Anti-R - December 17, 2005 05:31 AM (GMT)
Unfortunately, I'll get to see it in January...

This sucks!!! <_<

Toxo - December 17, 2005 10:14 AM (GMT)
Hoho. I've read all Narnia books and I've seen many Narnia posters. I can't wait to see it. :woot:

Anti-R - December 17, 2005 05:29 PM (GMT)
Me too! I heard that the film is a success and that "Prince Caspian" is being talked about. XD

Sefie - December 17, 2005 06:22 PM (GMT)
IT IS!? ZAAAAAAH!!! XD XD XD *So glad the semester is over and I have lots of free time*

Anti-R - December 17, 2005 06:42 PM (GMT)
I've read Chronicles of Narnia since I was 8. Peter Pevensie is my first fictional character crush. XD So it seems kind of weird I'm having a thing for the actor playing his role.

Hmm. Wonder if Harry Potter fangirls felt like this? I feel like a cradle snatcher. >.<

Rikkulicious - December 17, 2005 09:20 PM (GMT)
I saw it, it sucked, I want that three hours of my life back. <_<

Sora-kun - December 17, 2005 11:17 PM (GMT)
My bro (A.K.A Leon) has all the books but hasn't even touched them :lmao: so i will end up reading 1 of them and i want to the game and the movie soooooo much.

I was shocked they made a movie to.

Sefie - December 18, 2005 12:53 AM (GMT)
*Certainly hopes they intend to make the other books too*

Oh, I really wanna see it. :( I only saw Rent, cause I didn't know it was out. I guess I'll make plans one day to see it. :) I never read the books, but I saw the old show in school last year. It was crazily funny cause it was old.

Anti-R - December 18, 2005 05:52 AM (GMT)
*am jealous to the ones who've seen it*

Tilda Swinton! WETA! ^0^ I heard the actress who played Lucy was pretty good, Liam Neeson voiced Aslan pretty well... and that Jadis is scary (actress said she didn't want her kids to watch the movie, because of her role ^^).

Sora-kun - December 18, 2005 09:42 AM (GMT)
Lol i'm his bro not his sister

Haha! I know how you feel! I've read them since I was 9 and had crushes on Peter and Edmund(Caspian and Eustace too). So now I also feel like a cradle-robber when I see the actors who play the two boys

Rikkulicious - December 18, 2005 04:18 PM (GMT)
 Someone please tell me what was so likeable about that movie, because I found nothing. <_<

On the plus side, though, the lady who played the witch was verah good.

Haha! That's my brother Sefie! Yeah I've got the books and I've tried to read them but I just can't get into them. Perhaps seeing the movie will change all of that ^_^

I kind of think it was funny you think it was cliche, Rikku. ^^ It's just the Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of The Rings were the forerunners of modern fantasy fiction. It also helps the fact that both authors of said books happened to be good friends and would spend afternoons in their book club and talk about their work. ^o^

I haven't seen the film. But I've read all the books so many years ago and loved them ever since (except maybe the Last Battle... very depressing). I'm also suggesting you read them Rikku! XD

Me! ME! Jadis fangirl! I love her character in Magician's Nephew! She makes Ultimecia/Edea look like kindergarteners! XD

I agree with Anti-R. You have to realize that Tolkien and Lewis were the fathers of modern fantasy. I thought the movie was delightful. If you don't go in expecting some heavy-hitting movie like LotR, you won't be disappointed. The movie itself was only rated PG, so I didn't expect gory battle scenes or anything. But, the battles themselves were very good. The CG creatures were amazing. I laughed, I cried, and just had a good ol' time. What about it did you find cliche, Rikku? :ermm:

Rikkulicious - December 18, 2005 06:57 PM (GMT)
Honestly, I kinda really don't care about the 'fathers of modern fantasty', what I'm talking about is the movie itself, the plot, nothing to do with what the writer did, that's useless information to me.

