Seifer: Wow, it made me shout "Batman Beyond!" But it suits him nontheless. I was ready to cringe at his "totally owned you lamers" but he didn't make it sound cheesy.
Vivi: Spot on. VA's pretty good.
Raijin: Pretty weak. Am disappointed, y'know.
Fuujin: Ditto. Cakewalk?

Leon: Am disappointed. He doesn't sound sexy too. Missed David.
Aerith: "That's right. The Keyblade." line. I have to agree Mandy did better.
Cloud: For your light? Don't lose sight of it. Steve's awesome, as usual.

Yuffie: Sigh. Missed Christy. The new VA doesn't sound cheerful enough.
Leon: Haven't changed.
Aerith: OK. Mena did a fine job. Not bad at all. She did not sound robotic to me. But takes a while getting used to.
Cid: I expected to hate Cid's voice. I didn't. It suits him.

Auron: *sexy* Fangirls like crazy. When he offered to be Sora's guardian and he said "no thanks" I was shouting. "ME! ME! Guard me!!!"

Final Fantasy VII:

Cloud: I like Steve Burton as Cloud--the voice suits the character.
Tifa: Very nice. Rachel Leigh Cook did a good job, I'll say. Not complaining here. XD
Aerith: I'm sorry but Mena Suvari's voice acting (if I may call i that) rubs me the wrong way. Her voice is way inauthentic and she sounded as if she were being recorded inside a tin can.
Cid: I laugh everytime I hear his voice. I definitely didn't think of him as sounding like a hick. Crass and loud, yes. Hick, no.
Yuffie: Er... Christie Romano didn't voice the Yuffster this time around? She sounds exactly the same to me. ^^;;
Sephiroth: Even though I've already beaten the game, I haven't done the Sephy challenge yet. After I level up s'more yeah. No comment harhar. ;)

Final Fantasy VIII:

Leon: No complaints from me. I could tell it wasn't David Boreanaz but it didn't really bother me. Leon didn't sound quite as stoic as before but his character seemed more open and playful this time around so...
Seifer: I remember his voice now! Ish, anyway. The voice suit his image (such a wangsta our little Seify's become). The VA's the actor who played Eric on Boy Meets World, right? Sounded like him.
Fuujin: I'm sure the deadpan, one-liners worked better in Japanese,
Raijin: I don't remember!! ><
Selphie: Erm... how'd it go again? She came out waaay in the beginning (during the prologue) so I can't really remember.

Final Fantasy IX:

Vivi: Cute. Maybe a bit too girlish though (and I don't mean in a kiddie way... I mean in a GIRLISH way).

Final Fantasy X/-2:

Yuna, Rikku, and Paine: Just lumping 'em together cause I thought they did a good job. Pretty much sounded like they did in FFX-2 itself. They were adorable as hell though (wings~~).<3
Auron: Ah... Auron.<333 Once again, he sounded just like he did in Final Fantasy X--smexy.

Selphie: Cuteness! Her voice was great! ^_^

Seifer: I thought he did a great job. Just like I imagined Seifer's voice would sound. And, yes, the "lamers" line was a little... weird... :blink:

Vivi: Adorable! He has the cutest little voice! Perfect!

Raijin: I actually liked it. It suited him.

Fujin: Well done. Again, the voice suited her.

Auron: Matt McKenzie does it again! Auron's voice= :drool: :lust: :wub:

Aerith: Ugh... <_< Her voice is completely emotionless in the first few scenes. I really hope it gets better.

Cid: :puke: He sounds like a hick.

Squall: I miss David. :sad: His voice sounds... I don't know... forced? It's like they are trying to be sexy and it isn't working.

Yuffie: I loved it! It really suits her! ^_^

FFVII:
Cloud- LOVED IT!! Steve Burton is perfect for Cloud.

Tifa- I must say, i was a little worried when i heard Rachel Leigh Cook was cast as Tifa's VA, but she did awesome! Her voice really matches the character.

