After going through topics, I seen and met some Digimon fans. So, I decide to make a thread for us to talk about Digimon!!

Anyone else watched Digimon and love it since Season 1 (where Tai and co first come to the Digital World)? Who is your favourite character? Favourite season? Digimon?

I'll explain mine (one which is dead obvious by now) after I hear yours!

Oh yeah, I don't mind if you don't like a character, but try not to bash him/her TOO extremely bad. Just explain why you don't like that character with reasons.

I used to watch digimon alot but then after the first season ended i didn't watch it that much.

My fav character was ummm can't remember her name and i don't know why i liked her but she was the one that had the plant like digimon? :unsure:

I used to love watching digimon! My brothers and sisters used to watch it, so i grew up with it! :D
The first season was great, second season was good, but when they kept making new characters, it just seemed to lose its luster. :cry:

My favourite character is Takuya-kun (DUH) and Takato (Digimon Tamer)!! Actually, I love all Goggle-Boys but they're my personal fav!

Takuya's attitude is what attract me to him, as well as watching him Spirit Evolving into Agnimon. :blush: :lust: :swoon: :fangirl:

I like Takato because he's unique and very different from other Goggle-Boys. For one thing, he didn't play soccer and like to draw. And he's just cuuuutttteeee in his own way!

My favourite Digimon...hm...well, I like all Warriors of Flame from Frontier, Guilmon (he's cute and adorable, admit it!) and BlackWarGreymon (Season 2).

I absolutely LOVED Tai's sister (:sad: I forgot her name noooo!!! *jumps off cliff*) I think it was Kari or something (oh and by the way I watched the show in spanish so character names MAY vary XD)

Sora was awesome too, I was a HUGE TaixSora fan... but in the second season she ended up with Matt :sad:

I was a TaixSora supporter, too! :o I was so shocked when I saw her giving her present to Matt... I was like, 'Wt...? That's not Tai, honey...'

My fav was Sora and Kari! xD I couldn't like Mimi cause her voice sucked in the portuguese first version, Then they changed her voice but... too late :sad:

Second season my fav was still Kari xD She reminded me of Kairi, and I liked so much to see her and TK... <3

Favourite Digimon: GATOMON!! xD That cat is the cutest thing, with those big eyes!! T^T And, zomg, dark past?! D:

I didn't like Tai's sucessor that much... I liked Ken, though! I love quiet guys xD

Me too! I support Taiora (Tai/Sora) too! I remember the reaction on how Sorato (Matt and Sora) was canonise. Heck, a lotta people don't like it when they're married.


I like Davis, Tai's successor, for humor and just being...Davis. I would like to see other Digidestined try to get Ken on the team like Davis. That and I don't like people bashing him for stupid reasons. It's surprising how much people didn't like him years ago.

Oh and I like Patamon! Before I learn he's a hamster, I thought he proves pigs CAN fly! :lol:

Wow, we have a lot of Tai x Sora fans here. I feel a little out of place seeing that I'm a big Sora x Matt supporter. I for one was pleasantly surprised when I watched the second season and found that Sora liked Matt (before then, I thought that I was just crazy for putting the two together). I was practically squealing when I saw that they got married. I thought that Sora would end up with Tai too, especially after watching the first Digimon movie (come to think about it, what was up with all those Sora x Tai hints? :ermm: And why would they pair Sora and Matt in the first place?)

Through the entire time when they were kids till they were in high school, I thought Sora and Tai had something going on. Truthfully, I think Tai really loved Sora, but he wanted her to be happy so he let her go to Matt.
Argh! Matt never showed any feelings for Sora when they were kids!

Sad for me, Sora's more like Tifa than Aerith :sad:

It was surprising when they didn't get married at the end, wasn't it? ;) I didn't like the KenxHikari pairing, though.

My favorite character was Mimi from the 1st season. Yeah, she was ditzy and stuff, but I absolutely LOVED her and I always loved pairing her up with Matt! (Mainly because they looked like Cloud and Aerith!! :cleris: ) She was adorable and Matt was so cool...so yeah! :lol:

After season 1 things weren't as great, so season 1 was my definate favorite. Oh yeah, and I loved TK and Kari...they were so sweet together. But they never did end up with one another, did they? That's sad. ;_;

I used to watch Digimon too. Goodness, I used to be obsessed! Making my own Digimon characters and monsters. Hell, I used to RP in a Digimon RP Forum. :sweat:

My favorite season was season 1. I also liked season 3 and 4. The only thing that disappointed me about season 1 is that they never showed the 'Mega' forms of the other digimon. I wanted to see Rosemon in action!
Favorite characters were Tai, Yamato, Mimi, Hikari, Takeru, Kouji, Kou-ichi(?), Takuya, Ruki, Lee, and Izumi. :3 Favorite digimon were Palmon, Gatomon, Patomon, and a few others that I sadly forgot the name of... >.>;;
Wow... I see I'm not the only one dissappointed with the ending of season 2! Feh, I threw a fit when Sora and Tai didn't end up together. :sad: And they(Taiora and Hikeru) were sooooo very obvious!! Anyone remember that Digimon movie where Tai gave Sora a hair clip???! :fist: She was all mad at first, but she liked it in the end and was all, 'Aww... Tai....'

Nah, I think Tai always saw Sora as 'one of the guys', especially when she was all tomboyish. The only Matt x Sora hint pre-season 2 that I can see is when he helped her out of that cave created by her depression (a hand reach scene!). Wow, I still can't believe that this couple actually became canon! :fangirl:

But I wonder if the movie was fanservice, because Tai x Sora seems very popular. :unsure:

Thinking about it now, it seem so. Then again, I haven't seen the movie where Diabloromon (sp?) comes back. (Darnit, come out already!!)

Now that the fact Sora's married to Matt after few years, some fans have chilled down, though many still want Taiora (which explain all those fics, if you ignore the shounen ai ones).

Well, at least I didn't see quite as much people bashing Sora nowadays. :ermm: Things crazy people thinks...well, either they forget it or focused on other seasons.

By the way, I heard there's Season 5 in production. :woot:

Sora bashing? :unsure: That's terrible, considering I always liked Sora before I even liked Matt. Hmm, I wonder what season 5 will be like... Season 4 was pretty good, though I disliked season 3! I didn't like the whole card thing.

I don't mind Digimon Tamers, just like the characters but I don't understand the card game. Last time I play...I suck. Digimon Frontier for obvious reasons. :fangirl:

As for Season 5, for all we know, we might get a Goggle-Girl this time!! :woot:

meh :P I stopped watching at the second season mainly cause IMO nothing can beat the OG first season :lust: :P and teh crappy "canon" pairings ;-; lol but hey why not... XD

The three main characters seems cool enough, Masaru looks kinda hot, but I have one complaint...

I found some old VHS tapes of Digimon a couple of weeks ago, I watched them and throughly enjoyed them again. They were of season 2 when they had to travel round the world, which meant lots of humours moments were to come ^_^

I saw all of seasons 1 and 2 and loved them. Izzy was my favourite from both season, I just think he has a cool sense of humour and is just a good character. I liked TK and Kari from season 2, Davis annoyed me too much by being too desperate for Kari.

Season 3 was a let down (The card game one, don't know the real name). I didn't like the characters (except Rika, she was hardcore!) and the storyline didn't pick up until near the end which was pretty good once it got there. But there was too much time spent doing...well, nothing.

And they stopped airing seasons after that I think >_<.

My favourite digimon was Diaboromon from the film, he was so deliciously evil :devil: And I like Renamon and Wargreymon too ^_^

Sigh... alot of people seem to be disappointed Tai and Sora didn't hook up.... when i was little, i LOVED Tai and Mimi. I thought they looked so cute together! :lust: But, she got with Joe..... bleh.... he was my last choice.... <_<

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the series. Why did they stop making more shows? My favorite is Henry who had Terriermon. I loved Terriermon big long ears and his evolutions. I loved all season but I disliked season 4 because I didn't like how they could fuse with their digimon ya know.

Umm... when will there be a next season?

In answer to your question, Season 5 is already in production and the first several episodes are already aired in Japan. It went back to the ol' 'human with Digimon partners' sequence, if you're worried.

Though I would like to add that I like Digimon Frontier, as not only Takuya is the reason ( :P ) but how INVOLVE they are with the fights against Cherubimon/Kerpymon and later on, the last villain. But that's just me, since I also like the bond between human and Digimon in the other Seasons, Takato and Guilmon for example.

Back when I was younger, from season 1 & 2 Mimi was my favorite even though she was spoiled and whiny. I think I liked her for her flower type digimon and her crest of Purity. I always used to pair her up with Tai or Matt, esp. Matt (mimato). I love the whole opposites attract thing. I was shocked when they paired him up with Sora, what an upset. Tai and Sora clicked from the beginning. I thought Rika, from season 3, was such an awesome character. She didn't take any bull from anyone. I didn't really watch season 4 but I still liked Kouji and Kouichi.

Sora and Yamato was hella left feild, and I was almost as disappointed as Taichi! Sora and Taichi should have been together, seriously. But since I hate Sora, I can't understand why either guy would want to bust their asses over her. She was just so lifeless and boring.

My favourite characters were Yamato and Taichi, of course. I thought they had this awesome rival relationship, the kind I always love in anime (the genki rash hero and the silent cool best friend/rival). I mean it's totally cliche and you can find it anywhere (KH, Naruto, DBZ etc) but I can never get enough of it.

I'd say after them, my favourite characters would be Ken, Takeru and Daisuke. Not only cause I was totally in love with Ken and Takeru in 02, but also cuz I don't think Daisuke got enough love in the English version. He was kind of an idiot in the Japanese version but in the English version they made him even dumber. I even heard an interview where the writer confessed to hating Daisuke and so set out to make him stupider in the English version. How unfair!

Mimi was a cute character, but I never really liked her. She was just a bit too annoying for my tastes. Hikari was too... perfect and innocent. I would have liked for her to show a bit more back bone. Miyako really pissed me off sometimes, but I definitely respected her a lot more than the others. She had that back bone, and she was strong enough to slap Ken in the face!

Actually, I think Miyako and Ken make an awesome couple! Miyako totally wears the pants in that relationship :D

I tried to watch Digimon 03, and 04 but I couldn't really go too far. I just missed my fav characters too much. I heard they've got a new one out. Maybe I should take a look at it.

I already know about Season 5, Digimon Savers, nyrin. You can find some episodes on YouTube in parts to watch them if you're not patient enough to use bittorent.

I have to say Masaru is definitely awesome! Your typical gangster, street-fightin' guy but will acknowledge when he have a weakness when not around Touma and thinking through.

Touma seem to be the normal, young smart genius with the good looks, great lineage (his dad is from the Austrian top aristocratic family, darnit!) and popular guy of the characters. Too tactical for my taste.

Yoshino...no solid opinion, seem to be the older-sister-who-breaks-up-fight kinda girl. Plus look at her Digimon, Raramon! :fangirl:

I agree! Years ago, Davis didn't get enough love among the people who watch the dub! I used to seeing plenty of bashing fics around! He maybe an idiot at times, but he's a LOVABLE idiot!

Despite all his faults, we mustn't forget all the things Davis did to the team. Like, oh I don't know, use the DigiEgg of Miracle to beat Kimeramon?

After whining for ages because Kari left him behind :P

I really like Season One over all, why? because Yamato and Mimi are so like Cloud and Aerith!!!! :cleris: Reibenichou mistakenly thought my sig is made up of the fanarts of Cloud and Aerith!!! I felt so sorry for Taichi, he was so depressed...at least they should've got him hooked up with Mimi! :mad: And Takeru and Hikari...match in heaven...they also look like Cloud n Aerith in different ways, but they haven't even got together!!! I hate season 2, the ending was not a happy one... Yama and Mimi didn't get together, so as Tai and Sora, Hikari and TK! Sora's not really interesting IMO...she's...like any other girl. XD i'm sorry.

Season 04- I love Takuya!!! :wub: but he's for PKA! XD I like Kouji and Izumi, they're so sweet and they also have the Clerisy thing here...

The only part I don't like about Season 2, beside how Davis was characterise, was the ending! I swear, doing that is gonna get raving, angry fans. At least give us an open-ended ending so fans can be happy with their own interpretion. :no:

I never really notice the Clerisy bit between Kouzumi. Mainly because I'm such a Takouji fangirl while Digimon Frontier was aired in Japan...But I admit, they're definitely opposite, unlike Takumi. :puke: Takuya and Izumi's personality clash too much and I don't like his Takumi dream in the middle of battling Cherubimon! :cry: Mainly because I want his head on MY lap...

I used to like to watch Digimon. But then...I don't know...I lost intrest in it. My favorite seasons are season 1 and 3. Most people don't like season 3, but I do. I don't understand why though.

Does anyone know where I can find digimon 01 in the original japanese version (preferably subbed but I'm okay with raw as well). PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEBODY TELL ME! :cry: I've been searching for so long!!!

There should be some Bittorent sites that have them up for download, subbed or not.

Plus, I would like to add that the Dubs censored out the scene where we can see Taichi and Yamato's rear when they're staying at that mansion in Season 01. You know, the part where the boys are all in baths... :plot:

Either season 1 or 2 was my fav, they both have their perks. Digimon Emperor was a badass. I hate 3 and 4, although if I had to choose, 3 was better. Once they got rid of the original characters, I lost interest. And season 4? Spirit Digivolution = Gay Fuel. No offense to your avatar. :angel:

Yeah I've been a fan ever since season 1's debut here in the U.S., on Fox Kids. I remember seeing the first commercial for it and going, "Wow thats some gay lookin' show." But then I started watching, and I loved it.

Heh, even though Im over this now, its still embarassing to admit. When I first started watching, I had a huge crush on Mimi. She was just so damned cute.

I remember seeing that part too! :lol: My brother and I were staring at it before laughing (we were young then). It's just America that censors the "bad" stuff, isn't it?
