Title: ^^ Yay For My Mom!

Lutearina - April 28, 2006 12:08 AM (GMT)
After showing my mom parts of AC (we didn't have time for the whole thing, but we're gonna watch th ewhole thing today) I said, "Hey mom, doncha think Cloud and Aerith are a couple?" And she said, "Yeah, they are definately a couple." And then I said, "You know what some people think? Cloud and Tifa!" And she looked at me all weird, and said "Ew. No." :D :D :D

Maiden - April 28, 2006 12:21 AM (GMT)
lmao sounds like my best friends mom she hates tifa lolz :lmao:

...I think this is in the wrong section? :ermm:

goddess_in_pink07 - April 28, 2006 12:23 AM (GMT)
Wow! I wish my mom would take interest in FFAC..... she'd be like "whats going on, whats he doing, this is weird." But, thats awsome!! Your mom's cool! :peace: :D

LadyNelZelpher - April 28, 2006 02:14 AM (GMT)
ROFL!
My mom doesn't even know who they are :lmao:
Your mom is so cool :D

Sadhana - April 28, 2006 03:10 AM (GMT)
My mom would be as lost as hell if she even sat down and watched a second of FF: AC. Probably harass me as to how it's genetically possible for a man to have naturally long silver hair on top of asking me a million and a half questions as to why random people attack Cloud and why he's seemingly used to it.

How totally awesome of your mom though. Yay, one more Cleris joins the world!

Sefie - April 28, 2006 04:44 AM (GMT)
:lmao:
*AC including Calling ends*
Sefie's boyfriend: *Has pretty much no clue about FFVII and was asking me questions about everything the whole time* Wow, that was all ABOUT Cloud and Aeris.
Sefie: Yep XD
S's B: Do people REALLY think Cloud's all about Tifa?
Sefie: Yep
S's B: ...weird

And he's now playing VII like a maniac ^_^

yin-chan - April 28, 2006 05:45 AM (GMT)
LOL!!! Good for your mum!!

My mum wasn't interested but I made her look at the screenshots I had in my computer (in my desperate attempt to convert her to a FF fan) and she took an immediate liking to Aerith because she wears pink. Yeah, my mum's not a fan of tomboyish girls. She thinks Tifa's too violent.

might - April 28, 2006 06:21 AM (GMT)
Wow your mom is cool. My mom just now, we watched it for the second time and she was like "Huh that chick is flirting with him. She is trying to snag him" She was talking about Tifa. I just cracked up and said yeah well to bad he ain't interested in her. LMAO! She was only kidding though. =P She just grinned when i said Cloud and Aerith is the real deal. Heh

Hades' Daughter - April 28, 2006 10:04 AM (GMT)
My mom usually isn't interested in this kind of stuff, but just today, she walked into the family room while I was watching the "Cloud Smiles" scene. She was wondering where Aerith was going when she saw her walk away. Well, I explained to her that Aerith had already passed away and that she came back to help Cloud and his friends. Surprisingly, when Calling came on and she saw Aerith in the flowerfield, my mom asked me if Cloud was going to go see his dead girlfriend. I didn't even tell her Cloud and Aerith were an item... :P

Amathala - April 28, 2006 03:13 PM (GMT)
That sounds so awesome you guys. I wish that I had a similar experience, but I doubt I could get my mom to watch it with me at all. One good thing is that my cousins are Cleris...ALL of them! I didnt even know it!

Carmen - April 28, 2006 09:02 PM (GMT)
I have experience like that with my mom. Thats why I love her so much :luv:. Hey Lutearina, since you mom likes Cloud x Aerith :cleris: Wwhy dont she comes join the forums? :lmao:

Or is that a bad idea? :lmao:

babydianabunny - April 28, 2006 09:06 PM (GMT)
The first time my mom watched AC with me she thought that Cloud liked Tifa. I tried to convince her that Cloud liked Aerith, But I didn't think she understood. So I made a vow to never let my mom watch AC with again because I thought she was Cloti! Anyway I was watching the english version of AC earlier this week with my friends, then my mom walked in right before the hand reach scene. When she saw the hand reach she asked me if that was Cloud's wife helping him. Then I was like, "umm... do you mean the girl with the black hair?", then then my moms like, "no the girl in the sky". When she this I was so happy that I made her Clerith! Then I scream, "OMG yeah! She is kinda!". *hehe* that was one of the best moments in my life :D

Artec - April 28, 2006 11:25 PM (GMT)
I attempted to get my mom to watch, but she just... did not understand anything! There were continuous questions... Here are my quote-on-quote examples... XDD

--

Artec: Mom, look *points to Cloud* Isn't he cute?!

