Aeris was just an absolutely perfect Zelda, both in personality and looks. I couldn't resist putting her in Zelda's outfit from Four Swords. She even had the RIBBON. Picture of Zelda:

Tifa's role actually has some meaning behind it. See, the FFVII fan empire isn't the only one with a rabid love triangle. In fact, the one between Link, Zelda, and Malon (yes, the farm girl from Ocarina of Time) rivals the one between Cloud, Aeris, and Tifa pretty closely. Malon is a lot like Tifa because she's a shy country girl who makes one heck of a drink and has a fangirlish dream for a knight in shining armor to sweep her off her feet, sort of like Tifa's wish for a "hero" to come rescue her. Although, Link's oblivious to her hints--he's a little bit more concerned with the gal in the pink dress. :lol: There is still a very strong rivalry between Zelink and Malink fans, although the creators are a little more partial to Zelda X Link, which is beginning to shine in their latest games. Too bad Nomura's not more like Miyamoto and Aonuma when it comes to being open about his pairing preferences. :whistle: But, anyway, Tifa's a country girl at heart. I think she fit the part of Malon very well.

As for Red, he was cast as Link's faithful steed, Epona. No particular reason except that they're both red. And animals. God bless the little bugger. :red:

Now, Barret was absolutely obvious. Just look at the picture. :D Darunia's the tough-on-the-outside, softie-on-the-inside guy who treats Link with complete distrust at first, and eventually warms up to him like a big brother (they even have a "Sworn Brothers" ritual! XD) Very much like the Cloud/Barret relationship.

Please don't ask about Cait Sith's moogle. And please don't scream when you see the picture. I quickly ran out of fat guys to use. So the moogle ended up being THIS ridiculous thing. She is, in fact, Link's "fiancee" who fell in love with him when he saved her from the belly of a whale during childhood. Then she forced a prenuptial agreement on him. :lmao:

Run and hide. NOW.

As for the others...I'm not willling to explain. Too lazy. And I don't really have any good reasons for them. :P

Thanks a ton for explaining the Link, Zelda, and Malon LT. I've heard of it, but I was never too sure who Malon was. Sadly, I haven't played any of the more recent Zelda games. I'm super old-school when it comes to that series. :blush:

Part of why Zelda reminds me so much of Aeris. :aeris: Those are her last words to Link, and they remind me a lot of Aeris's last words to Cloud. It's funny how they're often portrayed similarly to Cloud and Aeris--they meet in a courtyard in the middle of her castle, full of flowers. One of those pretty pairings. :cleris:

Promise: Hehe, Barret was one of the most fun ones to draw. I had a feeling he wouldn't be particularly partial to the idea of dressing up with that hairdo. :D I wondered if they'd be hard to recognize. So I tried to keep everybody pretty well in character. And I'm glad you liked TEH AER BEAR and my animation. I amuse myself too easily. :lol:

Hades' Daughter: Oh, take it from me, that's a pretty grudging little triangle they've got going on, although FFVII's is a bit more rabid. I was one helluva debater for that one. Which is where I learned to shut my trap in LTD debates. :shutup:

Oh, but I'm satisfied nowadays, 'cause it seems to be paying off. Aonuma's pretty heavy on LXZ, not to mention the very true fact you mentioned-- Malon has only been referred to in the latest games as an average NPC. (As a Malon fan, that's sort of sad for me, but I hate the way people exaggerate her relationship with Link. Really, she barely remembers who he IS after seven years. Zelda, on the other hand, dressed like a ninja guy and ran out in the open with a warlord on her tail, just to wait for you-know-who. :fangirl: )

Of course, I'd be stunned if it happened. But at least we know the direction it'd swing in if any romance ever started in Zelda. :fangirl:
