Square-Enix Japan will be re-releasing it's most popular games that range from the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 platforms. Among the lengthy list of titles is FINAL FANTASY VII, the critcally acclaimed series that has already spawned numerous spin-offs. All the titles will be released July 20th, 2006 at varying prices. Any of the games may be identified via the "ULTIMATE HITS" banner across the covers.

They're are just going to re-release it? No remake?

Hmm.. Maybe this is a good thing. Despite the sexy graphics a PS3 FFVII could have, I'd rather newer fans who have seen Advent Children but haven't played the game, play the original. Why? Well the original FFVII is uttery Cleris based, no doubt about it.

Some newer fans (who have brains) will play the PS1 version a finally see what actually goes on between our two 'famous lovebirds'

It's better for them to see the original on ps1, rather than see an altered one for the ps3

This isn't just about VII, its also VIII, IX and others. Maybe SE will finally release Final Fantasy Tactics in Europe? ^_^

Awesome...now maybe I can finally obtain that copy of IX that I've been trying to find, but too lazy to still pay $30 used. I also need to see about getting a new copy of VIII since the one I have is scratched on the fourth disc so I cant beat it >.<

Leon FFT would be cool, I wish they'd release games from their others series like Chrono Cross and Valkyrie Profile over here as well though :P

I wouldn't mind seeing FFT re-release or, correct me if I'm wrong, release it for the first time in Australia. The battle system in FFTA is addictive and I made my clan uber-awesome, so I can't wait to try out the original FFT.

Especially to get Cloud on my team. And see him meet a certain flower girl. :fangirl:

As for others, I wouldn't mind trying out Chrono Cross and Valkyrie Profile. But I'm keeping my pre-owned copies of FF7 and FF8, beside FF9 which I bought the last one in the store. PS1 games are so scarred nowadays, only in second-handed and pre-owned stores.

We may not be getting the remake, but that's okay. I still have my original copy of FF7 from way back when it came out. ^_^

I do still hold hope for a remake, but only if the original staff were to do it.

The reissues are good news for me though, because it means I'll be able to finally get FF9. It's the only one I missed. I have all the others. Unfortunatly FF9 is a real pain to find theses days, so I'm a happy guy now.

Yeah, your right. If they did remake the game (which i would LOVE!) they could alter conversations, and so on, and that would be a disaster!
But, people who havnt played FF would see that Cloud and Aerith were more of a couple than Tifa and Cloud.