Mom: ...That's a guy?

Artec: :tard:

--

Artec: *watching movie*

Mom: ...How does that girl jump so high? ...why are they fighting? And why is a grown man looking for his mother? What's so funny about that man's cell phone ring?

Artec: Pay attention to the movie and you'll get it! :ow:

...And his name is Loz!

--

Artec: *watching movie*

Mom: I don't get it... who is that girl?

Artec: What girl?

Mom: That girl... *points to Aerith*

Artec: Oh... That's Aerith. She died. And happens to be my favorite character!

Mom: She seems alive to me...

---

Artec: *is falling asleep in front to TV*

Mom: ?! Why do all the villians have gray hair and cat eyes?!

Artec: ... *wakes up* <_<

Mom: *looks at Sephiroth* And that man needs a hair cut!

Artec: ...*gets up, shuts off DVD player, flicks light off, goes to bed*

Luna-Nayru - April 29, 2006 03:07 AM (GMT)
*is still lawling at all the stories* :lmao:

I watched it with my dad, who doesn't know the first thing about FF7. And he actually liked it! I was so shocked. A few memorable quotes:

Marlene: The Shinra Electric Power Company--

Luna's Dad: *evil voice* SHIIIIIIIIN-RAAA!!

---

Denzel: Well, Marlene? How does it look?

Luna's Dad: It looks like you're a lepur.

---

*Tifa reaches for her gloves*

Luna's Dad: Did she just pull a GUN out of her ASS?!

---

Tifa: I know! Even if you find the kids, you might not be able to help them! Maybe something will happen that can never unhappen, that scares you, doesn't it?

Luna: *is totally absorbed*

Luna's Dad: *laughs* This girl really likes to talk in clichés.

---

Kadaj: We need mother's power. She does so much for us, and we don't even know where to find her. (or something along those lines... but he's angsting to Rufus. :P )

Luna's Dad: Is this what the youth culture would consider an "emo homo"?

---

Aerith: You came... Even though you're about to break... hm? *touches Cloud's arm*

Luna's Dad: *fake, cheesey AWW*

Aerith: That's a good sign.

Luna's Dad: *another sarcastic AWW* How sweet!

Aerith: So... Why did you come?

Cloud: I think... I want to be forgiven. More than... anything...

Luna's Sister: *enters* Would you like some cheese with your WHINE?!

---

Marlene: Is it her?!

*images of the church and Aerith*

Luna's Dad: MARLENE, I AM YOUR MOTHER.

---

*Cloud pours water on Denzel's head*

Luna's Dad: Moral of the story: Take a bath frequently or you will bleed oil and die.

---

*Aerith appears in the church*

Luna's Dad: AHH! SHE'S ALIVE!

Aerith: You see? Everything's... all right.

Luna: And off she goes. :D

Luna's Dad: *sarcastic* NOOO, AERITH! BUT HE LOVES YOU!

Luna's Sister: What, so the dead girlfriend stays dead? No ressurrection? Seriously?

---

Love, love, love that even those who have never played the game still sense the Clerisness of AC. And my dad's still dropping quotes from the movie left and right. (He now says "Dilly-dally, shilly-shally" in this nasal voice whenever he feels like pissing somebody off. ) I seriously enjoy people's reactions to the randomness of the movie when they haven't played the game. Today my family and I went out shopping, and it was starting to rain pretty hard, so my sister made a comment about the weather. My dad's response? "That's not rain! Aerith is trying to cure us of Geostigma!" :lmao:

Artec - April 29, 2006 03:16 AM (GMT)
What a funny dad you have, luna!

*slight spoilers ahead*
I was once watching AC on my computer late at night, and my brother walked in the room. I have two older brothers. The oldest one played VII and is, ashamed to say, a Cloti. The other one never played any Final Fantasy. He's the one that walked in. It was the scene in the beginning where Cloud was on the motorcycle and he gets attacked by Loz and Yazoo

Brother: What's that?

Me: A movie sequel to Final Fantasy VII.

