Title: Guardian Angel
Description: Is it Aeris?
Aprillis - December 3, 2004 03:28 AM (GMT)
Remember the period of time when Cloud disappeared into the Lifestream and Tifa and gang had to search for him all over the world?
When we do find him, if you talked to one of the person there, they'll mention that "Cloud must have a guardian angel to have survived the lifestream."
Is it Aeris? It must be, since no one have ever survived the lifestream before.
I also hated the way Clotis claim that Tifa was the only one caring for Cloud, and Aeris didn't do a thing. Therefore, CloudxTifa must be the real couple (which is so not true).
In my opinion. both girls played a part in saving Cloud's life -- Aeris physically and Tifa mentally.

Aerith didn't just do her part in saving Cloud physically... but also spiritually and mentally too! ;) She did more things than Tifa could have done for Cloud because Aerith is more expressive, I guess... and she easily gets through him.
Aerith could be Cloud's Guardian Angel in the sense that she is still watching over him somewhere and making sure he is safe. She did her part in saving the world too with him. I think it's her fate to die so that she could become one with the Lifestream... so that she could "control" it (dunno how else I'm going to say it)... and stop meteor... after Cloud had stopped the culprit (Sephiroth).

Oh... that post-Lifestream event? Yeah... I think the quote was...
"That boy must have some powerful guardian angel watching over him..."
^_^ At least... that's what I think it is... Hmmm. I agree Tifa, that Aerith helped Cloud not only physically, but spiritually and mentally.
She helped him to become more confident about himself (even though
the life he was living was actually a lie
) and... hmm... well, overall she helped him become better. I mean, major transformation from a very mean, cold person to a not-so mean person. ^_^

Oh I remembered that! And Aerith popped into my mind instantly. It has to be her... I mean who else is there? Let's see...choice a: Aerith, b: mother (unlikely), c: zack (oh eww no)
thus guardian angel = aerith ^_^

It has to be Aerith. :D She's the closest thing to a Guardian Angel there is in the game--I mean, being associated with Churches and heavenly things... :D
THe only other angel in the game would be Sephiroth. And it would be scary if he were Cloud's "Guardian" Angel.

I really do not believe it's Aerith. To begin with it doesn't look like her, but that's not really my point. My point is that how much do you think the normal people of FFVII actually know about what happened? Most of the people do not propably even know who Aerith is, or Cloud for that matter. I'm sure there are those who know what they really did and how they wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for Cloud, Aerith and the rest. But in my view they are those silent heroes, heroes that do not brag about the things they did and in the end most will never know what happened and who they should thank for being alive.
So I believe that the citizens only built that statue to make them feel safe, bring hope and so on. We build religious symbols in our own world and I see no reason why they wouldn't do the same. So the angel statue doesn't represent anyone in particular, it's just a statue that is there to look pretty and bring hope.
Or at least that is what I hope, I do not want Aerith to be a celebrity. She was modest and humble in life and I wish they do not make it any different now that she is dead. :)

Your right that would be scary *shudders* Anyway I think it easily could have been Aeris. She was just that kind of person. ^_^

Not in the game, in one of those AC screenshots...when did I mention that there was a statue in the game? I'm talking about the movie here, sweetie. ^_^

Good call Aprillis and Hopeful. Like slower, Aeris immediately popped into my head when I saw that line. I think it is definitely another undercurrent of the storyline in FF7 that Aeris was Cloud's gaurdian angel.
1. Before she dies Aeris is a sort of "emotional crutch" and source of strength for Cloud emotionally.
2. The lifestream event, where we don't see Aeris at all but that Cloud "must've had some powerful gaurdian angel to survive being in the lifestream"
3. The end of the game, where Aeris reaches her hand out to Cloud, directing his hand up in the direction of Tifa, so that she can save him from falling into oblivion.
In both 2 and 3, although it is Tifa that sorta "rescues" Cloud out of the lifestream in the physical/mental sense, in both instances it seems as though she could not have been able to do so if Aeris' spirit wasn't there to protect Cloud and guide him to Tifa (more directly in the end scene, indirectly in the lifestream event).

Hmm.. true. I was also thinking in the lines of that. Aeris will always be the primary source of strength to Cloud, even in AC.
I think that is what SE were trying to convey to us in FFVII. Although the game had two heroines, they added hints as to tell us indirectly that Aeris is the main heroine of the game, and not Tifa.

lol *pats andina* you've mistaken. We were discussing bout the "guardian angel" mentioned in the game, after Cloud recovered from the lifestream explosion event...someone in the game mentioned that he mut have a guardian angel to survive that. ^_^

What? Blergh! That's what I get for reading only half of the posts. <_<
I was under the impression you're talking about that one AC picture where the angel statue is watching over the city.
Wee! I'll just...go now.
Aeris - December 5, 2004 08:48 PM (GMT)
Hahaha, been there before, andina!
I never thought of it that way, that Aeris was Cloud's gardian angel during that period. I think it's very possible. Im sure a lot of poeple though of Aeris when he said that statement, and I think square meant for that to happen. :)
