Something I read about recently is a theory that Ultimecia is Rinoa in the future. I find this theory quite interesting.

The fact I think this theory is true. Although, I disagree with the idea of Rinoa getting her sorceress abilities from no where, which is presented in the facts on the Ultimecia fan site above. I believe that after Squall defeats Edea, her body believes she is dying and immediately passes on her powers to Rinoa. Edea miraculously lives.

As far as the idea of the Griever GF goes, I think that Squall is aware of Rinoa's extended life span and at his death still cannot let go of his desire to stay with her. His soul, in a sense, manifests himself into an eternal beast. GF does stand for Guardian Force, hinting at the idea that the creature's will is to protect their keeper.

That's just my belief on the whole thing. What do you guys think?

Ah, the good ol' Rinoa = Ultimecia theory, always good for a read. Each side is possible and may not be, leaving us fans to interpret it.

I'm with the pro, as many of the sorceresses seem rather young (I don't know about Adel, as her looks make me question her own gender) and Edea looks younger then Cid.

I believe that Rinoa gotten her sorceress power from Edea, as it was hinted in the game or SE will have to think up a good reason for Angel Wings (off-topic: Angel Wings = Easy Tonberry King battle!)

Neko, the idea about Griever sound interesting and cool, as Squall will always be her knight ( :fangirl: ).

Also, if Rinoa's Ultimecia, then she'll know what to do when she saw Squall and co from the past come to her and repeat the circling time of sorceress power succession from the castle. So once she's defeated, she'll go back in time, hand over her powers to Edea and the cycle continue.

Ahhh... I disagree with the Rinoa=Ultimecia theory.

It makes a little sense to some extent but i would think that if it were to be the case then Square would have made it a little more obvious. Yes, that's the only reason why I would think that it isn't true.

I could add a little bit to the Griever theory though.

I don't think that Squall himself would be Griever since he actually owned Griever as a child, but I think maybe he gave Griever to Rinoa. Of course Rinoa would keep this GF since it would be precious to her especially after Squalls death. Of course we all know what a GF's side effect is. You forget. So maybe Rinoa forgets about everything and everyone and the sorceress inside overcomes her and she becomes pure evil.

I've always been a firm beleiver in the Ultimecia/Rinoa theory. They do favor each other a great deal and a lot of the evidence I've read is convincing. Or maybe I'm easily swayed. :unsure:

I would disagree with this.

If this were the case, the relationship would be far more tragic then is likely intended.

Consider that would be Squall Lionhearting poor Rinoa in the future directly. Of his own free will, no less.

Ultimecia might well be a descendant of Rinoa and Squall, but I don't think it's Rinoa herself.