Brother: Is that the game where his girlfriend dies?

( :fangirl: )

Me: Yeah.

Brother: JESUS. How come this guy NEVER gets shot?

Me: He does. In a second.

*Yazoo shoots Cloud's sunglasses off*

Brother: WHAT?! He gets shot in the face and doesn't even bleed!??

That's about the extent of a Cleris conversation in my family. My brother that has played FFVII refuses to watch AC. :hmm:

:lmao:

That's really similar to what my mom said to me about Cloud. She only saw the ending, but she was like "that guy looks like a girl".

*huggles Cloud tightly*

Your father has an awesome sense of humor :lmao: :lmao:

The only person in my family who has seen AC is my older brother. But he didn't have a comment about cleris or cloti.

My bestfriend who doesn't care about FF period did say that she couldn't believe people thought cloti was canon during the part where Cloud looks at Aerith in the end though. :cleris:

Heh, almost the same scenario occurred when I watched it with my dad. He laughed pretty hard when Cloud got shot in the face and was like, "What the hell?! He only gets a little bit of blood on his forehead?!" I simply told him Cloud must be on steroids. Continued using that excuse throughout the movie, especially when he was ZOMGFLYING.

Oh, and speaking of my highly philosophical father (glad you guys enjoyed his analysis of the film :lmao: ) here's a couple of quotes from him and my sister that slipped my mind:

---

*all the kids jump in the water at the end*

Luna's Dad: All the little lepurs get in the water soil it with their lepuracy. Public pools are useless after all.

---

Cloud: Tifa?! Tifa!

Luna's Dad: Oh, she's going to open her eyes any second.

Luna: Yep. Three... two... one...

Tifa: *opens eyes* ... you're late.

Luna's Dad: *laughs hysterically*

Cloud: Who did this?!

Luna's Dad: I don't know. :D

Tifa: ... he didn't say...

Luna's Dad: *laughs hysterically*

Tifa: *sits up suddenly* MARLENE!

Luna's Sister: *watching from kitchen* Oh my God, that sleazy pirate hooker was faking?!

(We just watched Anchorman recently. It really gets to you. :P )

Luna: SHH! Just C-T-F-D and S-T-F-U! (Yes, we do use IM acronyms in my house.)

---

Rufus: We thought it would be in our best interests to hire a little... muscle.

Cloud: Sorry, I'm a delivery boy now.

Luna's Sister: *sings* I'm so sorry, Mister Cripple! But I just can't feel too bad for you right now!

(Segment from a wonderful musical number in the South Park movie, Big Gay Al's "I'M SUPER!")

---

Just to clarify: we are not on crack. I have to repeat that like ten times a day lately.

Luna's dad's comments are sig worthy

What he said about Kadaj ... :lmao:

And Artec your mum's like my sister, always asking questions during movies :lmao:

None of my family would watch it with me

Pyra Kurai Akaidra - April 30, 2006 02:59 AM (GMT)
Luna, you have an awesome dad. :lmao:

My family might be interested, since my parents seen me play the games (there are times when mum drag me off to bed) and my sisters watched me, too.

My middle sister probably added her typical wittiness, with my youngest wanted to watch it on repeat after seeing it and my parents? Well...that is left to be interpreted.

As for my mom, well, she'd probably scoff at the unrealistic first motorcycle battle and return to her crime shows by the first half hour.

cloud_n_aerith_strife - May 4, 2006 01:00 AM (GMT)
I wish I had a cool mom like that lol, she would never watch AC with me. I think it's cool to get an unbiased opinion though.

Meikyo - May 9, 2006 02:53 AM (GMT)
Wow, your families are AWESOME.
My mom is just like.."Wow, that guy is hot." (.. guy = Cloud :D)
Sister: Why don't they just KISS already?
Me: -_- The girl is dead.
("They", is obviously Cloud and Aerith :D )

*reviving my dead old thread :lmao:*

I used to be such an insane freak! xD *looks at her first few threads*

Anyway, I wanted to revive this again, sooo we could talk about more AC/FF family experiences! My mom has taken a great interest in my AMVs, and LOVES my Vincent and Lucrecia ones. My mom pretty much has the lowdown of FFVII now...xD And I would NEVER show it to my stepmom, she'd prolly say it's "inappropriate with swearing and fighting" and ban me from FF forever xD I bet my dad would have some witty comments....He's like Luna's dad, from what I can tell. *:huggle:s Luna for also having an awesome daddy xP* Of course, I don't dare risk showing my dad until I'm sixteen or so. xD 2 1/2 years to go till then! xD So, I suppose all my FF related conversations will be with my 9-year-old bro and my mom. Yes, she ish still a Clerith. :D And recently a Vincrecia, thanks to my AMVs. ^___^

CONTINUE TO SHARE YOUR STORIES OF PARENTS/SIBLINGS!

