Lutearina - March 15, 2006 05:13 AM (GMT)
Heeheehee. :D
For those of you who have the latest edition of EGM...
You might have noticed that they said this in the KHII preview:
"For starters, you'll run into several recognizable faces, including FFVII's famous lovebirds Cloud and Aerith"
:fangirl: :fangirl: :fangirl: :fangirl: :fangirl: :fangirl:
Yaaaay! The magazine doth have sense!
P.S. Sorry if this should be in the KH forum...I have absolutely nooo idea. So...Sorry if its in the wrong forum, but....I'm in supersquee mode right now. xD
yin-chan - March 15, 2006 06:18 AM (GMT)
Yes, that was what was written when KHII fever was starting to kick in. :D Lovely, isn't it? Most people had the impression that EGM was pretty Cloti, seeing that it used to call Tifa "Cloud's main squeeze." But then they reduced it to "lady friend", and now they're calling Cloud and Aerith "famous lovebirds"!!! :D
EGM, THOU HAST BEEN CONVERTED. :hide:
might - March 16, 2006 09:31 AM (GMT)
yay lovebirds! Hah in your faces everyone else of none believers...uh something like that. Heh yay EG for saying that lovely line.
Paladin's Heart - March 16, 2006 01:50 PM (GMT)
Ohhh yeah! Go EGM! I think the saw the magazine scan on someones siggy, but I forgot. Plus, KH Ultimania deleted them! I can scan it for you guys if you'd like, but it'll have to wait till next week cause it's my friends. ^-^'

cloud_n_aerith_strife - March 17, 2006 04:46 AM (GMT)
Are you serious did the mag really say that? I want to see it!
Cetra_Aerith - March 17, 2006 06:20 AM (GMT)

Lovebird Quote in Red
yin-chan - March 17, 2006 07:50 AM (GMT)
Thank you thank you thank you for the scan, Cetra Aerith! :fangirl:
What actually amuses me most is the very large picture of Sephy at the bottom quoting, "The light isn't suitable for you."
How very ironic.
cloud_n_aerith_strife - March 18, 2006 03:15 AM (GMT)
oh my gosh thank you for the scan, that is so funny. I bet the clotis that read that were like no way

ff7sam - March 23, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
I was so happy when I read that! :D I ran out and bought a copy the night I heard about it. Thank you 24 hour walmarts! It makes me so happy, I feel like I should just frame that page!
Imaginary__girl - March 26, 2006 01:29 PM (GMT)
I hope they're still selling it!! I have to go out and buy a copy!! My friend would love to see that! I hope Cloti fans read that...

Sadhana - March 28, 2006 07:10 PM (GMT)
:swoon: *falls over and dies in state of extreme exultation* So it's NOT just that us Clerises are delusional psychopaths who somehow can't see CloudxTifa as some of the rabid CloTis accuse. EGM agrees with us! They could've just as easily said "the three parties of the FFVII love triangle; Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa" or have just not included the phrase "famous lovebirds." But THAT'S WHAT THEY WROTE. CLOUD AND AERITH: THE FAMOUS LOVEBIRDS OF FFVII. The editor didn't take it out. No one took it out. Famous lovebirds. It's just that simple. Am I way too excited over this?
Lynx - March 28, 2006 07:21 PM (GMT)
Yay! When I first saw it (believe me, it was some weeks ago) I was not that happy I am now. ^_^ Weird...
I don't think such respected magazine can publish something without any grounds. Spreading groundless rumors is not very good for them, don't you think so? *waves Clerith flag*
Lucas_FFXI - April 2, 2006 01:17 AM (GMT)
Amazing! I didn't know they're famous lovebirds. I bet the clotis would be all "DERRRR!!!" in a angry way.
Sefie - April 4, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
Dun mean to pee on your party, but this is the same magazine that referred to Tifa as "Cloud's main squeeze", and we all went down on the CloTi's saying that it doesn't mean a thing.
While it is nice to see Cloud and Aerith gettin' a little love, let's keep that in mind ;)

