I wanted to make sure that everyone knew about the report of the showing of Advent Children at the Montreal Film Festival. There are pictures as well as a written report. You can find it here:

The strong feelings that we had two years ago during the final battle, feels like they have dulled somewhat now, two years down to road.
But now, it seems as though they have been re-ignited within Cloud.

We've been confused about the "Let's go... Cloud..." part and where that fits in. This is how that same sequence was shown at the 25 minute TGS presentation of AC:

An echo of conversation with Tifa resounds inside his head.
Tifa: What we had 2 years ago may be lost to us now 2 years later but Cloud managed to regain his strength back.

Cloud’s expression turns fearless, and the strength to back that up can clearly be seen manifesting itself upon his face. And with all that change and all that strength within himself, more than anything, Cloud’s mind begins to tell its tale.

Tifa's line was portrayed at the TGS presentation as a memory of a conversation. It wasn't portrayed that way at Montreal, and it was reworded. Square's trying to confuse us. :rolleyes:

Shroudster, check out the review of the Montreal Film Festival at http://www.daeya.org/ff7ac_mtl/report_p1.php. They have a mess of pictures that they took at the Premier. What's interesting is that their pictures show the subtitles used in the Premier, and much of it is quite different from the translation of the sound recording. For example, the flower field scene is shown like this:

Aerith: "You came."
Aerith: "Even though you're about to break... That's a good sign."

Then she puts her hand on the exact spot where Cloud was holding his arm due to the pain of Geostigma earlier.

That is quite different from the translation of the sound recording, yet they have a number of screenshots to document what the subtitles were. The subtitles would indicate the official translation, wouldn't they? A number of the pictures there show the subtitles to be quite different from the translation of the sound recording. Although there's no screenshot of Tifa talking before she answers the phone, they have Tifa saying, "He's not here" instead of "He's not here anymore".

I'd noticed that too. It thought it rather strange how different the Montreal was from the Venice. Not huge, just lines changed that affected their whole meaning. What's going on???
I think that the difference between the subs and translations is that the subs were official, while the translations were not. Also, they could have been translated differently. This happens all the time in anime ;)

I found a screencap of Tifa saying, "Why do we have to lose out to a memory?" Any idea what she is talking about??? :blink:

Since Sephiroth says, "I won't become a memory" later on, I assume that she's talking about Sephiroth. Some people are saying that it has to do with Cloud and Tifa's supposed feelings for one another losing out to Cloud's feelings for Aerith, who is now just a memory, but I don't think the reference is to Aerith. I think Tifa's talking about the memory opposing them - Sephiroth.
