Prologue

Traverse Town. It’s kind of a popular town, if your definition of popular is 13 people in 3 Districts and 3 visitors. Probably the most popular world out of all the worlds. Yes, I said worlds. If you don’t know, allow our Key master, our mage, and our knight to explain throughout this story… This story of one character…
The Key master walked around the town, – 1st District to be exact - his two buddies besides him, dragging his keyblade with him. A frown was plastered on his face, and his eyes looked so tired. Tired bags formed under his eyes, as did his other buddy, Donald. Donald blinked his big duck eyes and tried to pick his staff up, but failed miserably, and continued dragging it. Goofy, on the other hand, was as awake anyone could be. In his step were skips, while the other two were…zombie steps.
“Gawrsh. C’mon guys! Aerith, Leon, and Yuffie are here somewhere!” he shouted happily, bouncing up and down a little. The knight looked at the two. Donald blinked and sighed a wheezy sigh. The Keyblade master collapsed onto a near-by chair. Donald collapsed on the chair across from him. Goofy rolled his eyes and plopped down on the floor. “Well, you guys could make your way to the Hotel, you know.” Donald put his head down on the table in between the Keyblade master and him.
In his weird duck voice, he said, “Too tired to move further. Must sleep here…” The duck mage yawned and closed his eyes. The Keyblade master nodded, and his head was soon on the table. Soon enough, they were both snoring loudly, attracting attention from the moogle and two citizens walking around. Goofy looked quite embarrassed – although he did look funny, he never felt embarrassed around other people – and dug his face in his hands.
The snoring went on and on and on and on and on and… You get it. Everyone but the people in the stores and Goofy, Donald and the Keyblade master left the 1st District. It was getting late. Now, the knight with only a shield started to look tired. His eyes flickered closed, and then opened again. He could swear he saw some girl in front of him. Shrugging that off, Goofy closed his eyes. He fell back, snoring like the other two.
But before he did fall asleep, he heard voices.
“Who’re they?” a male voice questioned.
“Three knocked out people. That one over there is the Keyblade master,” a male voice – probably Leon’s – replied. An ‘hn’ escaped the male’s mouth.
“We should take them to the Hotel,” another feminine voice spoke up. It was Aerith’s – calm and cool.
“Yeah,” Leon muttered. Footsteps were heard. The next thing Goofy knew, he felt like he was flying, and he fell asleep.

Chapter One

He flickered his eyes open. He saw a ceiling. The Keyblade master rolled over in the bed, and looked ahead. A blue hat and beady black eyes… They shot open, and both the eyes and the Keyblade master blinked at each other. When they realized who they were, they screamed. Someone slowly opened the door.
“What’s wrong?” It was a male. His hands and eyes were glowing purple. He turned his head to the bed, and twitched. “Oh.” The glowing faded away, and the male looked at the two with blue eyes. “Figured you guys would do that.” A slight smile spread across his face. The Keyblade master jumped off the bed and looked at him.
“Who’re you and why was I in the bed with Donald?!” He shouted. Donald jumped out the bed and glared at both the boy and the Keyblade master. The male looked at the two, and flopped down on the bed.
“You guys were sleeping on the table in the 1st District, so we decided to bring you guys in the Hotel, and we couldn’t put you guys in the same bed. So, Goofy went in Aerith’s room, and we put you two in the same bed,” he started playing his blond hair. The Keyblade master’s eye twitched and he pointed his finger at the male.
“No seriously. I appreciate the explanation, but who’re you and who’s ‘we’?” he asked accusingly. Donald sat on the ground, not wanting to speak.
“Kyo!” a voice came from outside the door. The male – who turned out to be called ‘Kyo’ – turned his head towards the door. It opened and revealed Aerith, Leon and Yuffie. Kyo looked at them, with a little happiness. He then turned his head back to the Keyblade master.
“I’m Kyo Kun Strife. And ‘we’ are Leon, Yuffie and Aerith!” Kyo jumped off the bed, stretching. The Keyblade master turned his eyes to Leon, Yuffie and Aerith.
“Oh. We were looking for you three,” he motioned to the three. Leon stepped up, and leaned against a wall. Aerith sat on a chair, and Yuffie sat on the bed.
“Really, Sora? What for?” Aerith asked. She smoothed her pink dress out. Kyo’s ears perked up.
“You don’t look like a Keyblade master…” he muttered under her breath. Sora the Keyblade master didn’t hear anything. He looked to Aerith.
“Yuffie said something about the underground cavern, and I don’t know where that is…” His voice trailed off. Goofy walked into the room, rubbing his eyes and yawning. Yuffie smiled sheepishly.
“I told him ‘cause I thought it would be ok… I don’t know if it is…” she narrowed her eyes to Leon. He just nodded slightly. Yuffie looked relieved. Kyo looked to Leon and rolled his eyes. Goofy and Donald sat on the far wall, distancing their selves from the others. Only because they had nothing to say. Aerith nodded her head.
“Yes. You know behind the Hotel? There’s a channel and a metal gate. How we get in there is our secret,” Aerith smiled and winked. Sora smirked and then looked to Leon. But before he could say anything, Kyo jumped up in front of him, his brown hair bouncing.
“Hey! Leon told me about your adventure and you’re the Keyblade master! Any chance I can come along with you guys?” he questioned happily. Eyes wide, Sora took a step back. Leon slapped his forehead and sighed. Aerith chuckled and Yuffie smiled. Those three didn’t think he’d come out with the question just like that, especially cause Kyo had been all depressed lately.
“Kyo…” Leon looked up to Kyo. He turned his head to Leon and just smiled.
“Don’t worry. Got it under control,” he said like he knew what Leon was thinking. He then turned back to Sora. Donald scrambled up from where he was and ran over to the two. He shook his head ‘no’ wildly. His face looked so furious; it was funny.
“No! No! This guy isn’t going to come with us! The King told Goofy and I to go with you and only us two!” he complained, running in circles. Kyo looked at him funny and then back to Sora. He narrowed his eyes, not saying anything.
“Guess you won’t need my powers…” he mumbled. The Keyblade master darted his eyes to him and widened his eyes.
“You say…powers?” he asked curiously. Smiling mischievously, Kyo nodded. Yuffie looked up at the two.
“This 15-year-old has really strong powers!” she exclaimed. Donald, Goofy, and Sora looked at Yuffie funny, and then looked to Kyo. Wide-eyed, Donald waddled over to the new guy, and poked him with his staff. Kyo twitched and took a step back.

