The_Lover_of_Aeris - April 1, 2006 12:00 PM (GMT)
Well mine has To be Sephiroth. Who is yours

ladystrife - April 1, 2006 12:19 PM (GMT)
has to be Sephiroth by a mile even though he killed poor Aeris he is the best and then probably Kuja  :peace:

Anti-R - April 1, 2006 04:47 PM (GMT)

Beh, I hated Kefka. But I have respect for him, he was the only FF villian to EVER actual succeed in what he set out to do.

Anti-R - April 1, 2006 06:56 PM (GMT)
My favorite antagonists were BoF3's Myria, BoF4's Fou-Lu, and most of the antagonists in Xenogears (Grahf, Ramses, Miang, Krelian) and Prince Luca of Suikoden II.

I'm waiting eagerly for a FF villain to be there in the list. Here's for hoping XII would give me that.

Paladin's Heart - April 2, 2006 04:03 AM (GMT)
Sephiroth, but I really liked Kefka too. His laugh was the best villian laugh! -evil cackle-

But I abolutely LOVE Lavos from Chrono Trigger. He's just...liekwhoa : O

Bloodbath - April 2, 2006 10:07 AM (GMT)
It's between Seifer and Sephiroth... kinda hard for me to choose. :P Though Seifer is more about a pity thing... he was so proud and confident that he would fulfill his dream that when he failed at that, I kinda felt bad for him.

I'm not surprised that a lot of people chose Sephiroth... though I have yet to know who the heck Kefka is.

Kefka is the main villian of Final Fantasy VI and actually suceeds in his plans to conquer the world.

Lucas_FFXI - April 3, 2006 05:04 AM (GMT)
No Kefka in this poll? Oh well. My vote's on Seifer.

Pyra Kurai Akaidra - April 3, 2006 10:24 AM (GMT)
Seifer, because he made QUITE an impression on me in my dreams...

Please excuse me for what I'm gonna say: HE F***ING NEARLY SLICED OFF MY ARM IF IT WEREN'T FOR SQUALL SAVINGE ME!!!!

Other then that, I would choose Sephiroth but Seifer stood out to me. It took me a while to like him back...

goddess_in_pink07 - April 4, 2006 01:17 AM (GMT)
Well, i simply love Sephiroth, but i really like Kuja. But, over all i'd perfere Sephiroth. :D He's just so darn evil!

Dagger - April 7, 2006 03:26 PM (GMT)
^_^ Hmm I guess either Kuju or Sephiroth.. the others were just boring

Tifa Lockhart - April 30, 2006 01:40 PM (GMT)
Sephiroth was the best by far (in my opinion). He was just SO COOL!!....And his hair rocks!!

Sarah - June 1, 2006 01:44 PM (GMT)
sephiroth is great i like his attitude

Tenshi_Aerith - June 1, 2006 04:02 PM (GMT)
I pick sephiroth, he's one of those evil guys you hate and wish would just die but you don't wanna see him dead...

Resha - June 1, 2006 11:57 PM (GMT)
still Sephiroth. even if he's evil and all, but without him we won't know Cloud loves Aerith! :cleris:

Tenshi_Aerith - June 2, 2006 12:37 AM (GMT)
True Sephiroth is all evil in many different ways but he did help in finding some site of a fanon couple right?

Dark Angel - June 2, 2006 01:54 AM (GMT)
aah, sephiroth most definatly

Tenshi_Aerith - June 2, 2006 02:14 AM (GMT)
Hey I just though of it, Sephiroth was picked in Filter for the Favorite FF Villain!!!

Vincent_Valentine - June 21, 2006 03:57 AM (GMT)
Sephiroth gets my vote for Favorite Bad Guy. He has awesome silver hair, an extremely long sword, killer attacks. What more can you ask for?

Sk8ierBoi - June 29, 2006 10:11 PM (GMT)
I already know Sephiroth will win this vote lol. My vote goes to Sephiroth because he is evil and cool. I loved him in the KH's and FF series aswell. He IS the best bad guy.

Meggie - July 8, 2006 08:49 PM (GMT)
Sephiroth all the way :lust: !!! Kuja is my second favourite

Kuki Prower - July 8, 2006 09:36 PM (GMT)
Its so obvious Sephiroth would win because this is a Final Fantasy VII forum, so many biased responses

But I picked Kuja, because I loved his attitude and the way he handled his enemies. Plus he was the only one who could use the destructive "Ultima". And because true evil wears a thong and can hide a monkey tail in it! :lmao:

Pyra Kurai Akaidra - July 8, 2006 10:37 PM (GMT)
I'm not surprise that Sephiroth is in the lead.

