Description: New Footage

~Fury Brand~ - December 8, 2004 11:51 AM (GMT)
FF7AC Reunion was updated today with a link to some brief new footage of Itadaki Street Special.

It's brief but I think it's so cute *squee* Cloud even walks with Aerith!

Thank you for sharing it, Fury Brand.
[ If I write it right. ]

Enima - December 8, 2004 12:53 PM (GMT)

Wah...Comelnya!!!!! (hahaha... it's Malay for cute :P )
It's so cute!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing it with us :) .
I wonder if it will come to Malaysia (unless it did) .

wilhelm - December 8, 2004 02:32 PM (GMT)
LOL, it looks like they actually put little love triangle things into Itadaki Street as well

Aerith: Who are you going to be cheering on, Cloud? Me or Tifa?
Tifa: Me, of couse! Right, Cloud?

~Fury Brand~ - December 8, 2004 02:45 PM (GMT)
Cloud " ... "

Lol wilhelm

No problem Toxo and Enima :) It is so cute indeed *^_^* Comelnya, I like that word Enima *adds it to vocabulary* Cute, Comelnya, cute, Comelnya ...

How is it pronounced though?

Wilhelm that little scene with Cloud with Aerith and Tifa heads over him did look love trianglish I think  Maybe it really is and the points screen with love hearts next to points is part of it, that would be fun

You all call yourselves C/A Fanboys/girls and you havn't even commented on the blatent and obvious C/A evidence  :D

But seriously, go through the clip scene by scene and notice who's standing where and with whom.

Very honestly, I haven't downloaded it yet. I'm on a phone modem and downloading can be painful.

Would you mind elaborating on this evidence? BTW, welcome to the forums! :D

~Fury Brand~ - December 9, 2004 12:13 AM (GMT)
Aly - At the beginning of the trailer many characters are gathered in an open area and are walking around. Cloud is walking with Aerith :) Also OMG I just caught this thanks to Sir DQ's advice to go through the clip scene by scene, Squall and Rinoa are walking together too :o I'm not sure if it's evidence but it certainly is cute :D

Oh and yes welcome to the forums Sir DQ :)

Awww.... thanks, FB and Sir DQ! :D That's the first I've heard about that! Now I will have to download it!

Remember what Clorith told us, however - that none of the FF7 or AC team were involved with Itadaki Street, and that it was developed by the Enix branch of Square. I don't think we can look to Itadaki Street for any real evidence, from what Clorith has told us. She said she would document that for us when she has the time, too.

However, it *IS* cute and I'd love to see it! :D

Sir DQ - December 9, 2004 12:28 AM (GMT)
Many thanks for your gracious welcomes, I've been a lurker ever since the board opened and thought it was finally time to join up.

And about my suggestion, I only piped up because I was surprised no one else had, since I have not been following the games development I was unaware of the actual staff involved in development.

Of course this trailer means I now want this game more than anything EVER!

Andina - December 9, 2004 01:09 AM (GMT)
Aww, poor Aly has 56k? :(

Just because I feel so sorry for you, I took few screenshots of the scenes where you can see Cloud, Aerith and Tifa, just in case it take you too long (or anyone else with a slow connection) to load. The quality of the piccies might not be so good but that's because the trailer itself doesn't look all that good. So don't blame me! :P
I don't have any good picture editing programs either, so I couldn't do anything to them... <_<

But I'm starting to feel bit sorry for Tifa. You can see in the first screenshot that I posted that Tifa is standing all alone in the top left part of the screenshot, while Cloud and Aerith are together in the middle.

But now I'm even *more* anxious to download the trailer! Give me two hours and I'll tell you how I like it!

Seriously, though... thank you!

I have dial-up, too, so forget downloading the trailer... :(

Thank you for the screenshots, Andina!!! :D

I don't feel sorry for her at all...

In the 3rd screenshot, does anyone know what the text says (where Aerith and Tifa are talking)?

Tifa: Me, of couse! Right, Cloud?

Well if what Wilhelm said earlier is correct...

Aerith: Who are you going to be cheering on, Cloud? Me or Tifa?
Tifa: Me, of couse! Right, Cloud?

They are tearing poor Cloud apart in that game. ^_^

Let me guess...

"Will you two leave me alone for once..."

But it has to be something amusing considering what kind of a game it is. ^_^

Real_Emotion - December 9, 2004 04:51 AM (GMT)
lol, very cute!

Heheh, Chibi Cloud and Aeris are so adorable! They're walking and standing next to eachother while Tifa is either no where to be seen, or at a far off corner!

Clorith - December 9, 2004 05:38 AM (GMT)
Eh? Andine, why do your screens look so different from mine? Mine look a LOT sharper. Is yours the mpg version??

Yeah, no point using Itadaki as evidence, it's just for fun! Like watching Cloud and Aerith walking around together is fun! ^_^

Well, I'm sure Marlene could get those two together. ^_^

But Barrifa?
Wouldn't...umm...Tirret be better? Maybe not.

Bafa? Bifa? Tifarret? Oh my, how could they be together if we don't know what to call them. ^_^

Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Photoshop Elements... Adobe Photoshop is the best if you can afford it at about $700. Photoshop Elements has the most frequently used parts of Photoshop at about $120, so it's still quite good.

Sefie - December 10, 2004 06:26 PM (GMT)
Hmmm, I had a thought. Somebody said earlier we couldn't use Itadaki Street because it was made by Enix. But isn't that the same situation with the commercial? It was made by an outside company. Why would Square allow Enix to mis-represent anything, especially the love triangle. I think IS is pertinent

Clorith - December 10, 2004 06:33 PM (GMT)
Oh, I found sharper screencaps here!

http://aerith.s39.xrea.com/oekaki/data/IMG_000146.jpg

Edit: But you have to understand that their main website has Cloud with Tifa, though the banner to it has him next to Aerith. I think they just want to put him with both to make everyone happy.

I haven't gone looking for the development team, but Itadaki is being made by this company called Armor Project, according to Young GanGan.

Armor Project? Interesting... was that an outside company contracted to produce it by the Enix branch? I'd still love to hear who the developers are when you've got the chance, Clorith.

And the pics are so cute! :D

Clorith - January 2, 2005 07:27 PM (GMT)
Lol okay, okay. :P

Did a quick search and got this:

Yuji Horii (Ü¥¾®ÐÛ¶þ Horii Y¨±ji, born January 6, 1954) is a Japanese video game designer.

Yuji Horii graduated from Waseda University's Department of Literature. He also worked as a freelance writer for magazines, newspapers, and comics. He won the top prize at the Enix-sponsored "Game Programming Contest" that gave him the motivation to become a video game designer. His video game works include the Dragon Quest, Portpia Renzoku Satsujin Jiken, and Itadaki Street series.

Mr. Horii was also a supervisor of the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo game, Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger had multiple game endings and Yuji Horii appeared in one of the endings with the game development staff.

Yujii Horii is currently working on Dragon Quest VIII and heads his own production company, Armor Project.

Okay, so I guess Armor Project is an external company slightly affiliated to Enix and headed by the man behind Dragon Quest. Maybe it's their version of Sakaguchi's Mist Walker company??

Anyway, if he's behind Itadaki Street Special, it doesn't look like it has very much to do with FF. I guess the game will just be really cute and fun, with our favourite characters just for kicks. :)

What we need is the game's staff credits, which I can't read since it's in Japanese. It doesn't help that most of the pages returned in my searches were Japanese websites.

Besides, I don't think Itadaki is a big deal. It has both Aerith and Tifa, yes? And Aerith isn't being neglected, in fact she's shown parading around with Cloud for most of the commercial. So no need to panic. ^_^

Interesting, Clorith! Thank you very much! :D

Yes, we need the staff credits. Even though the game has both Aerith and Tifa, I've already heard claims such as the wallpaper designs with Cloud and Tifa show that they are the true couple of FFVII. Knowing that none of the FFVII team helped to develop the game will invalidate such claims. Nomura will most likely get credit as a character designer because his sprites are being used, but it would be good to be able to show that Nomura wasn't part of the actual development team. So let us know when you're able to get the staff credits, okay?

And thank you! :D