His gray hoodie was baggy. The hoodie stopped at his waist, covering a small part of his black jean shorts. A small chain hung from the side, with a silver ring hanging from it. On is neck, he wore the same necklace that Leon wore. On his finger, he wore the same silver ring that was found on his Jean’s chain. On both ears he wore one small black hoop earring.
He tilted his head to side and looked at the trio. “You wanna see my powers…?” he questioned. Donald shook his head furiously ‘no’.
Kyo spread a slight smile across his face. “By powers, you mean magic!” he demanded, looking crazily at Kyo. At the sight of him, the new guy lost his slight smile to an amused one. He started cracking up. After five minutes of laughter, the new guy brushed same black hair behind his ear.
“No, by powers Yuffie means, real powers. Not that magic stuff,” he explained. Showing Donald his right hand, it started to glow a dark purple. Donald squealed and ran behind Goofy. Goofy looked at the new guy, blinking. That funny chuckle came out before he started talking.
“Why’s it glowing purple like that?” Kyo just smiled.
“To find out, you have to come with me to the Secret Waterway Cavern. Or,” he shrugged his shoulders, “it’s your loss.” Sora, Goofy, and Donald shot glances at each other. Leon, Aerith, and Yuffie were out the door, the one where the balcony is, and waited. Whether Sora & Co. came, they would all leave for the Secret Water Way anyway. Sora stepped up to the plate.
“Ok, we’ll go. But even if they are strong powers -” Interrupted.
“WE’RE STILL NOT LETTING YOU COME WITH US!!” Donald screamed, jumping from where he was. Kyo fell back towards the wall; Donald’s scream was so loud. Kyo scratched his head and shrugged again.
“Ok. But, you’re gonna be missing out something extraordinary…” he walked out towards the door, and jumped down from the balcony. Aerith, Yuffie, and Leon followed him. Sora & Co. darted looks at each other. Donald looked quite furious. The Keyblade master sighed and sat on a chair.
“Donald… Do you think you could’ve been more nicer…?” he asked, rubbing his head. Goofy nodded his head and sat on the floor. Donald shook his head.
“We were only here for items! Goofy and I are with you to look for the King, not to be fooling around with some people we’ve just met!” he exclaimed, still furious. Sora rolled his eyes and looked at the metal gate that was blocking an entryway…

