So I know a great deal of CloudxAerith supporters love both Cloud and Aerith, if we didn't love both characters then how could we appreciate the true beauty of the couple? :D But I've noticed that many CloudxTifa supporters usually like CloudxTifa couple simply because Tifa is one of their favorite characters (correct me if I'm wrong). Are us Cleris like that with Aerith? I love both characters, honestly, but Aeris is my number # 1. :fangirl:

And yeah, most clotis love the couple because they love Tifa. Many of them hate Cloud but they'll be happy as long as Tifa gets what she wants. Not all clotis are like that but the rabids are.

I started out a bigger Aerith fan when I first played. She's still my Number One Female, of course, but I just can't help loving Cloud more. He's so very awkward and so very fun to torture in RPs and fanfics. :lol: (And many times, I end up using Aerith to torture him.)

I like Aerith more. ^_^ Sure, Cloud is nice too, but I fancied Aerith since the beginning of my game, and I was really upset when she died. She sacrificed herself to protect the Planet, she made Cloud smile and laugh, and she was always there for him. She is a very good person, so I choose Aerith.

It's because they love Tifa, so they think Tifa should get whatever she wants. They also think it's impossible for a guy not to fall in love with Tifa.

Cloud's my favorite male character, and Aerith's my favorite female character. I love them both, but you can't decide that two characters belong together just because you like both of them. I believe in Cloud and Aerith's love for one another because of their interactions, and Cloud's grief at losing Aerith. I also don't see that Cloud has any romantic feelings for Tifa.

I'd have to say that I like Cloud more just because I'd fall for a guy like Cloud in a heartbeat! :lust:

I love both Cloud and Aerith to death but I'd have to pick Aerith. She's my favourite FF female character. I love her personality to bits and I always been fond of mage like characters. I adore pink! I love her outfit.

Cloud is probably my second favourite FF male character because Tidus holds the top spot.

Very true. I don't begrudge people liking two characters in a pairing just because they're their favourites, as I do that myself (mostly when it comes to yaoi, and mostly when they're both so good-looking it'd be a crime not to pair them up... but I digress :ninja: ).

But that's all fun and games. When I actually bother writing fanfics and discussing a pairing, however, I prefer to do that with pairings that have more going for them than just "they look good together".

I honestly think Cloti is the former, and not just a pairing based on looks. But it's a shame when some rabids just focus on Tifa's side of the pairing, and completely forget about Cloud's well-being.

Well, I'm an Aeris fan first and a Cleris second. My love for this couple grew out of my love for Aeris, that much I admit.
I guess part is, that I don't understand how Cloud possibly couldn't love her, when I love her so much and of course that Aeris loved him and I want her love to be returned - she deserves it. I saw this most clearly in my music video: I was picturing my interpretation of Aeris life as shown in FFVII and I threw some cleris in there because I see it as important part of her life. Still, its an Aeris video first...
I can't help it. My Cleris believe is strong however, I get really enraged and hurt by LTDs and sometimes threatened by "Cloti" scenes which is mostly due to the LTD - I've never had trouble with using Tifa before but I can't do so anymore.

The thought of Cloud forgetting about her and starting a life with tifa makes me so sad - because it would mean leaving her behind or because it would end my dream of Cloud and Aeris being a couple? Both?

I don't hate Cloud or just want them to be together because that's what Aeris wanted. I see substance for Cleris other than just "Aeris loves him and I want her to be happy" but she'll always come first.

I sat here for ten minutes debating who I loved more. I love Aeris' personality, how she sacrificed herself, and she's everything I wanted to be...

Aly's got a point. That idea, to me, shows the difference between who's a true Cleris fan, and and who's a supporter. (Even though they mean the same thing to everyone else.) Anyway, I favor Cloud more in the game because of who he is and especially his fighting abilities. I decide the favs from Limit Breaks mostly. i mean sure we have a few people in this world who would have Aeris' personality, and would sacrifice themselves for others. Her limit breaks are the best when you are going down on the health. She's great in personality, but when it comes to fighting skill, she can't out-beat Cloud, because she's a lover, not a fighter.

Cloud will always be my favorite Final Fantasy VII character, hands down. Blew my mind how Nomura managed to create a hero that pretty much everybody can relate to in some way, and still got away with giving him a paradoxical personality that is solidly awkward. And the fact that he inspired the WWIII that is the love triangle debate when he has the emotional capacity of a brick is pretty damn admirable. :lmao:

Aeris rawks, too. Probably because I just get her humor. She's my effing GOD for making Mr. Tough Guy Strife dress up like a woman, complete with lingerie. :D

I loved Aerith from the moment I saw her and Cloud was so amazing and human that I loved him too. I took one look at the game and from the start I knew Cloud and Aerith were going to fall in love, it was only a matter of time. XD

I'm a HUGE Aerith fan (I draw her picture EVERYWHERE) but I'm also a HUGE Cloud fan (I have a wallscroll of smexy!AC Cloud in my room). I can't choose, it's impossible! I'm just a devoted/obssessed Cloud, Aerith and Clerith fan! :cleris:

'Tis a tough choice, but I picked Aerith. She's such a beautifully unique character, she gave her life for the planet, her personality is complex, yet always giving and kind. She's a character I can really identify with, yet also look up to. The way she treated everyone was always wonderful, and the way she connected with Cloud so easily makes me love her.

As far as my liking her so much being my reason for perfering Cleris, that's not true, although it might have influenced it at first. However, it's the whole nature of their relationship that really makes it so beautiful to me. The idea of their love reaching beyond her death is such a romantic notion, the sort of thing makes a story more than a simple happy love. Without the tragedy, we couldn't see just how good it was, the contrast, and the pain Cloud felt made it all so much more intense.

So, I guess my reasons for loving Aerith have much to do with why I love their relationship, if she wasn't who she was, and Cloud wasn't himself, I wouldn't love Cleris so much. Cloud is an awesome character as well that I really appreciate. Attractive, complex, sexy..... *drools*

Unfortunately, IRL I'm an outer-Aerith, inner-Cloud...basically, I can relate to him more...so that's why I prefer him and like him more (though..I can be a flirt and I do wear lotsa pink..but I'm an inner...Cloud. XD))

Well it is really hard to choose. At first I started out as a big Aerith fan. I like Cloud and Aerith for so many different reasons. I thought Aerith was so thoughtful, loving, kind, she was so positive and she loved children, she had this sense of humor that would just make you laugh. I became interested in Cloud's character because of Aerith actually. Cloud is a very interesting character, although he seems cold he cares about his family and friends and he's a good person at heart. He's just an interesting character to watch. I agree that you can relate to Cloud in a lot of ways.

I like Aeris of course :aeris: :fangirl:! She a great person with a cute personality. And has a strong courage at heart. But with a bad boy like Cloud and his background, not to mention limit skill and attitude :yes:, Cloud's my vote!! He always turns me on!!!! :lmao: :cleris:
