Description: Plot, Gameplay, and Characters
Anastar - January 27, 2006 03:20 PM (GMT)
Two people at
AdventChildren.net have already finished the Japanese version of DoC. They've written a full review of the game with details on the plot, characters, gameplay, etc. They've answered the questions of many people about what happens, and they've written a detailed summary of the ending. You can find all of this information by going here:

I dont know where to put this, but.....
I found a new ca. 9 minuts video on YOUTUBE, it's the opening of DOC
http://www.youtube.com/w/Dirge-of-Cerberus...20of%20Cerberussorry, if I put in the wrong section...
Lucetia looks really beautiful.....
Anastar - January 27, 2006 07:05 PM (GMT)
That's fine, Lady LeBlanc. Thank you! :huggle:
There's another article that's mostly about gameplay here:
IGN's Dirge of Cerberus: Import Playtest. There's no spoilers in that article because very little is said about the plot. A few video sequences are offered for viewing, too.
Meggie - January 27, 2006 09:47 PM (GMT)
  Thanks for the links sis!!!

C-strife - January 28, 2006 12:14 AM (GMT)
Ally, can you answer some questions? Like does the plot sound really good?
Clerith-son - January 28, 2006 02:43 AM (GMT)
Can anyone post those spoilers in here? For some reason I can not enter in the ACF. Thanks in anticipation.
Kaldea - January 28, 2006 07:22 AM (GMT)
CG is happy. That is all she shall say.
C-strife - January 28, 2006 08:17 AM (GMT)
^ Herbal Crack Whore? :lmao: x100000 Oh, CG. :huggle: Btw, again gorgeous sig. :D
Clerith-son - January 28, 2006 09:53 AM (GMT)
I've managed to spoil myself. Well, the game's nothing outta this world, for what I've heard the gameplay is somewhat lame, and more than a sequel (wich DoC is not) is a side story, but also, for what I've heard it's a kickass game, its story way better than AC's, and has some FMVs to take you out of your seats, all of that summed to a real good ending.
I still have no great spectations about it, bu I'll be glad to buy it, as soon as it apears in stores. I really hope it raises my opinion on SE and Nomura, that has recently been downgraded due to their recent lack of professional skill.
Onigiri - January 28, 2006 02:22 PM (GMT)
Yes people say the ending is really good/shocking, but I find it nothing special.
Kaldea - January 28, 2006 05:27 PM (GMT)
Honestly, it's best not to form a judgement on the game until you've played it. People who are bashing Square Enix and haven't even played the game yet I find are really being unfair. The people who have played it, loved it so I see no problem there.
And thanks, C-strife!
Lynn - January 29, 2006 07:25 PM (GMT)
Remy certainly wasted no time sigging the beautiful Lucrecia.
I'll not form a judgement on the game or its plot until I've actually played the game. Many things that sound utterly subpar in words can look wondrous with the right atmosphere and graphics. ;)
[EDIT] OMG. I've never loved GameFAQs more than this. Two members have been
ripping and uploading the FMVs to Filefront. I'm downloading the DC Intro now, but reactions are pointing to the videos being deliciously high-quality.
The links were scattered across the thread, so I decided to compile them here for easy access. They are
AVI files (if anybody wants the PSS files, i.e. files direct from the game's DVD, you'll find the links to them on IdoAlphaOmega's website), so they should be playable on most common video players, provided you have the
XviD codec installed.
FINALLY. I suppose it goes without saying:
MAJOR DC SPOILERS PLZKTHX!Many, many, MANY thanks go out to
IdoAlphaOmega for ripping the videos, and
SaydeWindsaur for compressing them into such high-quality format!!! :huggle:
For the curious who want to watch the FMVs in chronological order, IdoAlphaOmega has posted the list:
00 - Title Vid08 - Opening Movie10 - Lucrecia's Collapse03 - Highwind 2 "The Sierra" Appears02 - Omega Phenomenon04 - Prelude to War06 - Death from above! And below! And all sides!07 - Omega Cloudburst01 - Shelke Finds the Materia05 - Injection V09 - Ending Movie/Credits11 - Super Secret Ending
LeaveOnYourBrightLights - January 30, 2006 03:31 AM (GMT)
Can anyone tell me how to use filefront, please? T__T I want to see some of the videos, but I don't understand it too well xD;;
Kaldea - January 30, 2006 03:34 AM (GMT)
I'll post some screens for those who have slow connections once I get some downloads done.
And you just select which server you download from. It's pretty straightforward.
Edit: I have screens now, so everyone who wants them should check out the DoC Screens thread. ^_^
-Testament- - January 30, 2006 08:53 AM (GMT)
Videos and gameplay look so great, I can't wait to play it, hurry up and come to Canada, KH II can wait
Most people who are judging the game are those or are sick and tired of the spin offs. :D if they keep dishing them out I'll never get bored or sick of them.
SE, GIVE ME ALL THE NEW EDITIONS YOU CAN POSSIBLY MAKE.