LOL! I agreed with the thong part, though his Ultima is useless to me with Eiko summoning Carbuncle for Reflect. Dunno why people said Kuja and his Silver Dragon was hard in Disk 3.

LadyNelZelpher - July 9, 2006 02:40 AM (GMT)
Sephy of course!
And I also like Riku when he is bad! Even though that is KH.. :P

Demos Maus - July 9, 2006 05:06 AM (GMT)
Seph! He has the bad guy look down in general. And flawless sliver hair!

Ultima just finsihes off the party at the end of both battles against him, so I assume its pretty powerful :P

Scott - July 9, 2006 03:07 PM (GMT)
I voted Ultimecia. And noticed I'm the only one who has done so o_0

I think she seemed pretty nuts, it adds to the whole villan-esque character. She warped space-time which screwed up the whole 4th disc, so she had some effect on the world.

It also affected the villan because the baddy was female this time. It's not something you see a lot, so it's a bit more effective.

And she has Griever.

Meatwad - July 9, 2006 09:19 PM (GMT)
I like Sephroth for he was so tormented by his own past to where he just came out so demented and set out to destroy the world due to such anger he held.. it was too cool!

oh yes! I WUB KUJA! :lust: Man, he's a dang cute bad guy! WoOt! :woot: :fangirl:

carl - July 10, 2006 01:25 AM (GMT)
my fav bad guy is seymour he was amazing and he should have lived. long live seymour!

The_Drizzle - July 10, 2006 01:48 AM (GMT)
This thread is biased, my vote would have been Kefka.
He down right poisoned an entire country, thats bad.... Then tore the world apart remaking it killing countless amounts of innocents. Yeah, thats a bad guy for ya. Pure evil which makes him my favorite.

Carmen - July 26, 2006 03:53 PM (GMT)
Well, it looks like Sephiroth gets the most votes. ^_^

I had found Kuja my favorite because he really wasnt such a bad character. Although driven with anger at the fact of him being created just like the black mages he killed and that he was only a "prototype" compared to Zidane.

This kind of reminded me of Sephiroth's story. On the first disc he read about the Ancients once having the planet. Since he thought he was the son of Jenova who was an "ancient", he thought the planet should have been his and was mad at the humans for taking the planet.

I dont know does is sound a little similar between the two?

As for Ultimecia, I just thought she was kind of cool at her being the most powerful sorceress and of them all. And the fact that she had manipualted Rinoa into causing some choas by releasing Adel from her seal on Disc three....okay no more story telling

Asuka - July 28, 2006 08:38 AM (GMT)
Carmen! I love your siggies. Tekken ^^

anyway.

Sephiroth! gotta love Sephiroth! I dont approve of his Aeris killing policy though

I also like Ultimecia & Kefka Ultimecia was a pain to kill and Kefka was just a plain mad man

Thanks! I get try to get you one if you want one :gift:

Ultemecia took me hours to beat. She was just as bad as Omgea Weapon!!! There was this one weird but powerful attacks she kept using and had killed my party in an insant.

Sephiroth.....I agree with you about him killing Aeris. And Sehpiroth also took forever. Its like bosses that take me the longest to be makes it fun out of a good challenge.

I dont think Necron from FFIX counts but I still say he was cool too! ^_^

Key - July 29, 2006 01:29 AM (GMT)
Sephiroth, no contest! XD~

So ebil. Ebil and sexy. I liked Seifer too tho. ;)

Seifer was okay. Though he did seem to be very egotistical. And in my opinion, he wasnt too much of a villian since all he was basically doing was being a Sorceress's pet! (Like I said JMO)

Flower_Girl - July 29, 2006 08:12 PM (GMT)
Sephiroth was the best villian. Not because I liked him, but because everytime I fought him I felt and intense hatered and disdain. He is the kinda villian I felt NO sympathy for what-so-ever! And so everytime I went to find that silver haired jerk it was like I was really there.
Sephiroth...if I ever see him...he'd better run and fast.... :P

TidusBlankety - July 30, 2006 12:03 AM (GMT)
NONE

KEFKA WAS THE BIGGEST BEST AND BADDEST BAD GUY EVER!!!!!