Well, maybe they just got smarter since then. No, you're right. But we can have our fair moments of glory. We wouldn't use this as Cleris evidence. In the reality of the LTD, this really doesn't mean a thing just like the "Cloud's main squeeze" line didn't either. It's just nice to seem them recognizing the Cleris we all love so much! :cleris: But we must also keep in mind that while they described Tifa as a main squeeze, referring to Cloud and Aerith as famous lovebirds is much more romantically suggestive, no?
cloud_n_aerith_strife - April 5, 2006 01:27 AM (GMT)
when was this when they referred to Tifa as Cloud's main squeeze? It could just be that when the game first came out they could of thought that Tifa was Cloud's main squeeze, because when I first played the game I thought the same thing.
Lucas_FFXI - April 7, 2006 10:43 PM (GMT)
Hmmm...is "main squeeze" another word for "famous lovebirds"?

Maybe it's just me, but "main squeeze" doesn't sound as serious or as definite as "lovebirds". It makes the "Cloti" relationship sound rather flirty-like... o_O
Anyway, I think it's safe to assume now that EGM is, at least, neutral in the LT...

I don't remember precisely when they called Tifa Cloud's "main squeeze", but I'm pretty sure it was around AC's earlier days. So EGM definitely knew what they were saying, and it wasn't surprising since they've always exuded a pro-Cloti vibe.
Nevertheless, someone at SE must've given them quite a sounding, since they later downgraded Tifa to the less-romantic "Cloud's lady friend". ^^; I believe that occurred in the following issue.
Going back to that KH2 article, if you read the other parts of the coverage, you'll notice EGM also calls Kairi "Sora's lady friend". And we all know Sora/Kairi is practically canon.
I personally think EGM is still mainly pro-Cloti, but that SE kicked them into promoting Cloud and Aerith too. Whether it's because SE actually supports Cleris or whether they want to even the LT playing field is up to you to decide.
Whatever my doubts, though, "famous lovebirds" throttles "lady friend" by far. :yahoo:
LeaveOnYourBrightLights - April 16, 2006 06:40 PM (GMT)
Lady friend makes it sound like a whore. xD;;;
How innapropriate O:< Poor Kairi. x3
But, now...
SCORE. <3
Sefie - April 21, 2006 05:29 PM (GMT)
I agree that "Famous lovebirds" is far preferrable to "Main Squeeze" ^_^
Lutearina - April 28, 2006 11:16 PM (GMT)
Yep, main squeeze sounds...weeeellll.....O_o Yeaaah. :lmao:
"FAMOUS LOVEBIRDS" PWNS "Main squeeze" As said before. :P
Wheeheehee!

Er, sorry, but you can't ever really rely on magazines and what they say; they always have more bias opinions than the actual staff ever would. They're like fans: they put their two cents in there and if you go buy what they say, you aren't going to get the full info from the people who made the game.
All they ever get are usually release dates and the occassional interview; they write their own review on a game/movie and put their opinions in there and usually, slim to NONE, that of the creators. :/

I think most of us agree with you, KuroKuro. Mostly, I believe we're all squeeing here because it's nice to hear pro-Cleris lines in magazines. Not because it's a valued piece of evidence in the LTD but because it's just one more thing Cleris in the world. The only time we add quotes from living people into the LT is when it's from a valid interview with one of the creators or verified by S-E (I could be wrong here though; maybe I'm generalizing ;) ).
Hades' Daughter - May 1, 2006 05:11 AM (GMT)
Basically, I just think it's pretty cool that gaming magazines that seemed only pro-cloti at first are suddenly now sounding pro-Cleris as well :giggle:
Anyway, most of the people I know here at this forum don't use this kind of stuff as evidence in real debates.

As opposed to a certain opposing faction, not naming any names  who took ''main squeeze'' to mean ZOMG, cannon!
Cloud&Aerith - August 13, 2007 02:13 PM (GMT)
Yay!! Famous lovebirds! I love it! I wanna see that mag. Though they said Tifa is Cloud's main squeeze ( Am I right?) I think Famous lovebirds is sweeter than main squeeze.
