Do you remember when you first found out about Cloud and Aeris?
For me when i was about 11 years old, my sister started playing Final Fantasy. I grew an instant addiction when i watched her play it. I even leveled up her characters while she was at work. Final Fantasy 10 was first, then 10-2, 8 and then at the store, they were selling at their games half off, so my sister bought it. Final Fantasy 7. She said she wasn't gonna play for a while because she had just beaten final fantasy 8 . I was so bored one day, that i picked up Final Fantasy 7 and started playing. I passed the first mission and kept playing until i ran into Aeris. I simply loved Aeris to death. She was my first favorite Final Fantasy character out of ALL that i really really liked.

When i saw a small love blossom between Cloud and Aeris, i was hooked. The couple was so cute, yet brilliant in a way. Then, one day my sister said someone would die in the game. I was sure Aeris wouldn't, but sadly as i watched in horror, she was taken by the force of Sephiroth . I din't play for a whole week until i got the strength to keep playing. When i finally beat the game, i was sure Cloud and Tifa were gonna hook up, until i started searching on the internet. I found all kinds of hints, quotes, and aritcles about how they were the true intended Final Fantasy 7 couple. Until then, i haven't EVER doubted the Aeris and Cloud couple ever. :fangirl: :fangirl:

Whats your story?

My friend asked me to roleplay ff7 with her, and she wanted me to pick a character so she gave me a choice between Aeris and Tifa, and I knew Aeris better because of Kingdom Hearts, so I picked her, and when I got to play ff7 I liked both girls, but I liked Aeris with Cloud because I thought it was cute, and I guess being around my friend, shes a Cleris, so thats how I first heard of them, lame story, yeah..xD

The first time I saw them together was when watching my uncle play through the death scene. Specifically, the part where Sephiroth comes in a-stabbing. :lol: I watched everything open-mouthed, all the way through the battle with Jenova, until the part where Cloud buries her in the lake... then we had to go home. >_<

I didn't see anything FFVII-related months later, until I finally got a PS and the game in m'hand. When I recognised Aerith in the opening sequence, I squeed, and because I can have the memory of a fish's at times, I'd completely forgotten about that spoiler scene until second into Sephiroth diving down in my own playthrough.

Ah...I remember seeing a picture of Cloud and Aerith on the internet a loooooong time ago....I think it was a pic of Cloud releasing Aerith into the water....I thought it was so pretty and sad...

Then I played KH and saw the ending I was like 'YAY! They found a way back to each other!'

Then I bought FFVII and....then thats about it! ^__^ :cleris:

First heard about Could and Aeris while playing Kingdom Hearts. Of course, I had no idea who they were at the time until my brother pointed out that they were from FFVII. At that time, I didn't play a lot of games, and have only heard a few things about the Final Fantasy series. Well, my brother beat KH and I witnessed my very first cleris moment and fell instantly in love with the pairing. I researched around the internet about this couple and finally decided to get FFVII(best $14.99 I ever spent! :lol: ). I got it and fell even more in love with the pairing. :wub:

I wasn't a huge fan of Final Fantasy when I was younger. I first played Final Fantasy VIII and I fell in love with Squall and Rinoa. When one of my cousins was over, he brought over Final Fantasy VII and I watched him play. I thought it was a good game so I looked for it myself. When I found it, I was happy (duh!). When I first played it, I thought Tifa and Cloud were the main couple, but I had suspisions when I saw Cloud and Aerith. When she died :sad: I knew that Cloud really cared for Aerith and that's when it clicked. He would always love her through life and death.

I first saw them in Kingdom Hearts, I over looked Aerith at first been when I found out that Cloud was looking for her, I was like awwww, and then at the credits they were reunited and after that I had to go buy FFVII :cleris:

Tifa seemed like a..slut, no offense to those tifa lovers but first impressions does count! Taht's when i started kinda..."hating" or "disliking" her. Aeris was so..different. Like there were no words to discribe it but she seemed so pure for some strange reason (maybe it's just the crazy me). And when you see Cloud&Aeris together, they just look SOOO CUTE!!

