I've finally finished working on my third Cleris video "Whispers Through Memory". It's 4 minutes long around 30MB and to the song "Memories" from Within Temptation.
"Whispers" is a Cloud&Aeris(Aerith) romance video, using footage from Final Fantasy 7 and Advent Children.
I wanted to show that even though Aeris is dead, she and Cloud continue to reach out for each other and that Clouds memories enable him to meet her again. I used less fancy scene changes than in "God's Hands" and tried to capture the power of the song with more blendings and some fast scene changes. Btw. these beats were killing me, I tried my best to get most of them without becoming annoying in the process.

Stern, you have truetruetruex995968999 skill. Even from "God's Hands" I was more than impressed. Now, this... guh-heez, I don't even know where to begin with! I was in COMPLETE AWE throughout my whole viewing! Pure excellence -- everything was 100% perfect. I was also amazed at how all the actions matched the beat perfectly! So astounding! My gawds, phenomenal job at ALL areas... perfect song, perfect portrayal, perfect flow... it was simply better than chocolate (and I NEVER made a comparison like that before o_0;)~! Plus, the song fits SO WELL with the Cloud/Aeris relationship. You really captured the idea of Cloud's memories engulfing him into his Aerissy sensations -- other than the video being eye-catching, the depth inside it had its countless points as well! Let me say, you really gave a decent mixture of visual appeal and great content that actually follows the lyrics to the song... and that is usually a difficult task for someone to do. Usually it was either one way or the other -- but you did BOTH in an outstanding manner. I was ALSO veryvery impressed that you got a lot of scenes to support that Cloud still has his memories of Aerith -- like, every time he was approaching trouble, all he had to do was think of Aerith's memories, and TA-DA ~ motivated!Cloud. ^_^ Your video instills that detail powerfully; excellent ~ just excellent, I say! :D It really made me realize a hulluva sweetness towards the two and how their bonds from before still give impact now. I ESPECIALLY loved how you started&ended the AMV. Very slick. ;3 I can tell you really put alotta snazzy effort into this, and I really appreciate it because you have made my day with your absolutely WONDERFUL skill&steez. First of all, your choice of music was excellent. It's so hauntingly gorgeous, and the movie clips just flow so beautifully with it.

Oh my...and the effects and transitions you put in were PERFECT. They blew my mind away...! I'm in complete awe! :cheer:
I absolutely love how you blended the scenes from FFVII with AC. I never realized just how similar so many of these scenes from the two are... :o
Also, the interchanging of the scenes was an incredibly awesome idea.

The only tiny little flaw that caught my attention was that the movie ended a bit... suddenly. Maybe you could have added a little more fading to the last clip there. Other than that...it was completely perfect!

I can't imagine all the editing you must have done for this music video though. Simply amazing! It's definitely one of those that I'll watch over and over again. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with all of us here. Please, you must make more!

I'm truly speechless.. it has to be the best AMV I've seen so far.
What I loved about it is how you did something completly new and started using many effects and lots of images together. I loved that!
It lets you compare many moments and realise how much he thinks about her.
The ending gave me chills.. when you see him turning around to see her! THAT WAS AMAZING!!
And when he holds her hand and you hear "till the end of time..".. that almost made me start crying..

"Memories" brought me to tears the first 5 times I heard it, it is so sad and still has so much power. The perfect song for a (Cleris) music video. You're right. I thought so too and actually tried around with it but it only made it all blurry. I don't think I will try again on this because right now I'm just damn happy to have finally finished it, but maybe at midnight an idea will pop into my mind...
However, new projects will take a looong while because working on this one convinced me finally to get a new program instead of WindowsMovieMaker :rabid3: and understanding this can only be tried during my next holidays.

This is actually the only scene I planned from the very beginning and one of the main reasons I just had to use AC for this video. I'm so glad they finally reached each other there...

@Lynn: I checked it again and it works for me. If this is the only file you're having troubles downloading with I can upload it somewhere else, but technically it should be the same. It's a try at least if nothing else works. Well, you know a lot more about these things than I, just let me know if I can try something that may help.

Damn! Is the problem about viewing or about downloading? - I kinda got confused there. If the file is broken or something...is there something I can try? It was making problems on my fathers media player, too, even though it didn't crash and this is not what I want.

I LOVE IT!!! Stern, you've outdone yourself! :hyper: I really really especially liked the hand reach bits you used, I think it's so creative how you merged the ff7 hand reach with the AC hand reach and just about all the other scenes you edited so well.

I'm not too big a fan of special effects in MVs, so all that nifty effects thing wasn't much to my liking, but IMO you used them really well in this one so it isn't as annoying as some other videos I've seen. ^_^

LOVED every second of it, went really well with the music and -- please make more!!! :hyper:

Hhm, I love effects as long as they support the story and don't replace it. I just hate it when they are to "hard" - like most of WMMs scene changing effects. So I only use some of them. But I would like to use more light or colour effects and of course more professional looking combinations of scenes. Anyway, I'm glad you liked it nonetheless. :huggle:

You wasn't the first to ask :D . I also checked the download it still works.

Better not. This video convinced me more than anything never to use this program again. If you have other possibilities use them, if not, well try it out but half of your time you'll have to spend fixing the bugs, dealing with its crashes and and and... It's annoying as hell. Besides, you should be able to do everything WMM can do, with every other program. There is not much positive to say about it ecxept that it's easy to understand.

Well, I have a disk with some programs and I'm using one of them. I don't like Movie Maker because of one reason: once I opened a file to work with and it was cut to pieces. I was confused and closed this program. That was two years ago as far as I remember. I was n00b at those kind of things then. But I haven't even opened it since that time.