Click on the link in the post, then click on the "Download Now!" link on the new page. Then, you'll be given a list of servers to download the file from. Choose any one, but of course, it's best to choose those who show no waiting time. After that, a new page will load. Wait for the piano music to come on, and the file's link will appear.
As for the gameplay, I've heard it's quite problematic. Unsurprisingly, though, since I think this is one of SE's first-- if not the first-- foray into FPS. The Bouncer's controls were quite sluggish too, IIRC.
Amathala - January 30, 2006 03:57 PM (GMT)
So I suppose this means that there's no Aerith mention at all...everyone who's played the game has said nothing... looks like our flowergirl's reign is over....everyone's there but her...even Seph...is that unfair of what?

Wellllll.... if you look at Remy's
DoC screenshots thread.... there's
*DoC spoilers* one scene with the angel statue, and I've always thought that represented Aerith. Also, there's a brief scene with Sephiroth. I've also heard that there's no indication of a Cloti relationship in the game. */end DoC spoilers*
Difinity - January 30, 2006 07:21 PM (GMT)
What bothers me more than absolutely no mention of Aerith (which is understandable since her story is associated with Cloud, it had to have ended in AC with his story as well) is that it seems no one is wearing the ribbon anymore. The most obvious one not wearing it is Tifa, since her ribbon was always in plain view in AC. I haven't been able to tell with Barret or Cid, since I haven't been able to get a clear view of where their ribbons were in AC.
I hope Cloud still has his but his blasted sleeve is back! :lmao: ). It wouldn't make sense to get rid of the ribbon completely. It's only been 3 years since she died. *gives Nomura a look* Ah well, as long as there's no Cloti, I'm happy.
Onigiri - January 31, 2006 01:53 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I've noticed the ribbon too. I think they got rid of it because DoC wasn't about Aerith, and didn't have any association. I think they didn't think want the players distracted by the ribbon. Cloud got his sleeve back so it's impossible to tell if he still has it, since he has the strongest feelings that the ribbon represents.
It's okay, there is still CC to hope for.
Kaldea - January 31, 2006 02:54 AM (GMT)

:lmao:
The clotis really ate their words this time, methinks.

I wouldn't worry about it. Well, I'm not, at any rate.
Remember that in the end, these are pixels that need to be designed, and that costs time and money. If Aerith isn't going to play much of a role in DC, if the ribbon isn't going to have any plot value for DC; and since the ribbon has no commercial value unlike, say, the Cloudy Wolf ring in AC... why include it? It just means more time and more work spent on designing it, ensuring it flows smoothly with the motions etc.
More trouble than it's worth, I'd say.

No no, that's a GOOD thing! It means it's not completely ruled out that he doesn't have the ribbon with him. It could still be hidden under his sleeve, yes? Nobody knows now.
That, and the sleeve is just sexy. :P

It seems to me that SE was trying to avoid using *anything* that people would relate to the Love Triangle. SE wanted to leave the LT up to interpretaton, so they didn't include anything that could be used to argue the LT with. Tifa was in it, yes, but her current relationship with Cloud was left completely up to the imagination.
If Aerith had been used in any way, people would immediately be looking for anything to imply that Cloud still loves her. If Aerith was shown alone in the flower field, people would say that Cloud no longer visits and take it as a pro-Cloti hint. If Cloud was shown visiting the flower fields, people would take it as a Cleris hint. If we saw yellow flowers in Cloud's office, people would take it as a Cleris hint. If we saw Cloud wearing the pink ribbon, people would take it as a Cleris hint. I think it would have been tricky to use Aerith in a way that left it up to your imagination whether or not Cloud still loved her.
I think it was easier for SE to leave Cloud's feelings for Aerith up to interpretation by not using her or anything associated with her. They almost had to use Tifa, but they left out any interaction that could imply Cloti.
I also agree with Lynn that Cloud's sleeve makes it impossible to know whether or not Cloud still wears the ribbon. It can't be proven that he wears it, but it can't be disproven, either. I think that was all part of leaving it up to interpretation.

What is SND? Sensitive Net Dive is a terminal which can have access to "World Network" this network is conduct by Life Stream, we can interfer with other people (who have left some knowlege or feeling fragments (like ghost)). Only Shelke can use this network.

If Cloud use it through Shelke, then he could "interfer" with Aerith, dont you think? :)
*/end DOC spoilers*
FF_Goddess - February 7, 2006 10:41 PM (GMT)
Hey, that's pretty cool! :woot: They probably wouldn't show Cloud communicating with Aerith, though, just to keep the LT out of this game. :(

Wow, that's awesome, Lady LeBlanc! I bet she *could* use it to contact Aerith! Is it possible to do that in the game?
Lady_leBLanc - February 8, 2006 03:42 PM (GMT)
You can ask that person who posted in AC.net if you have a count there ^^ , sorry, I dont have one, I dont like to be there somehow... but I read a lot of interesting stuff there ^_^

Question! Which of those FMV titles contains Tifa and Cloud. Cause y'know, *ahem* still a Tifa fan here, so anything with her in it I'd like to see. XD And download. And have on my harddrive forever.

Death From All Sides and Injection V have Tifa in them. ^_^ I forgot to download the ending (WTF? *headdesks*), but from Remy's screens, it looks like Tifa's in that one too.
