Title: The Shinra Building
Description: In the cells

Have you noticed that in the Shinra building in the cells, Cloud has more of a conversation with Aeris and he sleeps right near her cell. Tifa is in the same room, but when you talk to Aeris, Cloud goes next to the cell and talks to her, mentions how he's her bodyguard and generally feels a lot more comfortable talking to her. You think if he was into Tifa at that point, he would try to impress her by only talking to her. He viewed Tifa very platonically in that scene. Some may say that it's during the beginning of the game and he realized his feelings for her on disc two, but lookign through disc one, the one he talks to more is Aeris. The one he feels most comfortable with is Aeris. Even if he was into Tifa at one point, it is implied that he felt that he couldn't live up to her expectations and standards, while with Aeris he feels very comfortable with. The scene in the Shinra building is one example. Share your thoughts on this scene.

yeah that is true i said that to my sis b4 she just ingnores me since shes a cloti :envy:  well anyways back on topic i think the reason why ppl say that Cloud fell in love with Tifa on disc two was because they no that he loved Aeris on disc one thats why they never say that Cloud loved Tifa on disc one because he was more interested in Aeris :cleris: but i think the only reason why Cloud might of liked Tifa a little is because Aeris died obv  and he just wanted someone to talk to (Aeris) but since she wasint there to talk to there was only Tifa there sooo... he just wanted someone to relate to  poor Cloud

yeah I didn't notice it at first, but I noticed it later on that he does talk to her eventhough Tifa is right next to him.

That scene really struck me too! ^^ Especially at how relieved he was to hear Aerith was okay. How cute! Poor Tifa I dare say. She's so ignored. Well, I still love ya Tifa! :tifa:

Well, you can still talk to Tifa by moving Cloud to her and they have a very short converstion. ^^; But yeah, I agree that Cloud only actually spoke with Aerith-- as in they had a real conversation-- whereas his bit with Tifa was precisely focused on escaping from the cells and nothing more.

I really enjoyed that scene... but that's no surprise! I thought it was very cute and telling when Cloud and Aerith immediately started flirting a bit (even through a wall!), and anybody who doubts that they were exhibiting attracting for one another just has to look at Tifa's reaction.

Admittedly, part of me wanted to slap her when I first played the game for that obnoxious "EXCUSE me", since I thought that was very rude of her. And I wasn't even a fan of CxA at that point. :\ But Tifa was always a bit petulent when it came to Cloud and Aerith-- examples being this point, and when she turns around to stomp her foot in annoyance when Aerith asks her and Cloud's fortunes at the Temple of the Ancients. I think she only started growing up after the shock of Aerith's death (culminating in a beautiful scene between her and Aerith in AC).

Anyway.

I also liked the ending when Aerith is musing over hearing her dead mother's voice, and you can imagine her tone drifting off sadly. Then Cloud says "let's just get some sleep", and it almost sounds as if he's trying to help her feel a bit better.

And of course, the best part is Cloud sleeping against the wall next to Aerith's cell! I didn't notice it at first until someone pointed it out (I'd always thought he just slept there and, as a gentleman, allowed Tifa the only bunk in the room). But it's pretty cool that of all the walls in the room, he chose to sleep next to Aerith's. :fangirl:

*Imagines Cloud saying that in undertones like he did in KH2 while talking with Aerith and with his hand resting on the wall* I can't help but say that: it was so sweet... I like it because Cloud didn't ask any further questions to get more information. He was caring about her emotional state as if knowing some new facts about the Cetras wasn't impostant.

I. Didn't. Notice. That.
How could I?! *slaps her forehead* This game is almost ten years old and I was oblivious to this. Shame on me.
Anyway, it's like his living in Aerith's church before and during AC. The closer he is to her the better he feels. That's really amazing fact. And it also gives me the feeling that he wanted to be near her even in sleep to protect her... Aw, my head is spinning because of overwhelming Clerisness.