I never knew about Cloud and Aeris until I played the game, everything was completly unspoiled for me considering I didn't have the internet in '97-'98 and I didn't dare touch a walkthrough in a gaming magazine until I got to disc two. So yes, the joys of being a veteran.

well....I wondered if they new each other...and went to see the little profiles and saw that they came from the same game

so after that me bought FF7 played it and here I am...I still cry when she gets killed :cry:

I too first heard about the Aerith Cloud pairing from Kingdom Hearts, lol, and I knew that they were meant to be. So naturally I had to get FFVII :) But before that, I had sworn to myself never to become a FF addict, silly me ^_^; I kept telling myself "I am not going to get sucked in," But low and behold, I did anyway, lol. Then my friend started sending me all these pictures of Cloud and Aerith, and, well, my curiosity got the better of me. Once I started reading up, I knew it that :cleris: was the way to go.

Oh my! I can't believe so many people heard it from the internet or Kingdom Hearts!

Like few people, I got the game for my birthday in 98 and I got hooked on it. Aerith was my favourite character and I am also a huge Tifa fan so Aerith and Tifa were in the party with Cloud.

And the death wasn't spoiled for me, I had a HATE for FFVII and didn't play it for like a month after she died :lol: Yes its stupid but that's how much I loved Aerith, she was my fave character.

Hum, must have been way back in '97, when the original advert for it was on. What did it say... ? "... and a love that could never be?" while Cloud lowered Aerith into the water, or something close to that. When I got the game a few weeks later I completely forgot about that advert (musta missed the mention of FFVII on it) and spent most of the game racking my brain to work out when/how she'd die, as I'd heard about it else where.

Also, the opening FMV. Aerth being the only character in it? Must be important to the main character then!

Umm... Let me think... I first remember seeing Aerith and Cloud in Kingdom Hearts, and then I heard more about them on the internet, and got addicted to that coupling (is that a word?) after reading the FF7 script on gamefaqs.com. I'm hoping I can buy FF7 soon.

Oh man..I was what, around 7-8 years old? My dad was playing Final Fantasy VII and I was like "ooo she's older than Cloud, isn't the girl supposed to be younger to be with the boy?" I was still young, mind you, lol. :P At the same time, I thought Tifa was gonna be with Cloud (I don't remember why o_o), but when Aerith died..I was like "I want her with Cloud, Cloud is gonna be sad without Aerith. See? He's sad." I was young..and confused. I wasn't much of one to decide, but time went by..and I stuck by Cloud and Aerith.

Wow! :D Got a lot of youngins here, eh? Well, I got it when I was 14 after seeing the main character Cloud in a magazine because I thought he looked so cool. :fangirl: (I just had to have it!) Thus began my little journal throughout FF7. For a few month, I was hooked. The tragedy of losing Aeris, their love story...it really struck a cord through me at such a young age, and now look at me, I'm 22 and still a loyal Cleris fan. :huggle: I don't want to let go...

I'm not THAT young anymore, lol...but there are lots of "youngins" indeed. I'm what..turning 17 this year? XD Wah! It makes me think: next year is the FF7 10th anniversary. Time goes by, and thus we reminisce.

First time was the FFVII commercial that showed Aerith's funeral scene with Cloud and showed the words, "A love that could never be"...

I first heard about Cleris from my best friend Vanessa :huggle:. After she told me about them I started playing the game and really got into Cloud and Aeris :cleris: :yahoo:

Not you, just the younger members who have heard about Cloud and Aeris from Kingdom Hearts, lol. Ah, so it's already been 9 years/? Time goes by...

I'm one of the younger fans, so I know Cloud and Aerith from Kingdom Hearts since the game's so freakin' popular on the 'net.

When I get it, I though Aerith looks interesting due to her hair and Cloud's appearance in Colliseum made me feel in luuuurrrrvvvve~! :fangirl:

I was like 7-8, I think. My cousin and my brother kept on talking about FF7, and at that time I was hooked on Legend of Mana. So then I kept on hearing "Omnislash" or "Emerald Weapon" so I instantly took the FF7 CD and popped it into computer. (Yeah, I beat FF7 on the PC). So, there I was playing FF7 and I arrived at Aerith's church. And I was all like "HEY! I KNOW YOU!" and I instantly fell in love with the couple XD.