Kyo was juggling five rocks along with some water he picked up in the path of the Secret Water Way when Sora & Co. had arrived. He narrowed his eyes towards them, and then put his attention back to the elements that he was juggling. The mural ahead of him made him lose concentration; it was just the hypnotizing. Leon leaned against the wall, Aerith sat on the edge, putting her feet in the shallow water, and Yuffie stood close to the mural, shooting ninja stars at Kyo, who had no clue she was. When one of them swished by her head, the new guy turned his attention to the female ninja. Looking, innocent, Yuffie put her hands behind her back.
Kyo chuckled. “Lucky that missed me!” he shouted playfully at Yuffie. Yuffie just shrugged her shoulders and pulled out another ninja star, slipping it in between her index and middle finger. Sora watched what they were going to do. Donald and Goofy were off to the side, whispering about stuff. Jumping out of the way, Aerith headed over to the wall.
“Now, Yuffie will be throwing ninja stars at you, Kyo. You have to dodge them, only using your powers,” Leon explained, emotionless. Kyo turned his head to look at him.
“Come on! Put more emotion into that!” he laughed. Leon looked at him, an eyebrow raised.
“Does that really need emotion?” he asked. Kyo shrugged and turned back to look at Yuffie. Nodding her head, Yuffie started throwing one ninja star at a time. And every time, Kyo would block the ninja stars from hitting him with either small stone, ball of water, fire or he would use the air to reflect it.
After that small practice was over, Yuffie started throwing four at a time. Kyo’s hands started glowing dark purple and the rocks from the ground, leading to the mural, were pulled out, to destroy the ninja stars. Although, in the process, the rocks were destroyed and couldn’t be put back into the ground…
After that, Yuffie nodded her head, and she was done. Sora looked at Kyo in awe at what he had done. It was…interesting to Goofy and Donald. They had stopped talking to watch. Although, it didn’t impress Donald much. He still looked upset.
Yuffie retreated to Leon’s wall spot, while Leon walked, Gunblade in his hand. Sora’s eyes went wide as he watched what was gonna happen. Leon and Kyo were going to spar, except that Kyo had no sword. He had two Tonfas that were made out of blades. He made them glow dark purple.
“Don’t kill me…” Kyo whispered. “Squall.” A chuckle came from his. Leon twitched.
“It’s Leon,” he said, running towards him, getting ready to strike Kyo. He was so close to slicing him, when he took a step to the side. He swiftly put up both Tonfas and blocked. Kyo’s eyes glowing purple now, the ground started to crumble beneath Leon. He took a step back, jumped over the hole, and was close to hitting Kyo again. He lifted his hands up, and a rock wall appeared around him. Leon hit the wall, cracking it. He pulled back his Gunblade and came face-to-face to a smirking Kyo.
“Thought I said don’t kill me,” he muttered, pushing him back. Leon smirked back.
“That would’ve been an accident,” he said to him. Sora’s mouth was wide open; this was interesting. Donald had turned his attention from the spar, to Goofy. They started talking again. Aerith and Yuffie had seen them spar so many times, it was getting old. So, they were just talking, Yuffie bouncing around.
Kyo directed his hand towards the water, hands and eyes glowing purple. A huge ball of water emerged from the path, and Kyo directed his hand to Leon. A smirk spread across his face. “Whoops,” he simply said, letting the water fall over Leon. But to him, it was a simple dodge and roll. The water evaporated into a big puddle and then sank into the ground. Kyo narrowed his eyes to him, and wiped the smirk from his face. Kyo ran straight towards him, aiming for a punch in the face.
He dodged from the punch, but didn’t notice the kicks in his hands and stomach. The Gunblade flew from his hands, rolling near Sora. The kick in the stomach made him feel like he was going to throw up. Kyo patted his head, aimed for a knee in the stomach, just to make it hurt even more. But he didn’t know that a little kitty was sneaking up on him.
Just as he was about to knee him, the yellow cat pounced onto Kyo, catching him off guard. He missed the knee, and fell back. The water softened her fall, and he looked towards his head… He sighed and then looked at Leon. He smirked just a little, and walked towards his Gunblade and Sora. Pulling the cat off his head, Kyo looked at it in the eyes.
“Electra… We were in the middle of a spar! You always interrupt in the middle of a spar!” he complained, his face looking depressed. In response, the cat named Electra just purred and jumped out his hands. He trotted over to the others.
Kyo walked over to Sora, Donald, and Goofy who were now grouped together. He widely smiled at them. “So, now can I come with you guys?” he asked, hopeful. Donald turned his head away from him, crossing his arms. Goofy nodded and Sora smiled, with a nod.
“Sure!” he exclaimed, happy to have a fighter in his party. Donald perked up.
“No! No! He can’t come with us! I just cleared that up earlier!” he shouted. “His powers are okay, but NO!” his voice echoed throughout the whole cavern. Kyo looked at him funny, and glanced at Goofy and Sora. Sora just shrugged, and nodded again. Donald had narrowed his eyes then, and saw Sora nod.
“No! Besides, there’s no room for him on the Gummi Ship!” he explained, in a very loud, stubborn voice. Kyo made a face and turned towards Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith. They said nothing, only looking at the argument.
“You’re supposed to be helping!” he looked straight at Leon. “I know you want me to leave. So, hurry up and help me get me in their party!” he crossed his arms, and smiled. Leon looked at him. Shrugging his shoulders, Leon turned to Donald.
“The King did tell you to look for me… And for that, I am in charge,” he stated. Donald looked at him, blinking his eyes. He shook his head furiously.
“No! That’s no fair! He just said to look for you!” he stomped his feet.
“That doesn’t mean I’m not in charge of -” Interrupted.
“Fine! I’ll let him come! Only because I don’t want to keep shouting!” Donald gave up, throwing his hands up in the air. His face was as red as a lobster. Kyo jumped in the air with joy, clapping his hands. Leon kept a straight face, while Aerith and Yuffie giggled. Sora smiled widely.
“Now we get to find Kairi and Riku with an even stronger party!” he paused and looked at Donald and Goofy, “…And find your King.” Goofy nodded and chuckled.
“Yup! Now, let’s pick up the items, and go! This adventure should be pretty fun!” he exclaimed, happily. Sora looked at Donald, who seemed pretty upset with the situation. He crossed his arms, and tapped his…webbed feet.
Kyo narrowed his eyes to the cavern with an elevator, seeing several shadows. He quickly turned back to look at Sora, Donald, Goofy, Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith. A small smile played his lips - although it looked unsure. “Yeah… Let’s go.”