What about it I didn't like? EVERYTHING. The movie's plot moved SO slow, it hardly kept you interested, and I considered leaving the threater many times. It was so CHEESY, "I'm dead! No...wait...I'm not! Lawl!" Even the people who got stoned ended up coming back alive, which was cheesy and boring, so the 'emotional impact' of their deaths had got taken away. The jokes were dry and boring, hardly worthy of a giggle, there's more, but I'm too lazy to type dah rest.

Anti-R - December 19, 2005 02:33 AM (GMT)
The whole "I'm dead but I'm not" can be an allegory of Jesus' death and ressurection for humanity's salvation in the Bible. In the book, I would say it was more detailed, explained actually, on the logic behind that. Lewis really did that on purpose. He has a very strong view on Christian faith (considering he used to be an atheist) is really REALLY imprinted in the books, and has to be echoed in the movie. The sequels following it are no different, actually. Besides, the character mentioned is not an ordinary character, he did after all created Narnia.

And the people who are stoned are just enchanted to be stone by the White Witch. They're not dead. It's no different that the green world was forced in an eternal winter. ^^

I know, especially in this!!!

Hotness! I know a lot of fangirls loved Harry's Triwizard outfit. Peter in armor is sexy.

My next crush was Diggory... which is weird as he is the Professor Kirke. ^^

Yep. They started the cliches. I should blame them more often... :D

I know the part about the bible, how can I not? It's all over the news! :lmao: "Disney promoting a movie about the Bible!" I honestly think the book would be much better than the movie, well, the books are always better than the movies anyways, but you know what I mean! ^_^ But all of it was cheesy, even if there IS reasoning behind it, that doesn't take away the cheesiness factor. Now I've already said the stuff I've disliked! Now, c'mon you guys, tell me what was LIKEABLE about this film! Other than that actress that played the witch, and the cute guy who played Peter. ;)

Anti-R - December 19, 2005 03:12 AM (GMT)
I haven't seen it yet to reply to your question. I do have the game and saw scenes from the movie though. Maybe FFG can answer that. ^^

But for me, it's just seeing the dream of seeing one of my favorite books in the silver screen, same feeling I had for LOTR back then.

Kusari Yarou - December 19, 2005 09:41 AM (GMT)
Same as Anti-R. I've been a Narnia fangirl for years now and seeing it made into a movie is euphoric :fangirl:
Love your sig, Anti-R! Can't wait to see Peter kick Miraz's ass in Prince Caspian
Oh and I love the fact that they actually SHOW the battles here! In the book, the battles are only narrated by Peter to Aslan.

Yeah! Me too! My favorite part is when Peter was giving a formal letter of challenge to Miraz... he even added titles and such because that's what he usually does on the years he was an adult High King. And then in the actual duel when Peter stands back and let his enemy pick up his sword (so COOL!!!), and Edmund was exasperated his brother had to be so fair. ^^;

Peter Wolf-Bane/Fenris-Bane!!! WOOT~!

Yeah... it was anticlimatic first time I read it. ^^;

Marionette - December 19, 2005 11:14 AM (GMT)
I never read the books but I remember when I was young about (four or six) I saw the animated version on TV the only thing I clearly remember is the lion without his mane and feeling really sad for it. Anyway, I really want to see the movie, hopefully tomorrow.

mallorn - December 19, 2005 12:23 PM (GMT)
I haven't watched Narnia yet, but I'll get around to it soon. I've been seeing mixed reviews, with more of the positive, so I'm really looking forward to it. :D

The book I wish they would make into a movie is The Magician's Nephew... The concept of the between-worlds forest, and Charn, is just amazing. It'd also be neat to see the little tidbit about the wardrobe revealed. :)

Sora-kun - December 19, 2005 04:40 PM (GMT)
Neither have i watched the movie i really want to see it though :hyper:

I meant read the books sometime.

Well, I haven't even read the books, but I just found the whole movie to be really magical. I enjoy "old-school" fantasies like this one. Maybe it is just a difference of opinion and taste, but I really like movies and stories like this. The movie itself could almost be predictable at times, but it didn't bother me at all. I thought it was nicely done. Hmm... I don't think I explained why I liked it very well...
