in "Distance" but am I wrong in thinking you mean something different? Do you mean like voice overs from the director/people involved in the movie as the movie is playing like some DVDs have?

Yep, that's it...They had a lot of comments in there that explains the movie's plot....I heard it was in the Japanese Ver....

I think the director's commentary was only included in the limited/special/lookermemai'mspecial Japanese DVD release Advent Pieces (along with the Last Order OVA).

No, :unsure: Distance was in the english version =/ it's on the second dvd I'm pretty sure I even made a short gif for it on the parts where he spoke about how Aerith lived on Cloud's conciousness :)

No, I'm pretty sure it's differrent. The one I'm talking about has Nomura(?) talking about the strength of Sephiroth's will being second to none. Comments like that are not found in Distance I believe....