Aeris007 - August 12, 2006 05:46 AM (GMT)
I cast my vote for Sephiroth.. and there's plenty of reasons why Sephiroth gets so many votes. Inside this poll.. inside the gamefaqs best villain poles.. inside any poles dealing with the best villians.

Let's me see if i can flesh out why i think Spehiroth wins alot.

First. I'd like to start off with the comparisson always made between him and Kefka.
Look.. Kefka was crazy. He looked like a Clown.. and yes. he destroyed the world. At best.. that makes him the most destructive person out of the two. But lets not forget some things. The world (in some form or antoher) still existed after Kefka "destroyed it." And.. Kefka has very little character developement as a whole. Most people Cling to him as being the most villanous bad guy of the Final Fantasy Series becaue he :destroyed the world."

In pure means of destruction. I think Sin.. you know.. that evil giant killling monster from FFX.. has being killing off the civilizations of Spira for a thousand years... and all in the meantimes casuing fear and despair, wins as the most destructive... but i digress...

About Sephiroth. What makes him such a great villain is more than what he destroys.. more than whoe he kills.. more than any single thing that he has done. Sephritoh is a sublime character.. his whole adds up more than his parts.

For isntance.. this is how we are introduced to Sephiroth:

1. He is a mysterious character that is killing people left and right.. but the main characters (and the player as well) only see his aftermath. Its like a suspense film.. where one's imagination is left to go wild. IS he a vicious killer? Doe he stalk his prey? The fear of the unknown is usually the ultimate fear.

2. He kills the main badguy character up to this point in the game: President Shrina. So whoever Sephiroth is.. the game is showing the character that he is significantly more "evil" than the main evil presented thus far in FFVII.

3. And then the twist comes in. The Player learns that Sephiroth was a pretty much normal good guy. He was a hero.. and (most importanly) a hero to the main character, Cloud. Also remember, up to this point.. that Cloud has shown himself to be a rather uncarring hard ass.. and for someone like Cloud to look up and admire another.. in fact, even want to be him puts Sephrioth not only on the "normal everyday guy pedastal" but at the same time badasses (Cloud's) "idol pedastel." Sephiroth is Glorified like a god before he even thinks he's one.

4. And then.. (and why i disagree with the poster above) the player is made to care for.. to pity Sephiroth. IN Nibelheim, at the reactor, in the basement, Sephiroth seems distraught, almsot to the point of Crying, and childlike hatred simply flowing from him. They messed with him, experiemented on him.. made him into a freak. You feel sorry for him.

5. And then.. the hero, the idolized man who finds out his life to be a fraud. Goe's crazy. Kills a town of people, defies all of his friends, and most importnatly, lets down Cloud (from Cloud's perspective.) And turns into a viscious killer.

6. But.. he is killed..or so Cloud seems to think. yet obviously, this charcter has returned. So again.. Sephiroth enters the shadows... enters the "supsense" area. But now.. the player is exposed to a wide variety and complexity of this suspensful nature. They are allowed to view Sephiroth how they want to view him.. what they would think as an evil character.

7. Then.. the final nails are put in. We see his compassion, his human side is gone. He is righteous (as he believes so). He is able to control Cloud, he makes Cloud (the game's badass and main character) a mere puppet for him. If you are a Cleris (which all of us here are i beleive), He kills off the love interest, to both hurt Cloud, stop her, and all at the same time Think he is doing something good for himself (and in a twisted way) for CLoud, his puppet, his "clone." He causes the main character (a cahracter who seems to not raelly care for much at all) to feel grief.

8. to wrap things up... Alot of why Sephiroth seems so evil is because of his connection to Cloud, how he personally affects Cloud, and not jsut the party as a whole. Since the player plays as Cloud, we identify with him. And the villian, thus.. is affecting us, and not jsut the storyline. that is why Sephiroth is my favorite villian, and maybe why he is considered one of (if not the) best villain of all time. With most of these other choices.. they are either to removed from the main characters to feel for them. Or (and what i think most important,) the storyline shows deep compassion for them well after their destructive implements have already been shown. With Sephiroth, we are shown his compassionate (and feeling sorry for him side) rather immedeitely when we are first truly introduced to the character. His ultimate evilness (i think personaified in his hateful, smiteful look while killing the innocent Aeris) happens well after we are meant to feel compassionate for him. By this point.. no one feels sorry for Sephiroth. We want him to die. We want him to get whats coming to him. Yet we never lose respect for his power or awe.

P.S. plus he is drawn in a cool anime style.
