I've been searching the web to find the definite release date for AC and have gotten mixed results. Some places say it's Jan 10 (in 2 days), some say its in march. :unsure:
If anyone knows for sure please let me know.

What I've been hearing is March...something. I dunno, never heard about January 10th. If it was wouldn't their be commercials or something? :unsure:

AnimeNation has changed their release date from 1-10-06 to 3-28-06. So, looks like it will be March. :mad: :fury: :shoot:

I've been hearing hearing a lot of different things about the release date. :ermm: I heard from someone in another forum, who works for a video game store, saying that AC was going to be release somewhere in August 2006?! But, I'm really hoping that rumor is false.

I was talking to the guy at the game store where I pre-ordered AC from and he said that Advent Children is so far away from being released that it isn't even showing up on his computer anymore. :sad: :mad:

I'm not getting worked up over it, nor am I holding my breath. It may not just be SE's fault you know...other people are working on this project with them, and if it's true what Nomura said about not being able to find the right voices, then that sets them back as well. Either way, I'll just be happy when it does finally come out, but you wont get a squee out of me like SE did when I heard it would be released on Nov. 29th.

When I heard that it was Jan of 2006 (the 10th of January to be exact), I called a store over in Hawaii that gets their inventory from Japan so I could see if they had any I could buy yet (I always order from them for Japanese imports and stuff). They said that the information that they recieved from Square Enix said that the release date is scheduled for February 2006 (probably the 12th). And to be sure, I called some game stores around my house and they're saying the same things. So I guess its February.

Though, they did say its subject to change, but lets hope they dont change it anymore.

I really hope it comes out in February :D I got my hopes up this month thinking it was gonna be out on the 12th, all for nothing :sad: I hope Square isn't trying to have AC and KH2 come out at the same time. Oh, and the only reason amazon has 2010 as the release date is because they had it as Jan 2006, but the date got changed so they're just leaving it at that till they get a new release date. So don't worry about that :)

Er, in one of my Anime Insider magazines it said it was set for release on January 10, 2006. I'm unsure as to that though because its the tenth right now, and I've got no news of it being out. :no:

END of 2006? :lmao: I'm guessing their marketing department's given up on giving a specific release date. By saying it'll come at the end of the year, any release before that would be considered an "improvement".

Still. Was it Amazon that listed AC coming out in 2025? That date sounds more and more possible every day.

Well it is to be expected since the bombing of their last US release like this. I'm sure that they dont want a tragedy like TSW, but I dont really think they have to worry about it. The FFVII following is huge, and the fans in Europe and the US have been begging for this sequel for a loooong time...though I do admit most of us were probably hoping for a game instead of a movie....I would have prefered a game.

Why dont you just buy a inofficial DVD? I did it on ebay only with ca. 18-19$, there are LO, cut scences and many trailers on the 2.DVD, but I'm veryX100000000.... sad that the Reminiscence and the Compilation trailer arent there on the first DVD :( The quality of the DVD ist amazing, much better than those I downloaded.

And I still didnt see Reminiscence yet, Bittorrent doesnt work the whole time :(

Because those are called Bootlegs, and even though we are supporting our love for FFVII, we aren't supporting SE, the company who made it and spent all that time, devotion, and money into giving us this long awaited sequel.

I never buy anything anymore that's bootlegged, since the only people that get the money are the one's who are selling the fake copies, and I'd much rather have my funds go out to the people who are going to be giving us future releases, and who really gave life to my favorite albums, movies, and merchandise. ^_^

Well, I understand why people start downloading or buying bootlegs, when sE is making it so hard for us fans to get the original. It can't be that hard to release a simple DVD and with all the delays it feels like they are cheating us... <_<
They should know that taking so much time is making the fans go elsewhere to get it or losing interest entierely. This thing is a sequel to their possibly best known game, it would be impossible not to earn money like crazy, if they would just let people buy it.

yeah, you are completly right :D man, after I read your post I really feel disappointed that I bough the bootlegged, but I will surely buy the original one when it would come out in Europe......

That I dont have so much of a problem with. I downloaded it myself, but I am fully intent on buying the DVD as soon as it's available over here in the US. I do know some people who buy the bootlegs and dont feel like getting the originals at all, and that's what makes me upset.

I actually listen to an internet Japanese radio station...they'll happily accept CD's, but only if they are legit, to save their butts in case copyright issues turn up. I guess I got that lecture about bootlegs so much it's starting to rub off LOL...

@ Sternenstaub: Actually, depending on the project, like this one, of this magnitude, it's a little harder for them to get it out to us. First you have to get the translations correct, and also you have to get the right VA for the job. I wouldn't want some half-ass lame-o to voice Cloud or Aerith, heck, even Cait. I'd be mad if they didnt take their time with it and give us something crappy because fans wanted it so badly. It'd be TSW all over again, and that's certainly something that SE doesn't want.

My friend who lives in Virginia told me that a Square Enix store has opened by her house and that they told her that it was coming out March 28th.

Well, its ok to take time but over a year for a simple DVD is way to much. Especially after all these delays. If they had said from the very beginning it would take that long, it wouldn't be half as bad but this feels like they are cheating the fans. Besides, I heard that a fully synchronised (audio and subtitles) english version is supposed to be available in Japan in march and still the US version is taking that long - what can take so long to finish?
I somehow can't believe anymore that they really need so much time. Hell, they even finished BC and DC in less time... FFXII is probably in my PS2 (in Europe) before AC.

The mistake from Amazon is coming to my mind, where they labeled aC available in 2025 :whistle: .

I've heard from some people on Live Journal that the US release date is going to be on April 25th, and that Steve Burton will be doing Cloud's english voice. Aparently this info was on the official us site, but then 'mysteriously' disapeared. . . *shrugs*. That's the rumors, one can only hope! *crosses fingers and hopes*

I looked at the "Official US Site" myself, and there is NOTHING new about AC... The latest news updated was back in May of 2005. Dont hold your breath guys. They'll get it to us when they darn well please, and honestly, even though people say so, that they wont buy it because it's taking too long, the temptation is far too great, and this isn't hurting their sales one bit. It's making the anticipation of the fans greater, if anything else.
