Hello everyone!

I wanted to ask you something..

I remember when I first played FFVII, I thought it was a beautiful love stroy between Cloud and Aerith, and nothing else.
I thought Tifa loved Cloud, but that was it. He didn't love her, he loved Aerith. :envy:

It wasn't until I started talking to other people that had played the game and (nowadays) browsing through the internet, that I first heard about Cloud and Tifa together. I couldn't understand why anyone would think that, but since there were so many CloTi fans, I thought I had missed something while playing the game. ;)

So my question is:
Was the "Love Triangle" done on purpose?
Did they want fans to not really know for sure who Cloud loved?
Or was it just an invention done by fans?