Especially YOU Luna, with the best family evar.

ADOPT ME. D:

My sister has never played FF7, but she watched FFAC before me. When I watched teh movie with her, she said me " She was his girlfriend, wasn't she?" (jeje my sister refered to Aerith, of course ^^). She loved Tifa character (she's a great tifa fan), but she thought that Aerith was cloud's girfriend even she didn't play the game, she didn't think aerith was only his friend, and I think it is a great prove because my sister is very unbiased, because she wasn't influenced by the game.

Lutearina - September 4, 2006 03:57 PM (GMT)
Yeah, lots of people who haven't played the game and only watched Advent Children seem to think that. :) Most likely because Tifa and Cloud don't seem to be on the best of terms in the movie, and the Aerith and Cloud scenes always look so...Hmmm...Magical, I suppose I'll have to say. xD

True. I always did feel they cast a little more light on the Clerith scenes. My little cousin ((whose 9)) saw the flowerfield scene and thought they were together too. ((She actually thought they were husband and wife. She's 9, cut her some slack XD)) To me, the Tifa and Cloud scenes lacked the essence that the Cloud and Aerith scenes possessed.

Lutearina - September 5, 2006 12:57 AM (GMT)
Yes, indeed. :) The Cloud and Tifa scenes were just part of the scenery, I suppose, in terms of the movie being a portrait, while the Cloud and Aerith scenes had more to them. They stood out, and they were imprinted in my memory quite faster than any other scene. ^_^

Trisse - September 11, 2006 01:57 AM (GMT)
lol, funny family stories!!!

but yeah, my dad thought that Aeris was Clouds Mom!

I was like 'WTF' lol oh well

NekoDono - September 12, 2006 10:30 AM (GMT)
My mama has always been my geek influence. She played D&D like crazy as a teen and loves taking me to cons. I even have my mom vaguely into final fantasy although she is most familiar with 10. (She was my helper while I played X) I'm trying to get her to play a final fantasy game, she plays video games a lot, but she hasn't yet. But she will soon enough! rawr!

Kusari Yarou - September 13, 2006 08:00 PM (GMT)

This is a bit off topic...but isn't it funny how Clotis talk about how romantic it looks with Cloud and Tifa unconscious and forced to lay together among the flowers, yet, they can disregard the Cleris flowerfield scene as romantic? I mean, Cloud and Aerith were fully conscious, and it's not like any life-threatening situation was forcing them to stand together or anything. To me, the so-called Cloti scene seems quite forced. Not only that...but it seems many Clotis forget that the beautiful/oh-so-romantic flowers Cloud and Tifa were lying on top of are symbolic of Aerith. Might have been romantic, in a way, had those flowers not belong to her :P

Too true, HD! And notice the music playing was "Water", which only played when Aerith was around. The whole scene was about Aerith protecting and healing Cloud and Tifa. It had nothing to do with ZOMFG SECKS IN TEH FLOWERZ LOLZBBQ1111. I mean, come on.... white background... flowers... "Water"... the wolf signifying Cloud's guilt over Aerith's death.... It was all Aerith, IMHO. It isn't like Cloud decided "Ooh, I am going to lie next to Tifa while she is injured so I can get a better view of her rack!" :veto: He didn't really have a choice in the matter.

Oh Hades_Daughter and FF_Goddess you girls slay me! You really know your stuff. And, what is it with cloti's saying how "ROMANTIC" it was for Cloud and Tifa to lay unconscious together? WTF? If you think about it, did Cloud know Tifa had just gotten in a fight and was unconscious there? Wasn't Cloud just normally walking into the church and happened to find Tifa unconscious? Cloti's claim that "Cloud came to Tifa's rescue", but correct me if I'm wrong, but was Cloud unaware that Tifa was even at the church?
