Shroudster, check out the review of the Montreal Film Festival at
http://www.daeya.org/ff7ac_mtl/report_p1.php. They have a mess of pictures that they took at the Premier. What's interesting is that their pictures show the subtitles used in the Premier, and much of it is quite different from the translation of the sound recording. For example, the flower field scene is shown like this:
Aerith: "You came."
Aerith: "Even though you're about to break... That's a good sign."
http://www.daeya.org/ff7ac_mtl/p2-02.phpThen she puts her hand on the exact spot where Cloud was holding his arm due to the pain of Geostigma earlier.
Aerith: "Question. Why did you come?"
Cloud: "Forgiveness... I think. Yeah. I want to be forgiven."
http://www.daeya.org/ff7ac_mtl/p2-04.phpAerith smiles and giggles.
Aerith: "By whom?"
That is quite different from the translation of the sound recording, yet they have a number of screenshots to document what the subtitles were. The subtitles would indicate the official translation, wouldn't they? A number of the pictures there show the subtitles to be quite different from the translation of the sound recording. Although there's no screenshot of Tifa talking before she answers the phone, they have Tifa saying,
"He's not here" instead of
"He's not here anymore".