Yuffie- I loved Yuffie's voice! And I thought Christie Romano did Yuffie again too, Key. Either way, I loved Yuffie.

Cid- I was a little blown back by Cid sounding very very southern. Def. something you have to get used to.

Aerith- Ok...well...Mena Suvari did an OK job. I mean I'm not gonna be too hard on her because this is probably her first time doing voice work*just a guess* but, she could've put a little more emotion into Aerith.

Sephiroth- Awesome. I didn't expect it to be that great because I heard that the guy who played Nooj in FFX-2 was going to be Sephy. But he did good!

FFVIII
Leon/Squall- I agree with you FF_Goddess, I miss David! His voice does sound forced or something. He could've been better.

Seifer- I had no problem with his voice. He was good.

Raijin- Kind of annoying. But its not like hes a main character or anything so its not like you have to deal with him for to long lol!

Fuujin- *shrugs* ok.

Selphie- She was good! Even though she only had like two lines in the beginning, she was still good.


FFIX
Vivi- I personally loved Vivi! He is adorable!


FFX/FFX-2
The Gullwings- They were so cute! And I loved how they brought all of their original VA's back for KH2. They did an awesome job, once again!

Auron- Amazing. I loved how Auron's original VA came back to do this game. <3 <3


Thats my take on it. Overall, I think the voice work is pretty good!

Might as well give my two cents on this, seeing as I do love the vast majority of the voice actors in KH. :wub: Don't worry, I'll only ramble on about Cloud and Aerith, because this is a Cleris forum and I'm too lazy to shower everyone in praise. :D


FINAL FANTASY VII

Cloud: I'll say what all others have said before. Stevio-i-o kicks ass. Absolutely perfect for Cloud. He had me falling in love with his Cloud voice all over again from his "I'll get him" line on, and his interaction with Aerith was exactly as I'd imagine it. He has that oh-so-Cloud-esque "tough guy" quality in his voice around characters like Sephiroth/Leon/Tifa, but when he talks to Aerith, he gets all shaky and sounds like he doesn't know what to say. I about squeed myself to death in the "Even if I do go far away..." etc. line. Listen for his tone in the words "far away" -- his voice cracks and he sounds like he's about to cry! :fangirl: Much love to Steve for bringing out Cloud's nervousness around Aerith exactly as I remembered it in FFVII. Many kudos. :gift:

Aerith: Like most of you have pointed out, I was nervous about Aerith's voice after I heard it when Sora is reunited with her, Leon, and Cid. I got worried that she sounded way too flat, but my fears were put to rest when she absolutely NAILED the part with Cloud and Aerith. Mena and Steve worked some magic in that scene. :cleris: I loved how calm and sweet she sounded. That's the oldschool Aerith I remember--she doesn't let on that she's worried about complicated matters. Cloud is a little emo ball in that scene, and seriously let on that he was worried he wasn't ever going to see her again. :sad: But of course, Aerith is Aerith, and reassures him that it's all okay with her optimistic attitude. (the "Well, okay, I understand. Go--get things settled." line made me so happy. And Cloud's reaction is totally classic. :D ) But Mena is doing great for her first try at Aerith. There is just so much to her character, so it's probably hard for an actress to nail her personality believably, but I think she's getting along just fine. ^_^

Tifa: One word: Wowtastic. I don't even have to say anything more. :cheer:

Yuffie: I can definitely dig it. I did like Christie Carlson Romano as Yuffinater, but that doesn't mean I don't like her new VA just as much. I think she sounds a little older, but still maintains her hyperriffic qualities that we know and love. :yuffie:

Cid: I think I'm the only one here who is totally in LOVE with Cid's voice right now. :woot: Holy crap, I would DIE to hear him say the line about the God damn tea. That would just complete my life. :lol:

Sephiroth: Love it, love it, love it. Although I do wish they could have kept Lance Bass for an Easter egg with Sephy singing "Bye Bye Bye." :lol:


FINAL FANTASY VIII

Leon: I miss David. But this guy's all right. I can get used to it pretty well. ^_^

Seifer: Oh hell yes. I about rolled over and died of laughter with the "lamers" line. He was just too damn good. :lmao: Seifer really took me by surprise! I got all worked up and thought Squeenix was going to completely kid-ify him like KHI's Tidus and Wakka, but then that rough, hard voice of his came out and blew me away. I think I actually jumped when he said his first line. :lol: But, again, greatness for Seifer's VA whose name I can't remember.

