Hey guys, from my FF Uematsu obession, I'd thought I'd create this little poll. Now we all know that a battle system mainly makes or breaks an RPG, but also we need a very catchy and upbeat track to go with it. So I created this poll.

My personal favourite is IX's battle theme. I just adore it because it the feel of it gives back the "fantasy" feeling that VII and VIII didn't give us because of them being more futuristic. Also because I love the electric guitar solo during it, that gives us a tiny little modern feel. But this maybe also because Zidane is my fave FF hottie! :lust:

Anyways, what about you guys?

FFIX battle music all the way! :lol:

i love ff9 battle music soo much its awsome but ff7 just wins me over everytime i hear :woot: it soo ff7 gets my vote :whistle:

Haha, I love VII's music but IX wins for me. Maybe I shouldn't have put VII in because of bias love to VII? :whistle:

Believe it or not I liked VIII's battle music. The normal one, that is. Boss music is bleh.

IX is a good runner up.

I loved the music in FF8, the battle one was super. Laguna's battle theme was awesome too. ^_^

I liked Final Fantasy's regular battle theme.

I liked FFVII's Boss Battle theme along with Jenova's last battle theme.

And I liked FFVIII's Man With a Machine Gun battle theme.


There are probably alot more I liked too but I just forgot them. o.O;

FFIX! That has a catchy little tune! And plus it was a modern, PSX version of some of the older games battle themes!

The boss battle music I liked the most was FF7. Anyone tried whistling it?

The problem is a lot of people here aren't old-schoolers like me! At least I'm assuming...it wouldn't be too much of a stretch since a lot of the new FF playing generation are those who came in after 7. I think 6's battle music pwned. 4's music was great too, especially the battle music fighting the Four Emporers. Hell, I still listen to the soundtrack!

Yeah, I know. I've played FFI, FFII and FFIV and heard FFV's and FFVI's musics too, but I still like more of the normal FFIX battle theme, but I have to admit; I loved FFII's boss battle musics and FFIV's. :)

Well, it's battle themes, right? I played FFI, II, IV, V and VI, but they're not that good for me.

Of all RPGs, my favorite Battle themes were from BoF4... in the Empire.

FFVI has the best world map music (both in World of Balance and World of Ruin). Xenogears comes a close second.

I'm a great old schooler! :D I've got all of the FFs bar III and XI. But yeah, I'm just really drawn to IX's :P Out of the classics, I would have to say IV is my fave from them. You can hear it being more like an orchestra performance that the others plus its nice and catchy.

Favourite battle theme from all old school RPGs? Phantasy Star II.

I'm old schooler! Believe me, theres LOTS here than more than you think. I loved FF4's battle theme. That shit was liekwhoa. Zeromus' battle theme got my heart racing and got me into that battle.

Definatly 10! The music is so.... cool! I just love it! Especially when you run into a normal battle, and they play the one music. I love it! :P

IX for me. Nobuo said it was his favorite, and it really shows. :D It's like each song has it's own soul--really really vibrant and gripping. I love it. ^o^

Definitely IX for me. The music was so... invigorating! Though FF6 special boss battle music was probably the awesomest (not a word) battle tune ever.

No really. I love Final Fantasy Mystic Quest's battle theme and the game itself. Even though it was a "kiddie" version, I really loved that game. I named the Main Character RALPH! (That's lyke pwnage, yo)

FF VII's was the best hands down. 2nd goes to FF VIII and 3rd to IX.

I've only played some of FFI, and I've completed FFVII-FFX-2.

I chose VII. Those Who Fight Further makes for perfect boss music, J-E-N-O-V-A has thr right creepiness for fighting something equally creepy and One Winged Angel is a masterpiece.

Those Who Fighter Further is one of my favourite boss pieces in RPGs. It gives a hard feeling of how you're in a tight situation and that you need escape quickly.