Hee, I got to know about Aerith and Cloud only after i started picking up drawing as a hobby about a year ago~ I first saw a fanart of Aerith's dying scene with Cloud lowering her into the water by nanami-yuki and thought it's a really pretty drawing! Then her entry got me interested in FFVII: AC and subsequently started playing the game~ :D

But even though I knew Aerith would be dying in the game, i didn't know how and when she'd die and it was still pretty shocking to see her death scene in the first disc :(

I played FFVII for the first time back in 1999-2000. The couple thing threw me around a bit, first I thought it was BarretxTifa, then CloudxTifa, but once Aerith came in, instinct from my experiences with other rpgs kicked in and I almost didn't look back once on CloudxAerith. I did falter a bit at the under the highwind scene, I jumped from end of disc 1 to 3 in a day so my mind was not really there while I was playing and I was mostly scolding Cloud for "going" with Tifa instead of sticking with Aerith whom I thought would eventually return. I had always been a bit neutral with the whole cloti/cleris debate. I'd always lean towards Cleris of course but I was also never strongly against Cloti until I read some LTD debates and Cleris just won me over.

I think my reason for supporting Cleris so much is, not only does it make more sense the relationship between Cloud and Aerith is very typical, but by no means boring, of other RPGs hero/heroine deal and I was very attracted to that at the time I played FFVII. After playing excellent games like Lunar The Silver Star Story, Lunar 2 Eternal Blue and Final Fantasy IX, Cleris just seems very natural. Even if I did support another couple in FFVII, I wouldn't deny that Cleris is canon.

It's pretty simple really how I came across them. My family had just bought our first PS1 and some games with it. The games included Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy VII, Spyro, etc. I watched my elder brother play Final Fantasy VII and soon became hooked to watching him. (I still love to watch my brother play video games! ) From there, my love of that pairing grew. Only last year did I finally come around to beating Sephiroth. (I had been procrastinating for 2 years!) ^_^ I'm so lazy. Well that's my intro to Cloud and Aerith. :cleris:

My older brothers had reserved a copy of Final Fantasy VII back in '97 and we went to go pick it up the day it came out. I was 7 years old at the time. I watched them play the game and the moment I saw Aerith, I knew she was the main heroine; when I saw that Cloud was the main character, I knew they were going to fall in love. Final Fantasy VII was my first RPG but somehow I knew these two were going to fall in love. :cleris:

well I had to be about 19 years old (I'm 25 now) my husband is a big ff VII fan but I never really played it. I played VIII first so when I watched my hubby play VII it didn't impress me much, but I got it anyway. When I first saw aerith and cloud together in the church (when cloud crashed into her church) I thought she was so cute, and as the game went on I started to really love the pairing and that's my aerith and cloud story.

:D Well I started playing the game after some time watching my bro play it! The first Final Fantasy game I ever played was Final Fantasy 8, so I thought oh what the hell I'll give it a go. :P

So I played it and straight away I was hooked ^_^ Especially on Cloud and Aeris! They looked so cuddly together. Some of the things Cloud said to her were so CUTE! Like when they were at Cosmo Canyon sitting around the fire, he says "I'm here...I mean we're here for you.." Or something like that anyway. :P

Actually, 2006 will be the 10th anniversary ^_^ FFVII was released around christmas of 1996 in Japan.

Being the big RPG geek I am, I asked a friend of mine if I could borrow it because he just kept going on about it. He said the love story was pretty unique and the girl dies (Ah! I was spoiled!) I loved it so much that I later decided to buy the game. Still loved Cloud and Aeris of course. <3

but i already knew who were those persons(some ff7 characters)..and i knew that cloud was with in aerith in ff7(but i didn't know nothing about any ff)
at first i hated aerith..in kh..for hes personality...(stupid me) then i found cloud(i also hated him in the colisseum xD)..
then as the long as the game was runnign.. i STARTING TO LIKE AERITH ..then i saw the fianl credits..and:fangirl: (i'm a romantic girl..and this scene..with this music was wooow *-*)
and i did my fisrt pic about them aerith's death second time(i also knew that she died in ff7)xD
i also started to play ffx..cause i knew who were tidus and wakka..(for fanarts and things like that)but only after playing kh..

After that, I got into the game and started to like the couple. What really caught my eye with these two was the war between Cloti's and Cleris'. I didn't know what was going on, but after playing the game, I decided to jump in and side with the Cleris fans! :battlecry:

About three days ago when I saw Advent Children. Playing the game, it seems like I remember my brother playing this, but I never paid much attention before.

I'm actually old enough to have played FF7 when it came out. Indeed, I'm old enough to have played FF1 when IT first came out.

As for me...well, my own logical deduction concluded in favor of the flowergirl over the barmaid.