Raijin: Wootyay! I just loved his voice! I don't think they could have found a better guy for the job.

Fuujin: Double wootyay! I loved how her VA pulled off those "one word" lines, and it actually worked. Again, couldn't really have been better, IMO.

Selphie: Yep, that's our Selph! :fangirl: The only part that bothered me was that they switched it back to TYE-dus instead of TEE-dus. The hell? I've been pronouncing it TEE-dus for four years, it's going to be hard to flip-flop it. Ah well. :\

FINAL FANTASY IX

Vivi: This is another one that I can only summarize in one word: ZOMGWTFBBQTHISRAWKSASS. Being that Vivi is my favorite FF character of all time, I was completely stoked out of my mind hearing him talk. :fangirl:

FINAL FANTASY X

Everybody rocks. Can't say much else. I just loved that they brought all the original VA's back. They are fabulous. :D

I enjoyed every voice from each FF charatcer, but I'm so disappointed in Seph's voice, sounds so dull and boring, snooze fest when he talks, :sad: I like lance so much better even with his so few of lines, they ruin him and now I have to hear him again in AC.

The only thing I didn't like about Cloud was the first shut up he said to Seph, but I really liked the second one he said.

Either then that, perfect :fanboy:

Aerith - Not as bad as everyone kept saying! In the first scene she sounded a bit blocky but as the script continued she got truly comfortable with her part. Mena Suvari did a good job.

Leon - Goodness gracious did I hate it. I laughed my head off when he said "Look over there" in the bailey scene. He just sounded like one of those robotic voices on the macintosh.

Yuffie - She sounds a lot more grown up. Her voice doesn't squeak like it used to. Yay!

Cid - Terrible. I really wanted him to sound more like the Cid of FFX.

Tifa - Pretty good. Rachel Leigh Cook had a good handle on the part.

Cloud - Great! It really fitted!

Yuna, Rikku, and Paine - They sound exactly as they did in X-2 which has its ups and downs.

Sephiroth - Real clean and crisp. His tone really worked with Sephiroth's attitude! ^^

Seifer - It was alright except his "chicken wuss" was rather hallow. C'mon! Show your contempt for Roxas and Zell! lol Also, he kinda sounded like he was 20 and not 15.

Fuujin - Good with her mono-tone. Although, unlike in FF8, she wasn't yelling. lol

Raijin - Eh...not spectacular. His "y'knows" were always kind of awkward sounding.

Vivi - Although I can not say for sure what gender Vivi is, I always presumed Vivi was male so I was taken off guard a bit with such a lady like voice.

Selphie - Meh. Pretty average.

I agree with everybody, I loved the voices! Aerith's voice, I may be adjusting a wee bit too, I still prefer Mandy though.

I have one question....Christy Carlson Romano isn't Yuffie? On IMDB ( http://imdb.com/title/tt0390163/fullcredits ) It says she is, but you can never be sure...

Aerith-Mena did a horrible job, I'm sorry but she sounded so monotone and airheaded at that lol I didn't like it at all.

Vivi-Didn't like it, he didn't sound like I imagined he would. Vivi has a female voice actress, sometimes girls can do voices for young male chars but this didn't sound right, it sounded too much like a girl and vivi is not a girl........... Vivi is one of my fave video game chars besides Aerith

I've yet to see YuRiPa. But considering they're the X-2 VAs, I have no doubt they'll sound great as well.
