Title: Horror Flicks
Description: The freaky movies!
BlackWind - February 13, 2006 04:10 AM (GMT)
I got this idea because some people at my house right now are watching Haunted Mansion On The Hill, and it started to really freak me out. As for other movies, like the more current Red Eye, Flight Plan, and When A Stranger Calls, they don't scare me.
Does anyone else think that the older horror films are scarier then the new ones? After all, old movies are all mental, the new ones are mainly blood and insanity.

I couldn't say really cause I haven't watched any old horror movies ;-; but I can tell you this...
Horror movies nowadays are NOT scary <_< they're just disgusting :P blood gore and bleh... all that stuff XD
lenne - February 13, 2006 08:03 AM (GMT)
nah horror movies now are just stupid they are not like they use to be huh?
The only ones that i thought were scary were
The SAW 1,2 :P
BlackWind - February 14, 2006 03:45 AM (GMT)
The only horror flick that scared me was The Ring, and The Ring 2 a little bit. Of course, that was only because they were the first horror movies I ever saw! *GASP* I started to watch Amityville Horror with a friend, but we stopped the tape after about 20 minutes because it was starting to scare us, and then...Oh, what was it called...Ah! House of Wax. That was a good one.

The Ring and The Ring 2 was good , but my favorite one was Saw and Saw 2. Man those were scary :scream: :fear:. I love horror movies. But its kinda hard to watch one without closing your eyes from all the bloody violence :worry:
i pRomiSe** - February 14, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
Saw I & II, Ring I & II scared me. Well, I never saw it. Just seeing the comemercials and stuff scared me. Especially the Saw II DVD commercial, with that scary clown thing... EEPP!!
Um, Freedomland seems scary. It has no violence (at least I think) but seems scary. Haunted stuff scares me (haunted child thing in the movie). Dx
Those are the only movies that scare me. You know The somethingsomething of Emily Rose? I heard it wasn't all that good, more less scary. And some other movie. But yeahh...

*wistful sigh* I've stopped watching horror movies for the most part. Might take a gander at it when I'm at a friend's house, but I never go to cinemas to watch them anymore.
Why bother, when I spend the whole movie cowering behind my fingers anyway? :P
Vanessa Strife-Gainsborough - February 15, 2006 02:48 AM (GMT)
:hugs: *hugs anyone scared* Dont worry, if you're watching a horror movie and your sitting next to me, dont be scared ..Just close your eyes and think happy thoughts :giggle:

Horror movies these days are pathetic. The Ring (the first one) was sort of gay. Seriously. I never bothered with the second one. XD
I liked Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Jeepers Creepers (both one and two).
The Exorcism of Emily Rose...I have one thing to say. All the scary parts you see are in the commercial! :P
lenne - February 15, 2006 07:59 AM (GMT)
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
sucked..seriously...almost every one in the movies were saying it sucked...then some guy screamed "I want my money back!"
Marionette - February 15, 2006 08:29 AM (GMT)
Well, I liked The Exorcism of Emily Rose, it made you think.
Anyway, I LOVE horror films especially psychological horror but I agree most the horror movies today are crap and, not even that scary. :Ring II (I liked the first one) White Noise and The Grudge come to mind. I recommend people to go see Jacob's Ladder, The Machinist, and The Mothman Prophecies to name a few.
Oh, I can't wait for the Silent Hill movie it's going to be so AWESOME! Check out the trailer.
http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/silenth...site/index.html It's going to be the best video game to movie adaptation ever! Well, I hope... :P

I sure do. The new ones are just about people getting massacred in various ways. They're like "1000 different ways to brutally torture and murder people". <_< The old ones were based more on scary ideas, and things that were mentally scary, so I agree. I think the old ones were better.

I think some demon/devil possession movies are a little scary. A truly scary movie is the kind that is scary even after the movie is over. Not the kind that makes you jump a little because of a sudden loud sound.
I don't really get scared with any movies. Getting scared with something on screen seems a littel silly to me. Grave hopping is scarier. If you don't know what that is, it's when you go to a graveyard at night(Usually with some friends) and just keep walking deeper into it. Freaky stuff. It almost always ends up with someone freaking someone else out and everyone running back to the entrance area.
o.O;

I forgot another movie. Resident Evil scared me like...when I was 10. When the movie came out I think. I got ao scared that I hid behind a pillow (we have the DVD).
But meh. Whatever. I can deal with Resident Evil now. It's like a classic horror thing video game. I love it.
Silent Hill.... Holy moo, that's scary. I was watching my brother play number 4 (The Room) and it was at night too. But the lights were on and stuff. My brother's 20, and he was with his friend. I was watching them play, and practically screamed at everythingg. It was so scary. Like those dreams and stuff, where there was like blood on the wall and a face imprinted in it. Oh moo, that's scarifying. DDDx But the thing I found funny was that one of my brother's friends made a joke about it.
There's a bathroom in his apartment (no duh lol), and he finds a huge whole in there. My brother's friend said 'It's like when you're taking a crap, you can make a conversation with it. It's like 'how was your day today?'. Then the noise would be like 'eee eee eeee'. 'That's cool. My day was ok.''
(Noises came from the hole, like someone was speaking)
Then I started laughing whenever my brother went into the bathroom (in the game).
Oh wait, that's a game.

The old movies are alot scaries! Like the movie The Village, pretty disappointed at the ending and how it turned out. :ermm:
I watched the old batman returns movie(man am i lame), and the penguin is scary! His nose and face, blehhhh! :puke:
I was like freaked out!
As for the silent hill movie, that looks really scary. My sister played all the silent hills, and god, do i hate the hospital! Silent hill 4, was scary too. The worst was the woods and the prison. When your in the prison, and if you stay in the cells, you can hear someone walking right above you.
And don't get me started on those stupid ghosts that make creepy noises when you pin them down with those swords.
Or when you come from your closet, and that little shadow of that kid makes noise.
I don't know how anyone can play those games where you walk into a room and some ugly deformed monster jumps out and tries to eat you. I jump when my sister plays them.
I'm even a coward to play tomb raider. I jumped like a foot off my seat when i was walking and a tiger jumped out.

I think the one my brother and me want to see is "The Hills have eyes"
I think thats how its called..im not sure...XD
BlackWind - February 16, 2006 03:16 AM (GMT)
Silent Hill looks so freaky! Oh, has anyone ehard of Slither? It looks soooo cool!
Real_Emotion - February 16, 2006 04:55 AM (GMT)
Definately the old ones are alot better. The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, and Poltergeist gave me nightmares as a child. :fear:
American Horror films have been kinda bland lately. We went from truely creepy scary stuff to teen slasher movies to 'let's rip off another horror movie from Asia' and now to the bloodier the better. <_< I like Asain horror films, but dislike them being integrated to a foreign audiences. The Ring, The Grudge, that movie with the water in the creepy apartment...??? I liked the original japenese versions better. The Ring was great, but Ring 2 disappointed me. And The Grudge? Bleh! >XI
One of my favorites was this Thai(?) horror film. I remember having to do with, 'Don't look up or you'll die'- something with a girl being murdered and stuffed in a vent and cursing it. Really cracked into the psyche! *chants*Don'tlookup!Don'tlookup!Don'tlookup!Don'tlookup!!!
It had the same effect as the Ring did. When you became freaked out then the TV gets staticy; you never wanted to look up into a vent again. *shivers*
Great... now I'm gonna end up getting nightmares.
FF_Goddess - February 16, 2006 06:34 PM (GMT)
The Grudge was definitely the scariest movie I have ever seen... :fear: *Shudders*
lenne - February 18, 2006 06:08 AM (GMT)
yeah it was scary...no.......it was creepy!!
