My friend told me I was insane for thinking that Tifa and Aeris should be friends, and she wouldn't talk to me anymore... :cry: :cry: :cry:

Many people like it better with Tifa and Aeris being rivals, because it makes the Love Triangle more amusing and dramatic.

I disagree. I mean I dont see nothing wrong with them being best friends. Even though nthey both like Cloud, they could just sit down and have a nice long talk together and get things straighten out, right :hmm:?

As far as I'm concerned, I don't think it was left up to us to decide whether or not Aerith and Tifa were good friends. They were shown to be friends in FFVII. They got along very well, and there was no rivalry between them. Aerith offered to help Tifa out when Tifa was at Don Corneo's, and both girls were seen going to the cafe in Cosmo Canyon together. Tifa was very sad about Aerith's death, and Tifa wore a pink ribbon in Aerith's memory in AC.

So I don't think it's up to question. No matter what your friend likes to think, Aerith and Tifa were indeed good friends. :wink:

I agree with Anastar. It's not a matter if IF Tifa and Aerith should be friends. They ARE friends, as proven by many small instances in the game and novels. My apologies to your friends, but this is one thing I doubt was left to interpretation by the Compilation. :P

Having Tifa and Aerith as bitter rivals may be more amusing in a parody, but making Cloud a complete oblivious idiot-doofus in parodies is amusing too. Doesn't mean that either characterisation accurately portrays their real personalities.

I personally think Tifa and Aerith being good friends makes the LT more interesting, as each girl has to consider following her heart and the feelings of their friend as well. It's a lot more complicated than an outright catfight.

When I play the game, I saw no mere hints of them being rivals, just bits of jealousy but nothing special. Like when the group left Cloud on his own in Junon, Aerith and Tifa was seen talking with each other.

Unless two girls with obvious interests in main guy became rivals by a friendly conversation. :lol:

They should be friends! Tifa should really appreciate Aeris! :D
Tifa cares for Cloud, and i know she wanted to help him in any ways possible.
Aeris was the only way for Cloud to be himself. :D
