Life can be wondrous, so many reasons why but in FFVII, we see why "Life" is the theme:

Cloud's sudden change of lifestyle

Aerith's death

Sephiroth's seek of Reunion

And guess what's the theme for AC? T'was "Rescue", because since Cloud failed to rescue the life of those precious to him, in AC, he rescues himself from his sins.
